How to Take Amazing Photos in Cairns
What's a trip without photos? Beautiful scenery is for the eyes, but good stories are for the camera. Cairns is home to two world-class treasures: the Great Barrier Reef and the tropical rainforest. Even if you're not a great photographer, you can take amazing photos here.
The Great Barrier Reef
The Great Barrier Reef stretches for more than 2,300 km. It's not only magnificent on the surface, but also colorful underwater. Put on your diving gear and jump into the sea, and a colorful world will appear before your eyes. Fish, turtles, and other marine life will welcome you. You don't need to pose, the fish will surround you, and you'll look like a real ocean elf.
Helicopter
Take a helicopter ride and enjoy the view of the pure and lush sea from above. Be a co-pilot for a day!
Kuranda Rainforest
The tanks left over from World War II, the wild Aboriginal culture, the healing anime, and the vibrant rainforest vegetation are the best backdrops for your photos.
Palm Cove is a holiday paradise. The off-white sand and graceful palm trees are a natural backdrop. The sky at dusk is like a gradient of candy colors, with a filter. On the soft sand, put on a long dress, stroll in the sunset, or sip a cocktail under the palm trees. Just press the shutter, and you'll have a stylish photo.
Nudey Beach
The water is like jade, the sand is like snow, the rainforest is like emerald, and the coral surrounds you. These scenes are hidden on Nudey Beach on Fitzroy Island. The silver-white sand, the endless sea, and the seemingly chaotic boulders on the beach make this a popular spot. Put on your swimsuit and jump into the shallow sea. Your silhouette will be perfect in the sunset.
Babinda Boulders
The unique Babinda Boulders are located in the rainforest, an hour's drive south of Cairns. The rocks are scattered in the rainforest stream, looking cute up close and majestic from afar. Just sit on a boulder, take a photo, and you'll have a classic shot. Swimwear and rainforests are a perfect match here. After taking photos, you can swim in the water.

1. A 40-minute flight, taking in the tropical rainforest of Cairns, Green Island, Vlasoff Sand Cay, Upolu Cay, and Arlington Reef. On the return journey, fly along the east coast past Palm Cove back to Cairns.

The experience of several dozen minutes passed quickly, and it was quite enjoyable! Thanks to the captains for showing us the beauty of this magical natural wonder.

Unlocking the tropical rainforest in another way: 50 degrees turquoise
Just in time for Australia Day, unfortunately the sea project was cancelled due to high winds and waves at the outer reef. 🪸 Let's unlock the Great Barrier Reef in another way: helicopter sightseeing Reef Scenic Flights. 30 minutes around Green Island, Arlington Reef, Vlasoff Sand Cay and Upolu Sand Cay
tips:
- Reef Scenic Flights is next to the Cairns Public Lagoon pool, book in advance, there are different time lengths to choose from
- The 30-minute sightseeing tour is 399 Australian dollars (including hotel pick-up and drop-off)
- The coffee shop next door is good 👌
The afternoon is even more wild~ I like it too much
Drive 30 minutes to Little Mulgrave River, dense rainforest, smooth rocks, sitting in a 'doughnut' for each person, the feeling of 'going with the flow' is a bit 🆒~ 1.5 hours in the waterway of the tropical rainforest, cool and exciting. Also met many families and friends who drove pickup trucks to parties along the way on weekends. Even in the rainforest, they used local materials, grabbed the vines and did a somersault to jump into the water~ Release nature
The sound of nature as the background, the cool stream is refreshing. Along the way, I have always been longing for the small waves brought by the drop in rocks, this is what summer should look like ☀️🍃🍩🌊
