Exploring Khai Dinh Tomb
One of the most remarkable architectural masterpieces we visited in Hue was Khai Dinh Tomb, one of the seven most stunning tombs in the city. Located around 10km from the center of Hue in Thuy Bang commune, Huong Thuy district, the tomb is easily accessible, especially if you're staying at nearby resorts like Pilgrimage or anHill.
We were captivated by the grandeur of the high steps leading up to the tomb, surrounded by a nostalgic atmosphere. From the top, you can admire the lush, green mountains that frame the ancient capital. Khai Dinh Tomb embodies rich historical, cultural, and artistic values, serving as a symbol of the cultural exchange between Vietnam and Western influences during its time.
The tomb's structure is a rectangular block with 127 steps, starting with the Tam Quan gate, followed by Nghi Mon and Bai Dinh yard. The upper two floors, separated by 13 steps each, lead to Thien Dinh Palace at the highest point.
Though the area of the tomb is small, the intricate details reflect the painstaking work of ancient artisans, making this site an unforgettable destination to explore.
Coastal Charm: Victoria Phan Thiet
During our return to Mui Ne, we stayed at the expansive Victoria Phan Thiet Beach Resort & Spa, set on 7 hectares of lush gardens along the coastline. The resort’s blend of nostalgic Vietnamese architecture and modern comforts was a highlight, with rustic thatched-roof bungalows providing an authentic yet luxurious feel.
Since we checked in early, we explored the resort and had lunch at L'Océane restaurant, where East-West fusion cuisine and ocean views made for an unforgettable experience. The buttered bread was especially memorable—so delicious that I couldn’t resist two servings!
For the best experience, I recommend booking a seaside bungalow to fully enjoy the sound of the waves right from your room. Pair that with a little wine and snacks, and your evening will be perfect.
Victoria’s beach is stunning and perfect for swimming, sunbathing, or kitesurfing, and jogging along the shore is also a wonderful way to enjoy the scenery. The resort provides everything you need, including quick check-in, free Wi-Fi, a spa, gym, and a variety of sports activities. With attentive, professional staff, we were truly satisfied with our stay.
Da Nang: City of love
Da Nang is one of the top tourist destinations in Vietnam, offering a perfect blend of sea, mountains, and rivers, along with its friendly people. Despite being a modern city, Da Nang maintains the charm and tranquility of a coastal town.
Famous for its world-class beaches like My Khe, Non Nuoc, and Bac My An, the city offers various activities like surfing, coral diving, canoeing, and even paragliding. For those seeking a peaceful experience, a simple walk along the shore is refreshing.
Nature lovers can explore Ngu Hanh Son mountain, Son Tra peninsula, or Hai Van pass to enjoy breathtaking views. The local cuisine is another highlight, with popular dishes such as Quang noodles with frog, banh xeo, and the renowned Da Nang rice paper rolls with boiled meat. For souvenirs, stroll through Con and Han markets.
With its scenic spots like Ba Na Hill, Love Bridge, and ancient pagodas, Da Nang is a place where spending a few days will leave lasting memories.
Unveiling the Charm of Dinh Cau Temple in the Heart of Phu Quoc
#temples #100WaysOfTravel
Dinh Cau Temple, perched on a rocky outcrop overlooking the sea in Phu Quoc, is a unique and spiritual destination. It was said that the temple has a history of 300 years old and built to honour Thien Hau, the Goddess of the Sea. The iconic temple holds deep cultural significance for the island's fishermen, who come here to pray for safe vogayes and bountiful catches.
The temple setting is its most captivating feature. Located near Dinh Cau Beach and the night market, it offers stunning views of the ocean and is especially enchanting at sunset. The temple itself, while small, is adorned with colourful statues and intricate carvings that reflect the island's blend of Vietnamese and Khmer cultures.
A short climb up the stairs to the temple rewards visitors with a peaceful ambience and a panoramic view of the harbor and coastline. The sound of waves crashing against the rocks below adds to the temple tranquil charm.

Rice Field View at Hoi An Field Boutique
Visiting Hoi An in early September, you'll be greeted by the serene sight of green rice fields at Hoi An Field Boutique Resort. With rates starting at just 750,000 VND per night, this resort offers a budget-friendly stay.
What I really enjoyed here were the beautiful rooms, fully equipped with amenities, and surrounded by lush, green landscapes. The swimming pool, though small, is impeccably clean, and you can order cocktails or beers to enjoy poolside. There are also a few gym machines available for those who like to stay active. Breakfast is simple, with limited options, but sufficient for a start to the day. As for the service, it's basic and not highly professional, but given the price, it's more than adequate.
Located just 2.5 km from the center of Hoi An Ancient Town, you can make use of the resort’s free bicycles to ride through the rice fields on your way to explore the town. This place is a peaceful and scenic retreat.
A Coastal Escape in Lo Village, Phu Yen
On one of our trips to find the simple beauty of Vietnam's coastal fishing villages, we stumbled upon Lo Village in Phú Yên. This place is a breath of fresh air with its slow pace of life and the genuine friendliness of the locals. In the early morning, you can take a walk along the beach, buy fresh fish or squid straight from the basket boats as they come in, and cook it yourself. The local market is a fun spot to explore too—everything is super cheap and fresh. The village has this charming vibe with its winding roads, old houses, and shady trees. If you're up for some sightseeing, Dai Lanh Cape, Mon Beach, and Ca Pass are nearby, and renting a motorbike to ride along those scenic mountain and sea roads is a must.
What we loved most was how laid-back everything was. Unlike other trips where you feel the need to dress up, here you can just blend in with the locals, live simply, and feel so much healthier for it. Going to bed early, waking up with the sun, and swimming every day made us feel more energized and clear-headed.

The Mong Village Resort & Spa 🌾🏞️
Sapa accommodation priced in the thousands but the view is worth millions
This resort is only 3-4 kilometers away from Sapa city. If you come during the rice farming season in July-September, you will get a spectacular view of the rice terraces.
But if you come during other periods, you will get an equally beautiful mountain view.
The highlight is the resort's central swimming pool.
With a view of the mountains and rice terraces that stretch as far as the eye can see.
As for the price, it depends on the season. Starting at around four thousand, but with such a magnificent view, come here. It's definitely worth it. 💚

Birthday at Da Nang
Happy blessed birthday to myself today which happened to be Vesak Day as well! After four long years of not travelling and dealing with the hassle of taking leave now, I finally managed to take a short trip to Da Nang. Stayed at the brand new Voco Ma Belle Danang, a 27-storey hotel that’s been open for less than a year. It offers panoramic views of the coastline and cityscape and is just a stone’s throw from the soft sands of My Khe Beach, and perfect for exploring nearby attractions.
•
The hotel was a stylish mix of timber, teal, and grey finishes, accented with Voco’s signature bright yellow. Upon checking in, I was greeted with complimentary mango macaron and check-in was a breeze. I stayed in a one-bedroom suite on the 21st floor with sea view and it was incredibly spacious, with a large living area, kitchenette, massive walk-in wardrobe, and a private balcony with stunning views. Oh, and the lovely big bathtub is a perfect touch!
•
The hotel also boasts a luxurious spa and a gym with a view. As for the dining options, there are three restaurants and bars, including Lyla for all-day dining and the Lobby Lounge. The rooftop infinity pool and Ciela Skybar and Dining are perfect for those who love watching the sunset over the Danang seafront. Would I go back again? Absolutely!

Sun World and Golden Bridge - Ba Na Hills
#passionpassport
Sun World Ba Na Hills is a little difficult to explain. It’s a theme park, a bit like Disney’s Epcot, but way more confusing and strange. The park sits at the top of a mountain and you’ll need to take a cable car (or two) to get there. There are several different areas of the park. You can explore a French chateau with a wine cellar and a garden (these are an extra fee to enter), then wander through a French town with gothic-style architecture, complete with a large cathedral. #passionpassport #beautifuldestinations #travelinsipiration #travelvietnam #traveladdict #travelworld #globetrotter
Hoi An Old Town - Vietnam
#passionpassport
Hội An is a city on Vietnam’s central coast known for its well-preserved Ancient Town, cut through with canals. The former port city’s melting-pot history is reflected in its architecture, a mix of eras and styles from wooden Chinese shophouses and temples to colorful French colonial buildings, ornate Vietnamese tube houses and the iconic Japanese Covered Bridge with its pagoda. Hoi An is a must visit place in Vietnam and it’s just magical and one of the best experience. #passionpassport #beautifuldestinations #travelworld #travelinsipiration #travelvietnam #traveladdict #travelglobe
