The only manor-style resort hotel in Singapore I have a standard for choosing hotels, which is 'old building, new hotel'. An example is Capella Singapore. The hotel integrates the main building, a colonial-style building from the 1880s in Tanah Merah, with a new wing designed by renowned architect Sir Norman Foster. The white building is the old building from the last century, and the curved new building is connected to it. I truly admire the skills of the architect. Capella is located in Sentosa, the only resort area in Singapore. When we arrived at the hotel, my child exclaimed 'Wow' upon seeing a peacock, and one even spread its feathers for him. The happiness of children is so simple. My feeling about staying at Capella Singapore is like traveling through a historical time machine. The new and the old, the curves and the straight lines, even the East and the West, all collide intensely here, yet everything is so harmonious. I personally prefer the old building, which consists of two colonial-style buildings from the 1880s in Tanah Merah (Malay for 'Red Earth'). The extensive use of the most inclusive white color, paired with the reddish-brown roof, is particularly elegant. The second floor of this building is the Capella Living Room. All guests can enter, and there is afternoon tea every day. Another part of the old building I like is the corridor. The lattice doors and shutters instantly bring out the Nanyang style and a retro feel. The old building has a kind of magic, putting a leisurely atmosphere into ancient times and pulling people back to the past. The new building is relatively modern. All rooms except the villas are in the new building, ensuring comfort. The corridor has a different style, with the old building as one of its views. The pool faces the dense forest, giving a Bali-like feeling, but unfortunately, the weather was not good during my stay. Rooms Capella mainly has four types of rooms: guest rooms, suites, villas, and manors. For families with children, I recommend going straight for the villa. Out of 112 rooms, 38 are villas, while there are only 11 suites, so they are often sold at the same price. The large living room, large bedroom, and bathrooms are divided into indoor and outdoor areas, with a separate bathtub and shower outside. The highlight is a small pool (soaking pool), where my child had a great time just in the room. The welcome fruits and desserts were also very generous.
