A must visit place for transport fan
Experience the past, present and future of mobility in Switzerland's most-visited museum.
There are a lot of interactive guides and exhibits to let visitors understand the history of transport (from road, rail, water, air and space). The collection of more than 3,000 items is presented in more than 20,000m2 of exhibition space. The large outdoor area complete with lake and playing facilities make it an experience whatever the weather.
At the end of the tour, you must visit The Lindt Boutique in the museum shop. It's not only the place for chocolate lovers but also to see the interesting chocolate modelled after the transport theme here.

Spent a great weekend at the Swiss Transport Museum in Lucerne. 🚂🚗 The admission fee of CHF 32 may sound like quite a lot, but believe me it is well worth every penny for the vast amount and hands on displays. #SwissTransportMagic #LucerneAdventure
The museum encompasses anything from old trains and cars to aviation history, as well as marine heritage. The best part was the IMAX film - a jaw-dropping journey through Swiss Alps that left me dazzled by Switzerland’s natural beauty. 🏔️🎥
The classic cars are a walk down memory lane, and the interactive exhibits make it entertaining for everyone. The flight simulators and driving simulations were a hit—felt like being both pilot, as well as race car driver in one day. ✈️🏎️
After the museum, a boat cruise on Lake Lucerne is an enjoyable part of transport to continue. The scenic cruise provides vistas that one would wish to have as a postcard of the surrounding mountains and enchanting lakeside hamlets. 🛳️🌄
For art lovers, a good follow-up is the nearby Richard Wagner Museum. The villa and exhibits offer an insight into the life of this celebrated composer. 🎶🏰
Piccard, the museum’s restaurant provides a warm atmosphere and lake views. This is ideal for having a snack and thinking about the transport marvels you have seen. 🍽️🌅
The Swiss Museum of Transport is a holistic look into the innovative history of transportation in Switzerland. The diverse displays, amazing images and nearby sights make it a first-rate destination in Lucerne! #TransportWonder #LucerneDiscovery

The Swiss Transport Museum, which is specially recommended by the locals, is the largest transportation museum in Europe and is said to have been visited by every Swiss. Unexpectedly, a person who had no interest in the museum could stay in the Swiss Transport Museum in Lucerne for a whole day, and rushed to experience a variety of fun transportation with a group of students. Such a fun museum is actually not red in China!
The whole hall is too big. It is divided into trains, cars, ships, aviation and several large halls, as well as IMAX theaters, car crashes, driving trains and many other experiences. The traffic sign is actually the outer wall of the museum. It is marked by the Swiss highway and is a famous punching place.

The Swiss Transport Museum was built in 1959 to showcase various forms of transportation (including trains, cars, ships, cable cars, airplanes, etc.) and communications, and is the largest transportation museum in Europe. In 2008, expansion and upgrading were carried out, and 3,000 pieces of physical exhibits were exhibited in the 20,000-square-meter pavilion, and various types of vehicles were displayed in various themes. During the renovation, the pavilion set up more interactive participation projects and links, making the visit more interesting and integrating the elements of the theme park. Interesting projects include: antique car stage Arena, simulated landscape train driving, boating competition, driving test, car crash test, fighter simulation cabin, simulated glider, locomotive maintenance and more. In the outdoor exhibition area, there are also projects for children to learn traffic regulations and road construction knowledge.
