A day exploring Nevada
#magicalxmastrip #nevada
A day exploring Nevada offers an incredible mix of adventure, natural beauty, and quirky charm—far from the glitz of Las Vegas. Start your morning at Valley of Fire State Park, just an hour from Vegas. Its stunning red sandstone formations and petroglyphs are a perfect backdrop for short hikes like the Fire Wave Trail. Don’t forget your camera—the fiery landscapes look like another planet!
Next, head to Pahranagat National Wildlife Refuge, a peaceful oasis in the desert. Stroll along the trails, spot wildlife like herons and ducks, or enjoy a picnic by the lake. The contrast of water and desert scenery is a refreshing surprise.
Continue your adventure with a stop in the quirky town of Rachel, located near the mysterious Area 51. Grab lunch at the iconic Little A’Le’Inn, filled with UFO-themed décor and stories of extraterrestrial sightings. Don’t miss the chance to snap a photo by the “Extraterrestrial Highway” sign.
As the afternoon winds down, explore the Ward Charcoal Ovens near Ely. These beehive-shaped structures once served as kilns for mining operations and now make for a fascinating historical site surrounded by scenic mountain views.
Finish your day at Great Basin National Park, where you can take a short evening hike or tour the amazing Lehman Caves. As night falls, the park’s designation as an International Dark Sky Park means you’ll experience some of the clearest stargazing in the country.
Nevada’s vast landscapes and hidden treasures promise a day full of unforgettable experiences.
Secret hike close to Las Vegas
I had a great time hiking the Historic Railroad Trail in Nevada. The trail is pretty easy and flat, which made for a relaxing day. The best part was walking through the old railroad tunnels—there are five in total, and they’re cool to explore. The views of Lake Mead along the way were stunning, especially with the desert landscape around it.
One tip: bring water, because there’s not much shade. It can get hot, especially in the summer. I also loved how quiet and peaceful it was; I hardly saw anyone else.
Overall, it was a great way to combine history, nature, and some light exercise. Definitely worth checking out!

Secret spot nearby Las Vegas
There is a stunning place just an hour drive from Las Vegas that doesn't get too many visitors! I got there only because my local friends recommended this place to me.
Valley of fire is an absolutely beautiful, gorgeous, fantastic place! It is an absolute must when traveling to Nevada.
Valley of fire is a massive area with lots of short hikes. There are no stores or restaurants, so make sure you're bringing all the water and snacks you might need with you. This area gets extremely hot during summertime, so make sure your vehicle suits the weather in case you're planning on visiting during summer.
The views are absolutely jaw-dropping level and I cant wait to visit this place again!

Top (free) things to see in Las Vegas 🇺🇸
Fancy a trip to Las Vegas? Here are some of the top (free) things I enjoyed during my visit! You can easily experience the beauty of the Las Vegas Strip at night by following this simple 20-minute walking path:
🏰 Start your evening walk at Excalibur. Don't forget to check out the hotel lobby, which is decorated with a charming medieval castle vibe!
🗽 Next, take the footpath to New York-New York. This hotel features the Big Apple Roller Coaster and several iconic New York landmarks. The best photo spot is on the sky bridge! They also have a big chocolate shop featuring a 5ft Statue of Liberty made of 100% American chocolates that’s worth a visit!
🦁 After that, cross the road to check out the MGM Grand and snap pictures with the giant MGM lion! This hotel exudes a luxurious atmosphere.
🗼 Continue walking north after MGM, and you'll arrive at the Paris Las Vegas Hotel. Say hello to the iconic Eiffel Tower and the Paris hot air balloon!
🌍 If you're feeling adventurous, you can keep walking (or take a taxi) to see The Sphere—it's truly something extraordinary!

Alien hunting in Rachel
A day exploring the extraterrestrial highway in Rachel, Nevada.
We travelled between Christmas and New Years so the road was quiet. I’m not sure what it’s like during the summer season, but in the winter we saw very few cars. I would definitely take supplies like water and snacks. Although there are a few small towns and gas stations along the way.
First stop was the sign, we luckily ran into a private tour who took photos for us and let us pose with their props.
Next we headed to the Earth station, however it was closed.
Then we headed to the Little Alien inn. This had a few souvenirs and the food was basic, but really good. A must stop if travelling to Area 51.
On the return journey we stopped at the black post box. Hard to spot, as in the middle of nowhere! We stopped again at the Earth station which was open this time and again worth a visit for souvenirs!
At this time of year it was a hot, but a nice hot.
All in all a good winters road trip.

Hoover Dam
#usatravel #nevada
During our road trip over the summer vacation, we had the chance to visit one of the most popular destinations in the United States: the Hoover Dam, located on the border between Nevada and Arizona.
The Hoover Dam is a testament to early 20th-century engineering. This iconic structure not only provides vital water and power resources but also offers visitors a unique opportunity to explore a significant piece of American history against the stunning backdrop of the Black Canyon of the Colorado River.
When we arrived, we were immediately impressed by the size of the Hoover Dam. Standing at 726 feet tall and spanning 1,244 feet across the Black Canyon, it is both beautiful and gigantic.
We took a walk across the top of the dam, and the little exercise rewarded us with a breathtaking view of Lake Mead, the largest reservoir in the United States, and the Colorado River flowing below.
Amid the hot temperatures of the Nevada summer, we found ourselves thoroughly enjoying our time at the Hoover Dam. We highly recommend that anyone traveling to Nevada visit this wonderful destination.

Stroll along Las Vegas Boulevard
Address - Las Vegas Boulevard, Nevada, United States Of America
As a tourist in Las Vegas, one of the things to do you have to do is take a stroll down the famous Las Vegas Boulevard. In addition to checking out the various hotels located along the way, you can also stop by some of their restaurants to try out their food. A famous landmark there is the hotel called New York New York, where we went to play the arcades and enjoyed some live entertainment. Further down, you can also experience the Harley Davidson bike showroom, which was pretty eye-opening for a non-rider like myself.
My overall rating of the experience: 4 out of 5 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Venice-inspired hotel
Address - The Venetian Hotel, 3355 S Las Vegas Boulevard, Las Vegas, NV 89109, United States Of America
This hotel was breathtaking from the moment we set foot here. The entrance was decked out in reflective mirrors and was glimmering in the sun but the real view was on the inside. Not only were the walls and ceilings highly ornamented, there were even art installations and paintings on the high ceiling above!
One of the iconic spaces within this hotel is the Grand Canal Shoppes that basically gives you a taste of Venice. For a fee, you can even take a boat road down this canal complete with the blue skies painted above. Amazing!
My overall rating of the experience: 4 out of 5 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Landmark dam near Vegas
Hoover Dam is an easy day trip from Vegas. You'll be able to marvel at one of the world's most famous dams standing majestically amongst a rugged landscape.
It's very interesting to join the informative tour that lets you see the inside of this huge structure and explains its different functions.
For me, I also really enjoyed seeing the area around the dam and seeing how difficult it must have been to construct something in That landscape. There are many pretty pictures to be taken. Finally it's worth mentioning that the dam stands on the border of two states and at times, you might be transversing two different time zones, which I find truly neat!

Vegas = The most beautiful hotels ✨
When you walk into The Venetian in Las Vegas, You feel like you’re in Europe! The sky ceilings of the hotel makes it feel like you’re outdoors in the middle of Italy. I bought a cup of Gelato 🍧 to really feel immersed in the scenery and atmosphere around me.
I also visited the Bellagio Hotel in Las Vegas and they really outdid themselves for Lunar New Years. They decorated their whole garden with lots of plants, Tigers 🐅 to portray and signify the Year of the Tiger, and Chinese architecture.
Definitely get your steps in while the viewing beautiful hotels of Vegas.

Reno, the biggest little city in the world!
Having experienced Las Vegas a few times we thought we would give Reno a try, a smaller and a more manageable experience. Vegas is so big and busy now it can be quite overwhelming, especially if you stay in one of the super hotels. We decided to spend the night in Reno on the way back to California on a road trip.
Downtown Reno itself is very small, a few blocks of buildings and hotels and a few small restaurants and entertainment venues. It has definitely seen better days as there are a lot of places that are closed or rundown, but it does have some charm as such a small city.
It’s a great pitstop as hotels are a lot cheaper than Las Vegas and there is still a fair amount of choice, we stayed at the El Dorado and although it’s an older hotel it is well maintained throughout.
We took a drive around the nearest city blocks and found a few cute places to eat and drink, browsed some gift shops and spent a bit of time in the sports bar which had a great atmosphere.
Overall a decent one night stay if you want to experience the Vegas lifestyle without spending too much money. I was really impressed with the staffing as everyone from check in, housekeeping, store staff and door staff were friendly, welcoming and sincere.

Viva Las Vegas! A trip to Sin City 🏙️ 🎰🃏
Las Vegas is one of the most famous cities in the world and it has featured in hundreds of movies, TV shows and music videos. It is iconic as the nightlife capital of the world, but more recently it has become one of the best places in the world for food, live music and shopping. There are hundreds of flights a day from all over America, or it’s a four hour drive from Los Angeles - soon there will also be a high speed rail connection between the two cities.
I was really surprised by how much the city had to offer, there is so much to see within the city limits and so many interesting points long the road from Los Angeles. You will see Primm the original strip at the border of California and Nevada, it’s been dwarfed by the real strip now but it’s still interesting to see how the big bright city started off.
Live music - Everyone in the music world seems to have done a Vegas residency in the last few years so it’s worth checking out who is playing if you are visiting, everyone from Celine Dion to Backstreet boys have done huge runs in the city.
Food & Shopping - There are lots of malls and restaurants and the biggest names in the world have flagship locations here, great places to spend any winnings! And lower taxes mean you normally save on your purchases compared to neighbouring states.
Hotels - The hotel offerings in Vegas are huge and most of them have their own unique selling points, from high end malls to theme parks with roller coasters. It is worth checking out some of the bigger pool facilities, they can be a day out in themselves - especially the bellagio!
Overall a really interesting city to visit, even if you don’t want to gamble! It’s one of those cities everyone has to do once just to experience it.

Hotel hopping in Vegas
With all the famed glitz and glamour of Las Vegas, it was really tough for us to decide which hotel to stay in because all the options are fantastic. In the end, we decided to try out a series of hotels so that we could fully experience all that Vegas has to offer.
We started off with Hotel Rio, which is basically an all-suites hotel that was pretty luxurious. Then we moved over to The Venetian Hotel that had some of the best restaurants we visited on this trip. Lastly, we stayed at Wynn Hotel where even the base room we booked was massive in size. It was eye-opening to experience the differently designed hotels.
My overall rating of the experience: 4 out of 5 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Vegas: city of lights, smiles, and memories ✨
XS Nightclub is probably my favorite club in Vegas hands down. There’s a dance floor inside and a bunch of area to relax and also dance outside so you’ll never feel too hot and stuffy. 💃🪩
The hotel is BEAUTIFUL too. Gorgeous inside and its connected to the Encore hotel too so if you want to go to day clubs in vegas, the Encore Beach Club is one of the highly rates beach clubs here.
Also, the coolest DJ’s of XS Nightclub is Chainsmokers! I’ve seen them 3 times so far at XS and they never disappoint 🤩
Las Vegas really is an escape away from reality✨
