We, together with our son's family (with 3 young children) stayed in mid April. On arrival, in order to put us on the same floor, the manager upgraded both of our apartments to an executive apartment and a 2 bedroom apartment. The apartments are very spacious and clean. The furnishing is of good quality. Very functional and pleasing. Both have a full kitchen with a good size fridge/freezer, coffee machine, cook top and even a rice cooker. A washing machine came in handy for the travelers. The bathroom in both apartments was huge. It has a separate shower and separate toilet. Our grandchildren found it amazing to find a hidden television in the bathroom. Watching TV while having a bath. (Try and see if you can find the hidden television!) All the staff were polite and professional. The reception staff speak adequate English to be helpful. The location was really good. 5 minutes walk to the Wangfujing pedestrian precinct and to subway. There are many eateries (all price range) just within 10 minutes walking radius. It is so close to the food street where stalls sell all kinds of food, from potato chips on a stick to fried scorpions. Most visitors would make just one trip there, but since we were so close, the grandchildren went there 3 times, just to absorb the atmosphere. Forbidden City is an easy 20 minutes walk ( can be quicker, if you do not have to dodge between other tourists and cars). Since it is so close, we got up early in the morning, strolled down to Tiananmen square before other tourists made it there. There is only one restaurant in the hotel, serving breakfast and hotpot dinner. That is adequate, as there are many eateries close by. Breakfast had a good mix of Chinese and Western choices. Everyday, a few items would be changed from previous day's selection. Ciletuh Geopark is full of amazing, huge waterfalls and stunning scenery. It's a 6 hour drive from Jakarta but you feel like you have entered an entirely different world. The air is clean, the hills are impressive and covered in dense foliage and there is good bird life throughout the region. Some of the waterfalls can be visited by just a short walk from your car while others offer 30-40 minute hikes for the more adventurous and fit. It's best to organize a local driver who knows the road conditions and where everything is to make sure you can make the most of your stay. We stayed at Ciletuh Hills which is a brand new resort right next to Curug Sodong and Cikanteh two of the finest waterfalls in the park and it has a few villa's with amazing views, comfortable beds, clean bathrooms and high quality air condition. I highly recommend it if you are looking for a base to explore the park. They also organize very reasonably priced "Safari Tours" to the main attractions in the park using high clearance vehicles that will safely get you to any of the parks many destinations. This place is one of the few remaining true paradises in West Java. If you plan a visit avoid the weekend or long weekends if possible or else you might encounter crowds escaping Jakarta. Throwback to my trip last year, starting from Labuan Bajo and ending in Ende. One of the destinations I visited was Bena Village, Bena Village is one of the megalithic villages located at the foot of Mount Inerie, East Nusa Tenggara. Bena Village stands on a wide field. Before entering, tourists are required to pay an entrance ticket of Rp. 25 thousand, and loaned a headband that must be worn by every visitor as one of the conditions for entering the village. There stood approximately 40 houses lined up in a circle. I also went around the village, and tried to interact with the people there, and captured some moments that I rarely met, such as the community activities there, the houses there, and many more. I really miss, really want to be able to set foot again in Eastern Indonesia, because there are still many destinations that have not been visited. The staff at the The Shalimar Boutique Hotel in downtown Jawa Timur were fantastic. Great attitude. Helpful, and always available. The bed was super comfy. I will always stay at this location when traveling to or through Jawa Timur. The hotel was wonderful. It was even better than expected. The price was amazing. There were great restaurants within walking distance. Would definitely stay there again. They were extremely accommodating and allowed us to check in early at like 10am. The rooms were clean, very comfortable, and the staff was amazing. They went over and beyond to help make our stay enjoyable. I highly recommend this hotel for anyone visiting here. The staff at the Holiday inn Express in downtown Jakarta were fantastic. Great attitude. Helpful, and always available. The bed was super comfy. I will always stay at this location when traveling to or through Jakarta. We stay here once a year at least for special events when we don’t want to drive home. Staff is always friendly. Very clean. Love the charm of this hotel. Does not give you the routine chain hotel vibe at all. While I did not get there in time to eat at restaurant, have heard amazing reviews on the restaurant. I had a wonderful experience at the Sahid Serpong. Every staff member I encountered, from the valet to the check- in to the cleaning staff were delightful and eager to help! Thank you! Will recommend to my colleagues! Beautiful downtown hotel with nice roof top bar. Rooms have historic feel with old hard wood floors, yet modern as bathrooms have white subway tiles with TVs in each bathroom. Staff is wonderful and accommodating providing upgrades when available. We vistited this hotel the last mont. The staff were very great and quality sevice, so, the eat is varity and excelent , also the rooms were cleand and confort bed. it has afantastic location for the people that visit the towon for work.
