Trip to Dolomites, Italy 🇮🇹
It was a trip to Dolomites, Italy 🇮🇹 We started our day with a visit to Lago di Braies, one of the most photographed spots in the Dolomites 🙌 The lake’s crystal-clear waters and the towering peaks surrounding it make for the perfect morning ☀️ photo op. We arrived early, around 8 AM, to avoid the crowds and catch the soft light of the morning ✨
The lake is simply mesmerizing at sunrise 🌅 with the colors reflecting beautifully on the still water. We spent about an hour walking around the lake, snapping pictures 📸 and enjoying the tranquility before the area began to fill up.
📍Lago di Braies, 39030 Braies, South Tyrol, Italy
After soaking in the beauty of Lago di Braies, we hopped onto the Dolomite Scenic Drive (SS51), which is a breathtaking 😍 route that weaves through the heart of the Dolomites. The drive offers several scenic viewpoints where you can stop for quick photo breaks 📸
One of the most stunning viewpoints is near the town of Cortina d’Ampezzo, where you get an incredible view of the Tofane Mountain range 🏔️ The dramatic peaks, especially with the late morning light ✨ create the perfect backdrop for photos 📸 📍SS51, Dolomites, Italy
We then headed to Seceda, a stunning spot accessible via a cable car 🚠 ride from Ortisei. The sweeping views from the top are simply jaw-dropping. The broad green meadows of Alpe di Siusi below, framed by the jagged peaks of the Dolomites, make for perfect photo opportunities 💯
We explored the area, taking in the panoramic views and stopping at various points along the way to snap pictures 📸 The best light for photography here is in the afternoon when the peaks are bathed in soft sunlight ✨ We spent a couple of hours hiking 🥾 the area and taking in the landscape, which truly felt like something out of a postcard 🙌
📍Seceda, 39046 Ortisei, South Tyrol, Italy
⭐️ I would advise you to start the trip early as Dolomites can get crowded, especially around popular spots like Lago di Braies.
🥾 There are some short hikes involved, so be sure to wear sturdy footwear for walking around the lakes and exploring the mountains 🙌🙌🙌

gorgeous cafe
Great place to have a meal with family and friends, but be aware that there's always a queue during mealtimes and the queue can get pretty long on weekends. There's a limit of 1 hour and 30 minutes once seated which makes sense to ensure that dining customers are not keeping other customers waiting unnecessarily.
You're encouraged to make reservations ahead of time to avoid disappointment. Overall, considering the ambience and the prices i think this can both be a nice hangout and a presentable spot to take a date.

Solo trip to Jeju Island, Korea🇰🇷
It was a solo trip to Jeju Island, Korea🇰🇷 I began my first day in Jeju by visiting Seongsan Ilchulbong for the sunrise 🌅 It’s one of the island’s most iconic spots, and the view of the sun ☀️ rising over the volcanic crater is simply breathtaking. The best time to get there is before sunrise, as the light hitting the peak and the ocean creates a magical atmosphere. If you’re into landscape photography, this place is a must-visit 😍
📍284-12, Seongsan-eup, Seogwipo-si, Jeju-do
Then I headed to Manjanggul Cave. This is one of the longest lava tubes in the world, and exploring its dark corridors filled with stunning formations was an unforgettable experience 🙌 The dim lighting ✨ can make photography tricky, but with the right camera settings, you’ll be able to capture the intricate stalactites and stalagmites. I’d recommend visiting in the late morning ⛅️ when it’s less crowded but still bright enough inside.
📍134, Manjanggul, Gujwa-eup, Jeju-si, Jeju-do
I also spent sometimes wandering around the Gimnyeong Maze Park, which is both fun and scenic 💯 The intricate hedges and pathways offer a whimsical atmosphere that makes for great photos 📸 The late afternoon, when the sun ☀️ is softer, is a great time to snap some pictures as the lighting ✨ enhances the maze’s beauty. If you’re looking for something a bit quirky, this is a great spot 👍
📍250, Gimnyeong, Gujwa-eup, Jeju-si, Jeju-do
I also visited Hallasan National Park, where the early morning mist and calm atmosphere provided the perfect backdrop for photographs 📸 The park is massive, and depending on how far you want to hike ⛰️ you can find endless views of volcanic landscapes, lush forests 🌳 and wildflowers 🌺 I recommend visiting early to capture the soft morning light and avoid the midday crowds ⛅️
📍2070-61, 1100-ro, Jeju-si, Jeju-do
I then visited the O’sulloc Tea 🍵 Museum, which is surrounded by lush green tea fields 🌱 The rows of tea plants create a serene, almost surreal landscape. I visited in the late afternoon ⛅️ and the golden hour light ✨ was perfect for capturing the soft, sweeping views of the fields. It’s also a peaceful place to relax and enjoy a cup of tea after a day of exploration 🍵
📍123, O’sulloc, Andeok-myeon, Seogwipo-si, Jeju-do

🇲🇾 JOJA Bagels 🥯 in Penang, Malaysia
#solotrip
As a bagel lover, I would not missing out on exploring great bagels wherever I go. I did a quick search which I was on my solo trip to Penang and discover JOJA bagels which has great reviews. They have both sweet and savory bagels on their menu where you get to choose from four bagel options: Original, Parmesan Oregano, Poppy Seed, and Sesame. I like the texture of their bagel, it’s chewy on the inside and slightly crispy on the outside. Each bagel is made to order so do expect a longer waiting time.

Bucket List Cappadocia Hot Air Balloon Experience! 🎈Some useful tips!
#magicalxmastrip
Floating above the magical landscapes of Cappadocia is a bucket-list experience, but there are a few things to keep in mind to make the most of it. Here’s your guide to having a perfect hot air balloon adventure!
🌅 1. Wake Up Early
Hot air balloon rides take place at sunrise when the weather conditions are most stable. Be prepared for an early start—pick-ups usually happen around 4–5 AM—but trust me, seeing the sun rise over the fairy chimneys is absolutely worth it.
🎈 2. Choose Your Tour Wisely
When booking your balloon tour, pay attention to two things: the duration and the number of people in the basket. Smaller groups of 16–20 passengers offer a more comfortable and pleasant experience compared to larger baskets with 24+ people. Longer flights (60–90 minutes) will give you extra time to take in the views.
📸 3. Enjoy the View from the Ground
If flying isn’t your thing or the tours are fully booked, watching the balloons from below is still magical. Head to popular spots like Sunset Point in Göreme or the nearby valleys to see dozens of colorful balloons filling the sky—it’s a photographer’s dream.
🥾 4. Dress in Layers
Mornings in Cappadocia can be chilly, even in summer, so wear layers to stay warm. Comfortable shoes are also a must, as the landing area can be uneven.
⭐ Top Tip: Book your balloon ride well in advance—it’s an incredibly popular activity, and spots fill up quickly, especially during peak seasons!
Whether you’re soaring through the sky or admiring the balloons from the ground, Cappadocia’s hot air balloon experience is an unforgettable way to witness the beauty of this stunning region.

Wat Intharawat (Wat Ton Kwen)
Wat Intharawat, also known as Wat Ton Kwen, in Chiang Mai is truly a hidden gem! I recently had a photo shoot there, and it was an unforgettable experience. The temple’s serene beauty and traditional Lanna architecture are absolutely captivating.
Right in front of the temple, there’s a shop that rents Lanna costumes – the only one in the area. The rental fee includes hairstyling and dressing assistance, although makeup is not included. Wearing the traditional attire really enhances the experience and makes for stunning photos that capture the essence of Lanna culture.
I highly recommend hiring the photographer as a solo traveller. The prices are more than reasonable. If you’re planning to visit, don’t miss the chance to immerse yourself in the beauty of this temple. And, of course, make sure to dress in traditional Lanna attire for memorable and beautiful photos!

Don’t miss the chance to photograph it at night—the dark skies here are perfect for stargazing and astrophotography.
🌾 4. Learn About Native American Culture
Devils Tower, known as “Bear Lodge” to many Native tribes, holds deep cultural significance. Stop by the visitor center to learn about the Native legends surrounding the tower, including its creation story. Be respectful as you explore—many Native American tribes consider this a sacred site.
🦌 5. Wildlife Spotting
Keep your eyes peeled for wildlife! Prairie dogs are everywhere near the base, and their little towns are fun to observe. You might also spot deer, hawks, or even bald eagles soaring above the monument.
⭐ Top Tips:
Get There Early – The Tower Trail can get busy, so an early morning visit means fewer crowds and cooler temps.
Bring Binoculars – Whether for wildlife spotting or watching climbers on the tower, a pair of binoculars is super handy.
Check the Night Sky – Devils Tower is part of a designated dark sky area, making it perfect for stargazing.
From hiking and climbing to soaking in cultural history and natural beauty, Devils Tower is one of Wyoming’s most unforgettable stops. Whether you’re here for the adventure or simply to admire this incredible formation, it’s a destination that’ll stay with you long after you leave.

The coffee is fantastic, and they serve a delicious variety of Western dishes, all made fresh in their own kitchen. Be sure to try their beef pho – it’s absolutely amazing! The atmosphere is incredibly soothing, making it a perfect spot to relax or photographing.

Trip to Gangneung, Korea 🇰🇷
It was a trip to Gangneung, Korea 🇰🇷 During our recent visit to Gangneung, we discovered a hidden gem 💎 of South Korea, offering a perfect blend of coastal beauty, cultural heritage, and stunning landscapes. I’d highly recommend exploring this city if you’re looking for places that are both visually captivating and rich in history 🙌
We started our day early at Gyeongpo Beach🏖️ one of the most popular spots for visitors seeking a serene sunrise 🌅 experience. The vast stretch of golden sand meets the sparkling ocean, and the tranquil atmosphere makes it the perfect place to snap photos 📸 We arrived at around 6:00 AM, just as the first light hit the horizon, creating an ethereal glow ✨ The view is truly breathtaking, and I would highly recommend coming here if you’re looking for an early morning escape 👌
📍Gyeongpo, Gangneung-si, Gangwon-do, South Korea
We also headed over to Ojukheon House 🏠 one of Gangneung’s oldest and most significant historical sites. This traditional Korean house is famed for being the birthplace of the famous Confucian scholar Yi I, also known as Yulgok. The well-preserved architecture, combined with beautiful surrounding gardens 🌺 offered us plenty of opportunities for stunning shots 📸 We explored the tranquil courtyards and even found the iconic black bamboo grove, a picturesque spot that shouldn’t be missed 😍
📍18 Yulgok-ro, Gangneung-si, Gangwon-do, South Korea
We then stopped by Haslla Art World, an eclectic art museum that blends modern art with nature. The location offers beautiful views of the ocean 🌊 and the sculptures scattered across the grounds made for a perfect backdrop for photos 📸 We loved how the artwork interacted with the coastal setting. For anyone looking to combine culture and scenic views, this place is a must-visit 🙌

Magical trip to Ijen Valcano Crater
#2024mapped #travel #travelindonesia #eastjavatrip #hikingtrip
The magical Ijen Valcano Crater located in East Java Indonesia. It is a popular for its blue fire phenomenon, acidic crater lake and sulfur mining activity. The complete journey to discover this beautiful crater might take 9.7km out-and-back and can considered as quite challenging route due to the steep climbs, rocky path and slippery descent. The best time to start the hike is at 2-3 am, to catch the blue flames before sunrise.
Tips for the hiking
1. Hiking shoes - the trail is slippery and rocky path
2. Jacket and fleece - temperature can drop to 1-10 degrees, especially during dry and rainy seasons
3. Mask/gas mask - toxic sulfur fumes
4. Hiking pole - will be useful during slippery descent
5. Headlamp - compulsory for a night hike
6. Food/water - it is definitely as one of the tiring hiking trip (588meter elevation gain)
7. Extra cash ( if you require a trolley service from local people, to bring you up and down the hill)
🇲🇾 Pinang Peranakan Mansion for a historical and cultural day!
#solotrip
I was on a solo trip to Penang and was just wandering around Georgetown. Passing by Pinang Peranakan Mansion, I was attracted to this colourful building and decided to check it out. The staff were so friendly and enthusiastic to share about this place. I joined a tour which was the best way to learn about the Peranakan culture. Everything displayed was so beautiful and I spent a lot of time to admire and appreciate each and one of them !

Gokokuji Temple 護国寺
Located near Gokokuji Station, the temple is very accessible.
The scenery changes with the seasons, and in mid-December, visitors can enjoy wonderful foliage watching. It is a very enjoyable temple to stroll around.🍂🍁
There are many other places to see on the temple grounds. First, at the entrance to the temple grounds is the Niomon Gate, which can be called the face of Gokokuji. Passing through the gate and up the stairs to the main hall, you will see the Great Buddha on your right!
In front of the main hall is the Kannon-do (main hall), which still retains its majestic appearance.

🇦🇶 Day 1-4: Cruise embarkation + Drake Passage
Day 1️⃣: Quark Expedition will have all its guests check in at the designated hotel. From my experience this time, I was allocated to stay in
Day 2️⃣: Embarkation to the cruise ship began at around 4 pm, thus, the morning was for guests to check out of the hotel and do some last-minute exploring of the town.
Day 3️⃣-4️⃣: Crossing the Drake Passage
- Drake Passage is the infamous body of water that all ships have to pass through to reach the Antarctic Peninsula, it is known for its rough conditions of massive waves and high wind speeds.
- To maximise our experience and time during those 2 days at sea, the Quark Expedition team organized multiple activities and lectures for all guests to join and broaden their knowledge about the South Pole's history and all kinds of wildlife that can be found in Antarctica.
