Shin-Aomori Station:A Gateway to Culture
#getgoing2025
Shin-Aomori Station was more than just a stop—it was a cultural hub. The sleek, modern design of the station contrasted with the surrounding natural beauty. I explored local artisan shops, savoring apple-based treats that Aomori is famous for. It’s a place where tradition and modernity meet, offering a perfect introduction to the wonders of northern Japan.

[Aomori] Take a stroll around in a horse-drawn carriage 🐴 Aomoriya
📌 🇯🇵 Japan / Aomori
.
I went to Aomori Prefecture✈️🍎
I went to Aomoriya for the first time and experienced a lot of activities, so I'd like to introduce them to you🥳
I was happy to be there in time to see the autumn leaves☺️🍁
#AutumnLeavesAppleCarriage
It took about 20 minutes to ride around the park on the Aomoriya grounds in a horse-drawn carriage.
I went there just in time for the autumn leaves, so I was able to walk around the park while admiring the colored trees🍁✨
Kirara-chan was so cute~🐴
I was given some apples as a souvenir🍎🍏

[Aomori] Aomoriya, a hotel serving exquisite cuisine
📌 🇯🇵 Japan / Aomori
.
Aomoriya is a place where you can enjoy Aomori's culture, including festivals and dialects, with the concept of "Nore Sore Aomori ~Hito no Monogatari~".
("Noresore" means "full" in Aomori dialect)
If you stay here, you will definitely be able to enjoy Aomori to the fullest, and I want to come back again😍🍎✨
At "Noresore Shokudo" where you will be served by a kaccha wearing an apron,
you can enjoy Aomori's local cuisine in buffet style🤤
When I went there, they were having a scallop fair,
and they had a seafood buffet with scallops as the main dish🦐✨
No joke, it was so delicious that I had to ask for seconds and ate too much🤤✨
I enjoyed it to the fullest and was very satisfied🥹✨✨

[Aomori] Apple-themed festival accommodation
📌 🇯🇵 Japan / Aomori
.
Introducing Aomoriya's Jawamegu Apple Festival🍎
You can enjoy it like a theme park, but you can also relax in your room like it's a different space,
and it's an inn that is so satisfying🥰
Autumn-only festival🍁
"Jawamegu" is an Aomori dialect word that means a lively, fun, and exciting atmosphere☺️
A theme that matches the autumn, which is the apple harvest season🍎🍂
It's a festival full of apples, with apple monaka stalls, apple shooting games, apple capsule machines, and giant apple lanterns✨
It was a fun festival, and we had a lot of fun🥳✨
The theme changes with each season, and at the moment it's the winter version❄️

A Dazzling Night of Lights, Culture, and Tradition
#traveldiaries #japan #japantrip #aomori #nebuta
What I find particularly fascinating about the Nebuta Festival is how it blends art, history, and tradition in such a dynamic way. The artistry of the floats, often handmade by skilled craftsmen over months, showcases the depth of Japanese craftsmanship and storytelling. The festival also invites interaction, with visitors sometimes encouraged to join in the dancing, fostering a sense of unity and celebration.
For me, the Nebuta Festival embodies the spirit of Japanese festivals—vibrant, communal, and deeply rooted in tradition. It's an unforgettable experience that highlights Japan’s cultural richness while offering a visually captivating spectacle.
[Aomori Gyosai Center] A large crowd gathers to enjoy the famous seafood rice bowl🦞
If you're going to Aomori, you should definitely go! Aomori Gyosai Center is within walking distance from Aomori Station!
💞Reasons why we recommend it:
For 2,000 yen, you can choose your favorite seafood bowl toppings!
There are many shops inside that offer seafood bowl toppings, and you always use one ticket for rice at first, two for sea urchin, etc., and you count the number of tickets you use to top the toppings!
The ingredients vary depending on the season!
It's a place that makes you want to go back even after visiting once! 💛
Preparation⚠️:
I went about 30 minutes before closing time at 4:00 p.m.! It was great that a seat became available! Be careful because it will probably be very crowded at lunchtime and it may be difficult to get a seat! However, it is open from 7:00 a.m., so it is recommended for morning trips!

Best ski resort in Aomori Japan
✔️ Rockwood Hotel & Spa
📍 Aomori, Nishitsugaru District, Ajigasawa, Japan
Skiing and snowboarding enthusiasts who love the powder life, this is for you! Instead of the usual Niseko destination, consider heading to Aomori for equally awesome skiing and snowboarding experiences.
This hotel is a really decent one that has fuss-free rooms and facilities, especially an onsen available for all guests to use. Sometimes, different food trucks also set up shop on the slopes. During this stay, it was the lovely pizza lady! Easy to get to the slopes too.
My overall rating of the experience: 4 out of 5 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Apple themed Onsen

#aomori
This is the Hoshino Resorts Aomoriya hotel located in Misawa, Aomori Prefecture. It is a 15 minutes walk from Misawa Station, alternatively, they also provide free shuttle services from Misawa Station and Misawa Airport. It is like a mini themed park that displays the rural culture of Aomori in northern Japan. Horse-drawn carriages ride down roads past traditional Japanese homes, while elements of local festivals and crafts add color and flair to the premises. The ONSEN with the garden view is so calming. There is a large park/garden at the back for you to stroll around and you can find a foot bath over there. Their rooms were large and comfortable. They even have apple auctions, where you can get apples at low prices and also get to experience real life auction scenarios. It was so funny! The stay was just perfect and full of experiences. They also provide free FRESH apple juice at certain timings.
Adorable Aomori
Aomori is one of the most adorable places I’ve ever been. Friendly people, good produce (lots of apples), good food (with good price), cozy small town vibe is such a charm :) Just walk around the city for a day and you can fall in love with it.
The city does a real good job organizing and branding everything it can offer in a matter that is quite personable and extremely adorable. Lots of smiles and good vibes here that you won’t find in mega cities.
It’s one of those places that will stay in your heart, and will want to come back!

This is the Hoshino Resorts Aomoriya located in Aomori Prefecture. There are shuttle bus services available to the hotel, if not it is a 15 minutes walk from Misawa station. This hotel makes you feel like you’re walking in a Japanese festival. The decorations are authentic and tradition, I love it! There is free flow fresh apple juice available at the common area and they have shops that sells everything related to Apple! Like Apple facial products and unique apple infused food products. I would recommend y’all to participate their apple auction. It is fun and interactive and the apples are cheap! And of course you can relax in an open bath with a spectacular view. It’s a great place for a romantic getaway.
A for Aomori
This is the Aomori Tourist information centre located in Aomori City, Tohoku region. It is only an 8 minute walk from the JR Aomori station~ The information centre building is shaped like an “A” which represents Aomori! Cool! You can also stroll in a nearby park where you can see cute seal statues and the view of the ocean. There is also a light house at the bay~ There is an observation deck at the 13th floor to see the Panoramic view of the Shimokita, Tsugaru, and Natsudomari peninsulas, Mutsu Bay, and the mountains of Hakkoda.

Calming Greenery
This is the Oirase Keiryu located near Towada Lake, Aomori prefecture. There are buses that takes approximately three hours to reach from Aomori city. The stream flows along the floor of the Oirase Gorge, winding among the lush trees. It is Famous for the autumn view when the leaves turn red~ There are over a dozen waterfalls along the stream. It is said that the hiking trail is easy to follow. However, I did not try as we had driven there~ I loved how fresh the air was and it’s really lovely to be surrounded by nature 👍🏼

First time
First time to Aomori.
Choosing Art Hotel as there are quite a number of KOLs mentioning the buffet breakfast of this hotel.
Be honest, the hotel outside view is great with colourful and legend lights. But the room is small, and the setting isn’t very user-friendly. For a couple with 2 luggages + 2 hand carry suitcases, we spent some time on packing stuff.
For the well-known breakfast, it’s really amazing as what others shared. Though the restaurant isn’t very big, the food choices are various. Mutsu Bay Scallops, Fukaura Maguro Steak Bowl, apple curry rice and apple sorbet are highly recommended. Aomori apple juice and apple pastry are also nice.
In short, the hotel stay is great #aomori #apple
The Must Oirase Stream

#aomori
Oirase Stream is located in Hachimantai National Park, Aomori Prefecture, Tohoku Region, Japan. It is a stream that flows from Lake Towada along the Oirase Valley. The surrounding area has fresh and cool air that you can breathe deeply. Surrounded by trees, the beauty changes with the seasons. During the autumn foliage season, around the end of October to the beginning of November, this is a popular tourist spot.
See the natural World Heritage Site of Lake Juniko
Lake Juniko
This tourist spot is so beautiful that it has been selected as part of the Shirakami Sanchi Natural World Heritage Site. It is located in Fukauramachi, Aomori Prefecture, Tohoku Region, Japan.
It is quite a long journey. If you take the express train from Aomori Station to Juniko Station, it will take more than 3 hours, and it will take 6 hours.
But the lake is worth seeing because of its clear, blue water (but the picture came out green 🤣).

Aomori Japan Autumn
Japan is undoubtedly one of the most captivating destinations to visit during autumn. The country transforms into a breathtaking landscape with vibrant hues of red, orange, and yellow foliage. Exploring the picturesque countryside, strolling through tranquil gardens, and immersing in traditional cultural activities are just a few of the unforgettable experiences that await you in Japan during this season.
One of the highlights of an autumn trip to Japan is witnessing the phenomenon of "koyo" or the changing of leaves. Iconic spots like Kyoto's Arashiyama Bamboo Grove, Tokyo's Shinjuku Gyoen National Garden, and Nara's Yoshino Mountain offer awe-inspiring views of nature's color palette. The sight of ancient temples and shrines adorned by vibrant foliage is simply magical.
Autumn in Japan is also synonymous with delicious seasonal cuisine. Indulge in mouthwatering dishes like hot bowls of ramen, freshly grilled skewers of yakitori, and delectable wagashi (traditional Japanese sweets). Additionally, autumn brings with it the harvest season for fruits like persimmons and pears, which you can savor at local markets or traditional tea houses.
Immersing in cultural activities during your trip to Japan is an absolute must. Participate in tea ceremonies, try on a kimono, or witness traditional festivals like the Takayama Autumn Festival or the Kurama Fire Festival. These experiences offer a glimpse into Japan's rich cultural heritage and provide a deeper understanding of the country's traditions.
Lastly, the warm and welcoming nature of the Japanese people adds an extra layer of enjoyment to your trip. Whether it's receiving assistance from locals, interacting with friendly shopkeepers, or engaging in conversations with fellow travelers, the hospitality of the Japanese will leave a lasting impression on you.
Overall, an autumn trip to Japan is an experience you will cherish forever. The combination of stunning natural landscapes, delectable cuisine, rich cultural activities, and the warmth of its people make it a destination that truly captivates the heart and soul.
