Daily Itinerary
Day 1: Exploring the Ancient City, Tracing Folk Customs
Arriving in Enshi in the morning, our first stop was Enshi Tusi City. This landmark, the largest and most distinctive Tusi cultural site in China, carries a rich history😃. Stepping into the ancient city, the imposing gate towers and simple city walls transport you back to the era of Tusi rule. Wandering through the Nine Halls and other structures, admire the exquisite wood and stone carvings, sense the majesty and luxury of the Tusi, and learn about the unique political and cultural landscape of the Tujia people.
In the evening, we arrived at Daughter City, a hub of Tujia folk culture. Along the antique streets, traditional handicraft shops and specialty snack stalls abound. The cheerful rhythm of the Baishou dance and the melodious tunes of Tujia folk songs fill the air, inviting visitors to join in and experience the passion of the Tujia people. Indulge in Enshi's unique cuisine: Youxiang'er, with its crispy exterior and rich filling, offers a burst of flavor in every bite😋; Hezha, with its smooth texture and fragrant aroma, tantalizes the taste buds.
Day 2: Canyon Views and the Wonders of the Land Crack
After breakfast, we headed to the Enshi Grand Canyon, its magnificence undiminished even in February. Taking the cable car into the scenic area, we were treated to rolling hills and swirling mists. Entering the Seven Star Village scenic spot, we marveled at the forest of oddly shaped peaks, some resembling towering jade pillars, others like scattered celestial flowers—a testament to nature's artistry🧐. Walking along the cliffside plank road, with a chasm below and steep cliffs beside, we experienced both thrill and excitement, taking in the panoramic view of the canyon.
In the afternoon, we explored the Yunlong Land Crack, descending along the plank road. Waterfalls cascaded down the crack, creating a spray that formed a rainbow in the sunlight. The towering rock walls and lush vegetation made us feel like we had entered a mystical subterranean world. The murmuring springs and fresh air were intoxicating, leaving us in awe of this unique geological wonder.
Day 3: Cave Exploration and Qingjiang River Cruise
After breakfast, we journeyed to Tenglong Cave, Asia's largest cave, whose grandeur exceeded all expectations. Inside, we felt transported to another world. The vast cavern could accommodate an airplane in flight, with mountains within the cave and caves within the mountains. The stalactites, each with its unique form, appeared dreamlike under the illumination. The laser show and folk song and dance performances added another layer of charm to the cave, leaving us amazed.
In the afternoon, we took a boat trip along the Qingjiang Gallery, focusing on Butterfly Cliff. The water of the Qingjiang River was crystal clear and emerald green, flanked by continuous mountain peaks. As the boat approached Butterfly Cliff, the cliff face, resembling a butterfly spreading its wings, came into view—a sight both magnificent and beautiful. With a gentle breeze on our faces, we immersed ourselves in this picturesque landscape, savoring the tranquil charm of the Qingjiang River, a perfect ending to our Enshi journey🎉.
