Get to Hue by train is very enjoyable trip, the train will take you through Hai Van pass, run by the ocean and let you slowly enjoy the view. They will make one stop in Lang Co Bay and you are allowed to get out, have a look at the view and buy some snacks called “bánh bột lọc” (the 5th picture). It’s really good. By night, you can enjoy the live traditional Vietnam music on the dragon boat in Huong river. The train ticket costs 190k VND (~8€) for one way trip. Stopped by De-Po early one morning when the shop had just opened. The weather that day was quite gloomy and drizzling so I didn't expect much @ but luckily the sun was shining a little and through the windows of the shop, Leon took the opportunity to capture a few pretty corners of this famous cafe in Hue. Leon liked the atmosphere of the shop from the moment he entered. The space is classically gentle from the quiet brown tones. The old wooden tables, the time-stained chairs and the nostalgic decor here combined with retro music will definitely bring you a feeling of comfort & relaxation. Even though it was during the week, the shop was still very crowded with morning coffee customers. Especially when coming to De-Po in the cool March, everyone loves to sit outside on the balcony watching the bustling streets below Dong Ba market. The menu is quite affordable compared to cafes in Saigon. The most expensive drink is only 49k. There is a downside, Leon's caramel macchiato is too sweet because of the caramel sauce, making you want to get a sugar shock after the first sip. As for the egg cream coffee, it's okay. When you get to Dong Ba market, park your car in the market's parking lot, and when you order a drink, remember to stamp the free parking stamp!

Nice place to visit, it's really attractive. But attention, they haven't lockers for baggages. So go without them

I visited the Imperial City in Hue, and it was pretty interesting. The place is huge, with old palaces, temples, and walls that used to be part of the royal grounds. Some parts are a bit worn down, but I think that just adds to the charm. Walking around, you get a real sense of the history there. The area was numerous bonsai trees was surely my favorite. And the color palette of the place is just so stunning and beautiful. A tip: Wear comfy shoes because there’s a lot of walking, and the ground can be uneven. Also, bring some sunscreen or a hat—it can get hot. One more tip: there is a coffee shop on the premises, and some vending machine machines to get water and another beverages. I didn’t know that Hue was the capital of Vietnam for over 140 years. It was nice to learn about the place while walking through it. Overall, I’m glad I went. Hue, the former 19 century capital of imperial Vietnam, is located a couple of hours drive from Da Nang. The vintage bright yellows and reds, the ornate colonnades and intricate roof arrangements of the imperial palace are awe-inspiring. When I visited on 19 March, the weather was swelteringly hot. Be prepared and take plenty of water along with your camera.

The saying 'If you don't go now, you'll end up going later' doesn't really apply to me... I guess it's more like 'If you don't go, then later is the right time'. The Hue Imperial Palace was the last royal dynasty of Vietnam, the Nguyen Dynasty's palace grounds, and it is registered as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The scale of the Hue Imperial Palace is quite large. The halls are also splendid and well-maintained, offering plenty to see. If you plan to take your time and explore every nook and cranny, you should allocate more than 2 hours. Since the weather is hot, essentials like a parasol, hat, and water are a must. The street food noodles outside the castle are decent, but if you're concerned about hygiene, you might want to pass on them and just have a refreshing juice instead.

#tripblazers The last monarch dynasty of Vietnam is ruled by the Nguyen dynasty from 1802 - 1945. This citadel is served as the forbidden city of the Nguyen Imperial family during their reign. It was built under the order of the first Emperor Gia Long in 1803, who shifted the capital from Thang Long (Hanoi currently) to Hue, which is also the seat of the Nguyen family. The monarch consulted the geomancer on which direction should the gates and the Emperor's seat should face during the construction. There is also a moat constructed encircling the citadel to protect it against foreign invasion. This citadel has served as the seat of the monarch until Emperor Bao Dai's abdication in 1945. It suffered heavy damages due to the 2 wars in 1947 and 1968, and major restoration works are still ongoing to rebuild the citadel to its original form.

Learn about the Ngyuen dynasty through this UNESCO World Heritage site. You may like to rent the Vietnamese traditional costumes for your photo ops while you walk through the pavilions and gardens. If you'd like to visit the temples, you'd need to dress appropriately to enter. 2-2.5 hours would be sufficient to cover the main sights.
