Pancake set at Aoyama West Garden, the flagship cafe of long-established confectionery store Ginza West.
This café is located in Minami-Aoyama and offers fine sweets and light meals. It is so popular with tourists that there is a long waiting list on weekends.
Among the many cafe-only menu items, I ordered the popular pancake set.
I was enchanted by the smooth browned pancakes!
The pancakes are so thick yet fluffy.
They are the most delicious, with a mildly sweet, gentle, and comforting flavor.
We didn't have to wait long to get in around 1:00 p.m. on a weekday.
The terrace surrounded by greenery is heated and highly recommended.

It offers a breakfast menu including toast and paninis with drinks from open until 11:00.
I ordered the buttered toast set (1,500 yen). Drinks are available for an additional 300 yen.
The buttered toast is filled with long, thin shavings of butter, and the appearance of the toast is very uplifting.
The topping of choice is honey. Needless to say, it goes great with the salty butter! The bread is also crispy and really delicious❤️

FOMO me booked a trip to JAPAN to see the Gundam
Just back from my third Japan trip (will share in a later post) however this got me reminiscing about my first time going to Japan.
I’m the typical tourist influenced by Japanese culture. Therefore I chose to go Japan after saving up enough from my paycheques 😂 + I saw that the Yokohama Gundam factory was going to close down, so FOMO me booked a trip immediately!!!
To summarise, I was excited, but also terrified because I had no idea how to travel Surprisingly, things were pretty simple, because the signs were in different languages.
For my first time here, I did what I would think of as the “Tourist bare minimum” which is to go to the sightseeing points that everybody is listing down online. I would say it’s a safe way to explore, especially when you don’t know a lot about how things work in another country.
PLACES I WENT
- Shinjuku (Kabuki-cho tower, ToHo cinemas - Godzilla head)
- Shibuya (Scramble, 109, Donki)
- Tokyo (Tokyo train station)
- Mount Fuji
- Kamakura
- Yokohama (Gundam factory)
I would suggest renting bicycles or scooters, especially in areas outside of the city because there is a lot of walking involved and waiting of buses. But do know that if you are renting in high human traffic areas, it will be a hassle to the locals as well as other pedestrians

Everyone advises that cash must be brought around everywhere because not all the businesses except cards. This is very true.

Watching trains running in and out from the room was a highlight, especially at night.

This building`s name is "New-Marunouchi Building". The reason why "New" is Marunouchi building already exists over a street.
That`s why even though this Shin-Marunouchi building is constructed 15 years before, the name is "New-Marunouchi building".
It quickly became a landmark building in the area as it was one of the first new buildings in the redevelopment of the area around Tokyo Station.

It covers an area of about 58.3 hectares, with vast grassland, tree-lined paths, and many plants and flowers. In spring, the cherry blossoms in the garden are in full bloom, attracting many tourists and photography enthusiasts.

At Hudson Lounge on the 1st floor of InterContinental Tokyo Bay, they are offering limited-time pancakes and parfaits with a Christmas theme.
We ordered the Strawberry Snow Dome Pancakes and the Christmas Parfait with Strawberry and Pistachio (both priced at 3,300 yen).
The fluffy soufflé pancakes are filled with pistachio cream and strawberry mousse glacé, topped with a white chocolate dome decoration❄️.
When you pour warm berry sauce over it, you can enjoy the rich sweetness of the white chocolate combined with the tangy, sweet berries🍓
The parfait, boldly topped with an éclair, was also delicious!
Both pancakes and parfaits will be available until January 5, 2025.
Both are highly recommended as desserts to celebrate Christmas🌲

MARRON PAPIER of seoul, a flower café from Korea,has been decorated with a tree and in Christmas mode since November💖
Every year during this season, the shop is very popular and there is a long line on weekends. When I visited on a weekday just before 1:00 p.m., there were two groups waiting in line.
We ordered three kinds of Christmas sweets and shared them with our friends.
We ordered cupcakes, carrot cake, green tea cookies, raspberry mocha, and milk tea.
My favorite was the carrot cake! It was moist, fluffy, and delicious🥕
Overall, cafe is cute and exciting. It gets more crowded as Christmas approaches, so an early visit is recommended.

Visiting the Gundam Base at Diver City Odaiba was a dream come true for any Gundam fan! As soon as I stepped in, I was surrounded by an epic display of Gundam models of all shapes and sizes. From classic favorites to rare and limited editions, it was like a paradise for mecha lovers.
I marveled at the intricate details of each model, some towering over me while others showcased impressive craftsmanship in miniature size. There was even a section where I watched experts assembling kits—pure magic! I couldn’t resist picking up a kit or two for myself.
Being at the Gundam Base was like being part of the Gundam universe. The displays, the energy, and the sheer scale of it all made this visit unforgettable!

My trip to see the Unicorn Gundam at Odaiba was a total blast! As I walked up, the life-sized Gundam loomed tall and impressive—it was like seeing an anime legend come to life! The details on the massive robot were incredible, and I couldn’t wait to snap some epic photos.
The highlight? Watching it transform! The Gundam lit up and shifted modes, making the experience even more magical. I felt like I was in the middle of a Gundam episode. I took tons of pictures posing with the towering mecha—it’s not every day you stand next to a giant Gundam!

Always a good time of family fun at Disneyland!
Disneyland is a great place that is family-friendly to visit! We went to the one in Tokyo and it was quite crowded. One of the rides that we thoroughly enjoyed and is highly recommended for children is the Winnie the Pooh ride.
The ride seats are moved by magnetic tracks so you feel super immersed in the colourful world. It will definitely be engaging for the kids!

Visiting Tokyo Tower was like stepping into a scene from a movie! As I walked through the bustling streets, the bright red tower stood tall and proud against the city skyline. I couldn’t resist snapping photos with Tokyo Tower as my background—it made for the coolest shots!
Once I reached the tower, I rode the elevator up to the observation deck. The view from the top was absolutely breathtaking! Seeing Tokyo spread out beneath me, with all its lights and buildings, was unforgettable. The excitement of being up there made me feel on top of the world!
Back on the ground, I enjoyed more street views of the tower glowing brilliantly at night. Tokyo Tower is a must-see—perfect for iconic photos and stunning city views!

Visiting the Mugiwara Store at Tokyo Tower was a One Piece fan’s dream come true! Right inside the iconic Tokyo Tower, this store was packed with all things One Piece. Walking in, I was surrounded by shelves of awesome merchandise—figures, apparel, and exclusive items you can only find here.
I had so much fun checking out the life-sized statues of Luffy and the Straw Hat crew. It felt like I’d stepped straight into the anime! The store was buzzing with excitement, and every corner had something cool to discover.
Snagging some exclusive One Piece gear made the experience even better. If you’re a fan, the Mugiwara Store is a treasure chest of fun, and the setting in Tokyo Tower makes it even more epic!
