Xingcheng General's Mansion (Upper).

Xingcheng General's Mansion is located in the southeast corner of Xingcheng Ancient City. It was built in 1926, covering an area of 5,000 square meters, with a building area of 575 square meters. It has 18 rooms and is divided into two parts: a residence and a garden. The owner, Gao Rulian, served as the chief of staff of Zhang Xueliang's lieutenant general. After General Gao Rulian retired in 1928, he lived in this house until 1947. After the liberation of Xingcheng, the mansion was used as the county party committee office and school. It was opened to the public as a tourist attraction in 2003. The General's Mansion is a well-preserved building from the Republic of China period in the ancient city. It has a unique architectural style, combining Chinese and Western elements in a courtyard. The courtyard has a garden, which is quiet and elegant, called "Moyuan." Xingcheng General's Mansion and Shenyang Zhang's Marshal Mansion are known as the two major residences of generals from the Republic of China in Liaoning Province, known as "North Zhang and South Gao."
