Known as the most beautiful indoor market in Europe, Rodante Matkthal Arcade Market
De Markthal Market, the first indoor market in the Netherlands, is located in the heart of #Rotterdam. This arcade market is just as its name suggests. Its internal building is designed with arches and is decorated into a beautiful work of art. It is known as the most beautiful market in Europe. . As night falls, the various colorful three-dimensional paintings add a dazzling charm.
When I walked into this lively market hall, the first thing I saw was the domed mural called "The Horn of Plenty". Those lovely three-dimensional paintings show vegetables 🥬 fruits 🍇 fish 🐟 cheese 🧀️ bread 🥐 and insects 🦋, etc., with their rich colors and delicate details, they capture the essence of food and nature, as if they are telling every vivid moment. The story is amazing! Looking up, you will definitely be shocked by the magnificence and splendor of the paintings. Those vivid patterns carefully created by designers echo each other with the silent night sky outside, exuding endless artistic charm.
The reason why De Markthal Market has become a #popular attraction in Rodante is not only because of its unique architectural style, but also a palace of art, culture and food. It has a diverse collection of stalls, restaurants, coffee shops and shops, providing visitors with a wealth of choices whether they want to taste authentic Dutch food, handmade chocolate or international cuisine.

Rotterdam Food Plaza
As soon as you exit Rotterdam Station, you'll see the tall arch-shaped building on your right—the Rotterdam Food Plaza. Inside, there's a highly recommended cheese shop with great quality and delicious cheese, and the owner is particularly interesting. The seafood pasta and risotto are also highly recommended, fresh and tasty.
On the left side, you'll find the unique Pencil House and Cube House buildings, which house offices and hotels. This time, I was lucky enough to stay in the Cube House. Although the walls are slanted, it's actually quite nice and very special.
Behind the station, there's a large square that hosts a weekend market and flea market, making it very lively.
I'm sure many of you have seen Jackie Chan's movie 'Who Am I.' There's a fight scene filmed in the square between the Cube Houses. Watching it as a kid didn't leave much of an impression, but seeing it in person was quite impactful. Watching the movie again after visiting gave me a deeper understanding.

Modern Market with Plenty of Local & International Food, Drinks
#familytrips2024 #vianasjourney #awesomepic
As its name suggests, this place is basically a modern kinda market selling plenty kind of food and drinks from not only something familiar to dutch taste but also to international customers. You can easily get your boba drinks, ramen, or kunafa in the market. Apart that most shops selling light snacks, there’s also some restaurant with bigger space where you can get some proper table and dine. WC is available in the building, you just have to take one escalator down. It was nice that I have plenty of options here.

Rotterdam, rising from the ruins
Rotterdam was completely destroyed during the Second World War, and from the ruins one of the most unique cities in the Netherlands was born. Although it is only slightly smaller than Amsterdam, it has completely different atmosphere. The largest port in Europe is located in Rotterdam. You can get to Rotterdam from Amsterdam by intercity train for 16 euros. Leave the central station and walk in any direction you like. The beauties of the city will find you.
Best places to visit:
The Cube Houses, Erasmus Bridge, Rotterdam Central Station, Euromast Tower and Markthal

Traveling in Rotterdam, the Markthal arcade market is a must. Looking far away, this market is a circular-shaped building with countless windows. When you walk into it, you will be attracted by the ever-changing colored fruits, grains and vegetables on the giant curved dome.
This artwork based on the vegetable market shows a wonderful world of lively fragrance. The interior of the market is horseshoe-shaped, which was designed by the local company MVRDV.
In the market, the stalls are neat and the owner is enthusiastic. Here is a place for food, from fresh meat to seafood, from dry goods to desserts, from bread to vegetables, Asian, European, and Middle Eastern delicacies, allowing you to spend a whole day eating and eating. All day long. Not only Rotterdams, but many residents of the Netherlands or neighboring countries will regard this arcade market as an important stop for their daily purchases.
I like this market, it is lively and unruly, full of humanity and no market enthusiasm, full of human fireworks but not materialistic! I really admire the Rotterdam people can make a vegetable market so extreme and beautiful, so it is pleasing to buy food and cook and want to go shopping.

The most literary vegetable market in the world: Markthal in the Rotterdam market.
This dish, which is completely different from the vegetable market, looks more like a work of art. The high vaulted roofs are sleek windows, and the clever design is that these glazings belong to more than two hundred apartments in the building. People living in the apartment can clearly see what happens in the market.
The huge murals are colorful and are done by artists Arno Coenen and Iris Roskam. Look closely, the murals have flowers and fruits. In this environment, the market is appetizing and shopping desires are growing, and the mood is brighter.
The smile of the owner is super sweet, the type of cheese is too rich, the owner warmly invites us to taste, and finally I bought the garlic, the first great!
In addition to this, I especially like the elevator here, colorful, both science fiction and reality.
I yearn for the life of the Rotterdam people, and I can buy things in such a beautiful food market every day. The happiness index must be very high!

The World Slowly Wanders|The Mad City of Rotterdam Plays with Architecture
A rare member of modern architecture in Europe~🤩
I call it the Mad City!! So ahead of its time.
It is also the 'Gateway to Europe'. This time I finally reserved time to check it out.
I dare say architecture enthusiasts will definitely love Rotterdam.
The whole city feels very modern and magical.
This port city has gone crazy with architectural design!!!
When you come to Amsterdam, I suggest you leave a day to visit here✅
🚄Transportation: Both Amsterdam and Rotterdam have several train stations. Use Google Maps to navigate to your destination and follow the route. The journey takes about 1 hour. Buy train tickets from NS and bus tickets from FlixBus.
☑️Five main check-in points in Rotterdam
🔹Depot Boijmans Van Beuningen
🔹Pencil Tower
🔹Cube Houses
🔹Markthal
🔹Witte de Withstraat
I personally think the St. Lawrence Church is average. The ticket is 4€, you can skip it.
If you are short on time, spend half a day each in Rotterdam and The Hague. The journey between the two is 30 minutes.
Or, like me, you can slowly wander around Rotterdam for a day, which is also very enjoyable.
FiveFiveFive Cafe is a random pick from Google, a gathering place for cyclists.
Pho Hanoi is a cost-effective Vietnamese restaurant with decent taste.
Tips: I suggest getting off at Blaak station by train. The main check-in points are right outside.

Rotterdam is known as most technologically advanced city in Netherlands. beside the largest seaport in Europe, a very cosmopolitan and lively city, full of state of the art architectural buildings and a great diversity of culinary places. The most interesting part is the diversity of the building's architecture, well integrated between the old part of the city and the new one. It's definitely a city to visit and enjoy the markhall, pencil building and also the yellow apartment boxes

A stylish market in the Netherlands
Netherlands
A facility called Markthal in Rotterdam.
This building has a tunnel structure,
colorful illustrations are painted on it,
it's an Instagram-worthy facility, and it's crowded with tourists from all over the world.
Inside, there are many restaurants, food courts, grocery stores, and fresh food stores,
and there is also a cheese specialty store,
a classic Dutch souvenir,
and the colorfully wrapped cheese is recommended as a souvenir.
You can enjoy just looking at it even if you don't buy it.
There are also colorful donuts,
it's fun just to look at them 😄

In our impression, mentioning the market will definitely feel dirty, but I want to tell you that there is one of the most beautiful vegetable markets in the world in Rotterdam. The dirty mess does not exist here. This super beautiful market is the MARKTHAL large arch. Gallery market.
The whole market is like a large supermarket. The huge arch inside is made up of a large colored mural. Many people come here to see the vaulted mural market. nice. Colorful murals are some of the most primitive and natural elements, butterflies and insect leaves, etc., which are especially artistic.
