However, it can get very crowded (there are even signs asking people to be quiet and watch out for pickpockets). You can't miss this spot if you want to take postcard-perfect photos. Visiting Berchtesgaden National Park definitely means hiking. If you only hike the section around Königssee Upper Lake, it takes about an hour and a half. Some parts of the trail are not very easy to walk, so it's recommended to wear sneakers and pants. However, the scenery along the way is beautiful, with mountains and lakes. At the farthest point of the Upper Lake area, you can even see a waterfall. But personally, I don't recommend this waterfall; it's too small and not very impressive. It's better to spend more time taking photos by the lake.

Germany's Most Beautiful Lake - Königssee Königssee is located near the border town of Berchtesgaden, between Germany and Austria. To visit Königssee, you can start from Salzburg or Munich. The lake's location is unique, as it is completely surrounded by the Alps, offering breathtaking scenery. Blue skies, alpine meadows, and green waters create a paradise-like setting. The boats on Königssee are all electric to protect the environment. Nature lovers should not miss this spot.

The historic Mirabell Palace, located in Salzburg, Austria, boasts a long history. Although the palace was renovated and restored in a neoclassical style, its famous interior decorations are exquisite examples of Baroque architecture. This location is also a famous filming site for the song 'Do Re Mi' from the movie 'The Sound of Music'! Due to limited time, we stayed here for less than half an hour. We mainly explored the park to see the scenes from the movie (there should be signposts nearby...), and later walked around the palace building. However, there wasn't much to see inside! There's no need to spend extra time looking for an entrance or stairs to go up. Just passing by for a visit is enough!

We booked a three-bedroom loft apartment, and it was exactly as shown in the pictures—everything was clean and tidy. From the bedroom windows, you can see mountains and lakes on three sides, and from the living room balcony, you can see the village of Hallstatt. The rooms are equipped with everything you need for a comfortable stay and cooking. The owners provide essentials like tea, coffee, salt, sugar, and basic cooking oil. The apartment also has many games, puzzles, and books that my children loved. They also have a sun deck by the lake, which is a great spot for a quick picnic. The apartment is very close to all the places you want to visit in Hallstatt, yet it is very quiet and away from the tourist hustle and bustle. Hallstatt Lahn (bus/boat station) is a 4-minute walk from the apartment, and we had no trouble dragging our suitcases from there to the apartment. There is a children's park 50 meters from the apartment, which the kids loved. Supermarkets and restaurants are also nearby. The owners are very nice. They live on the first floor. They helped us move our luggage to the second floor (where we stayed) and let us use the washing machine (+ dryer) where we washed all our clothes. They even brought some bread so the kids could feed the swans on the sun deck. I will definitely stay here again the next time I visit Hallstatt.
