Spent a day in Fenghuang Ancient City and was mesmerized by this magical little town. I stayed in a beautiful room on the river with a balcony that overlooked all the activity. It was raining most of the time, but the mist just added more of a fairy-like atmosphere to the whole experience. There was plenty of street food, snacks, drinks to keep people fed while they are wandering through the alleys and checking out the scenery. #fenghuangancienttown #fenghuang #chinatravel #hunan

Located in Hunan province, Fenghuang Ancient Town is one of the most famous old towns in China. #WinterTravel Fenghuang Ancient Town, China An old town in the middle of a valley, the atmosphere is very good. The houses are still old and classic. The elderly people look energetic. They come out to do various activities, fish, walk for exercise. And there are many groups hired to take pictures for tourists near the bridge. So we got a lot of beautiful pictures back. We took the high-speed train from Changsha for 2 hours, got off at Honghua, and took a taxi for 1:30 to get here. Fenghuang Ancient Town (Phoenix Town) is a peaceful town just outside of Zhangjiajie. It can be done within a day if you use the local bus instead of taking a tour. We took a bus from the Zhangjiajie central bus station. Costs 80 RMB per trip and takes around 4h15min to get there. The journey back by bus was quicker, around 3h45min. They have loads of spots to buy snacks and water, and a few Chinese restaurants within the town. Take the high-speed train. You can get on at 2 stations. + Changsha - Fenghuang Gucheng takes about 3.30 hours. + Changshanan - Fenghuang Gucheng takes about 2 - 2.40 hours. 2. When you arrive at Fenghuang Station, take a bus or call Didi to take you to the ancient town. It takes another half hour. 3. On the way back to Changsha, there is a late night train at 20.20 - 22.25 or 21.43 - 23.34. #fenghuangancienttown

Took a train from changsha station and a car ride to reach here. This place is rather popular, and is huge! but not sure is it because i visited during their non peak season, a lot stores never open. Stores that are opened are mainly for photo takings, and food only. Wouldn’t recc ppl to specially come n visit this ancient town. My stay at this homestay(江韵小筑江景民宿) in Fenghuang was a truly memorable experience. The host was incredibly friendly and welcoming, making me feel right at home from the moment I arrived. They even arranged a convenient pick-up from the nearby station, which was a thoughtful touch, especially after a long journey. Fenghuang Ancient Town - Take the high-speed train from changsha south - fenghuang gucheng - There are electric cars from the train station. The service is very good. When you arrive at the village entrance, you have to carry your luggage down by yourself because cars cannot enter the village. - The view is beautiful during the day. At night, the lights are very beautiful. - There is a fountain in the middle of the river that projects a screen instead of a projector. It is very magnificent. - I recommend booking a hotel by the river with a balcony. There are many hotels. You can check the reviews of any hotel on trip.com. - No Chinese people speak English. #100WaysOfTravel I traveled here for two nights but I wish I could have stayed longer! Both the daylight view and the night view was amazing, almost magical. I enjoyed a lot dressing up and taking photos with beautiful clothing and stunning background. I also went to watch theatre which was truly a special experience and I enjoyed every moment! After the theatre they had organised fireworks and other beautiful outdoor shows. The hotel prices were good and many of the hotels were decorated nicely. I would suggest to stay as central as possible in the old town, near the river. Also their barbecue was amazing as well as other Hunan food. Feng Huang Ancient Town. Definitely in the checklist if you are in Changsha! I was in awe of the beautiful landscape and scenery before my sight the moment I arrived in Feng Huang. The town is lively with people both day and night. The sights are both wonderful. Recommend to stay over a night in town just so you can party/chill till late looking over the water, listening to the chatting and music from the balcony. and enjoying the beautiful sights again when you wake up in the morning and enjoying your breakfast from the balcony.
