Exhibition: Traces of Architecture - Shanghai Temple Architecture Photography Exhibition

I visited a very unique exhibition at the "Jingwei Tiandi" exhibition hall in the Four Seasons Square: "Traces of Architecture - Shanghai Temple Architecture Photography Exhibition". This is the first time that temple architecture in this region has been presented in a comprehensive, focused, and holistic manner through photography in Shanghai. The exhibition features 48 selected works by architectural photographer Tao Jun, who spent several years visiting 160 temples in Shanghai, capturing the exterior forms and interior spaces of each temple with his camera. Jing'an Temple, Longhua Temple, Jade Buddha Temple, Fazang Lecture Temple, Baiyun Temple, Yuanming Lecture Hall... These familiar names are presented with unique charm and vitality through Tao Jun's lens. Shanghai, a city where modernity and tradition intersect, not only has modern urban spaces but also a rich religious architectural heritage. These temple buildings are not only symbols of faith but also witnesses to the city's history.
