Checkinaway (@checkinawayblog) Worth a day trip from London
🏠This 800-year old village is very quaint and beautiful. It is famous as a filming site for Harry Porter and Pride and Prejudice movie.
Definitely not a miss if you are Harry Porter fan.
The abbey remained a nunnery until the suppression of Roman Catholic institutions in England in the 16th century; it was then sold to Sir William Sharington who converted the convent into a residence where he and his family lived.
The village is a beautiful to visit in any season and still looks exactly like it did 200 years ago. Get lost and wandering around here for plenty if photo opportunities.
Getting here-You can get a train from Paddington to Chippenham and from there take a bus to Lacock

Westminster Abbey, formally titled the Collegiate Church of Saint Peter at Westminster, is a large, mainly Gothic abbey church in the City of Westminster, London, England, just to the west of the Palace of Westminster.
It is one of the United Kingdom's most notable religious buildings and a burial site for English and, later, British monarchs. Since the coronation of William the Conqueror in 1066, all coronations of English and British monarchs have occurred in Westminster Abbey.
This is the place where another coronation will take place in May 2023 for King Charles III

#london #ldninsider #mustdo #tripblazers #toweroflondon
Visit the Tower of London to learn more about it's history and importance.
The Tower of London has played a prominent role in English history. It was besieged several times, and controlling it has been important to controlling the country.
The Tower has served variously as an armoury, a treasury, a menagerie, the home of the Royal Mint, a public record office, and the home of the Crown Jewels of England.
From the early 14th century until the reign of Charles II in the 17th century, a procession would be led from the Tower to Westminster Abbey on the coronation of a monarch. In the absence of the monarch, the Constable of the Tower is in charge of the castle.

#ldninsider #london #mustdo #unitedkingdom #toweroflondon
This is the place to see the Crown Jewels, don't miss out on it. You are not allowed to take photos but believe me, they look amazing 😉 😍 ✨️
The Tower of London, officially His Majesty's Royal Palace and Fortress of the Tower of London, is a historic castle on the north bank of the River Thames in central London. It lies within the London Borough of Tower Hamlets, which is separated from the eastern edge of the square mile of the City of London by the open space known as Tower Hill.
It was founded towards the end of 1066 as part of the Norman Conquest. The White Tower, which gives the entire castle its name, was built by William the Conqueror in 1078 and was a resented symbol of oppression, inflicted upon London by the new Norman ruling class.

Evening stroll in Gloucester London
As we took an evening stroll to enjoy the city of London in a different light, we arrived in the Gloucester area and went to check out the shopping mall, Gloucester Arcade. If you prefer walking around in an area that is less crowded and quieter, Gloucester might be a suitable precinct for you to visit.
There are quite a number of hotels around this area, making it a convenient place to explore from. Remember to pause and take some photos of the beautiful gothic architecture of buildings with great historical significance!

Did you know you can see lots of deers in London?
Yes, you heard that right. There are a lot of deers in Richmond Park in Southwest London.
Richmond Park, in the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames, is the largest of London's Royal Parks, and is of national and international importance for wildlife conservation.
What is the best time to visit Richmond Park?
At the weekends, especially during spring and summer, the park will be packed with families and tourists. Usually the best time to visit, if you want to avoid the crowds, is first thing in the morning (before 10am) or in the evening when everyone is heading home (7pm or later).
