#outdooradventure #slovenia #lakebled
Lake Bled is the perfect destination for outdoor activities, surrounded by stunning natural beauty. We spent a peaceful late afternoon rowing our charming swan-shaped boat across the calm, emerald waters of the lake, soaking in the serene atmosphere. Around us, others were enjoying water paddling, their laughter echoing softly across the lake. The gentle ripples created by our oars and the reflection of the iconic Bled Island in the distance made the experience feel almost magical. It was the kind of moment that captures the essence of Lake Bled — tranquil, beautiful, and unforgettable.

Rainy Day Charm: Exploring Ljubljana’s Old Town
#europetrip #slovenia #ljubljana
Wandering through Ljubljana's Old Town on a rainy day was a truly charming experience, as the drizzle added a magical atmosphere to the cobblestone streets and historic architecture. The iconic Dragon Bridge, with its imposing dragon statues, stood as a symbol of the city’s strength and legend, even more captivating against the soft glow of rain-soaked stone. Nearby, the beautiful buildings lining the riverfront showcased a mix of Baroque and Art Nouveau styles, their facades glistening under the gentle rain. Crossing the Triple Bridge, we were treated to lovely views of the Ljubljanica River, which reflected the colors of the buildings and passing umbrellas. Despite the wet weather, the Old Town retained its warmth and charm, making it a memorable and picturesque stroll through one of Europe’s most enchanting capitals.
Exploring The Karst of Postojna Cave@Slovenia
Postojna Cave is one of Slovenia’s most famous and stunning natural attractions, located near the town of Postojna. It is part of a massive karst cave system stretching over 20 kilometers, with about 5.3 kilometers accessible to visitors. Known for its underground railway—the only one of its kind in the world—the tour begins with a 2-kilometer train ride through a series of mesmerizing chambers and formations, followed by a guided walk to explore stalactites, stalagmites, and flowstones.
Key highlights of the cave include:
1. The Brilliant: A dazzling white stalagmite that serves as the symbol of Postojna Cave.
2. The Proteus or Olm (“Human Fish”): A rare cave-dwelling amphibian found exclusively in this ecosystem.
3. The Concert Hall: A vast chamber with excellent acoustics, often used for performances.
The cave maintains a cool year-round temperature of 8–10°C, so warm clothing is recommended.

Graffiti Art of Ljubljana City Center, Slovenia
Trubarjeva Cesta in Ljubljana is a vibrant street known for its eclectic graffiti and street art. This pedestrian-friendly area is filled with colorful murals, quirky designs, and a variety of creative expressions that line the walls, adding a unique urban charm. While the graffiti might give the street a slightly gritty appearance, it contributes to its authenticity and reflects the local artistic culture.
The area is also home to numerous small shops, cozy cafés, and diverse eateries, making it a great spot to explore both art and local flavors. It connects to other cultural landmarks, such as the Metelkova Art Center, which is another hotspot for street art enthusiasts. The combination of street art and the lively atmosphere makes Trubarjeva a must-visit for anyone seeking a more alternative side of Ljubljana 😊😊😊.
Slovenia's capital Ljubljana, take the cable car to the castle for a panoramic view.
Slovenia's capital: Ljubljana, with a population of about 300,000 people.
The English name 'Slovenia' is the only country name in the world that contains 'love' 🥹❗❗
The most striking feature is the Baroque-style pink Franciscan Church of the Annunciation, which is considered the landmark of this town.
In addition, there are the Three Bridges (Dragon Bridge, Butcher's Bridge, Triple Bridge).
The dragon is the guardian of Ljubljana, so naturally, there is a Dragon Bridge.
The Dragon Bridge is 33 meters long, with dragon statues at each of the four corners.
Side shots can capture the dragon's wings and tail.
On weekends when there is a market, the sides under the Triple Bridge are open for free.
Found the castle, tickets on-site are 16 euros per person,
You can enjoy the beauty of the bell tower, as well as the church and museum.
Finally, take the cable car to move up layer by layer to enjoy the castle view,
and then layer by layer to get a panoramic view of Slovenia.
Not only can you see the place where you took photos at the Franciscan Church of the Annunciation earlier,
but you can also see various red brick houses and canals, and even small boats traveling on the canals❗ It's worth a shot.

Embracing Serenity: Immersed in Nature at Lake Bohinj
#closetonature #100waysoftravel #naturebeauty #slovenia #bohinj #lakeday
Lake Bohinj, Slovenia’s largest natural lake, offers a perfect escape into nature’s tranquility. During our two-night stay near the lake, we fully immersed ourselves in its serene beauty. The lake’s glassy, mirror-like surface reflected the surrounding mountains, creating a breathtaking backdrop that made every moment feel magical. We spent our days kayaking across the calm waters, soaking in the pristine environment, and hiking around the lush, green trails that circled the lake. The peaceful atmosphere, with the soft sound of water lapping against the shore, provided the perfect retreat from the world, allowing us to truly relax and connect with nature. It was the ideal setting for slowing down and recharging amidst Slovenia’s stunning landscapes.
Green. Active. Healthy.
An earthly paradise of snow-capped peaks, turquoise-green rivers and Venetian-style coastline, Slovenia enriches its natural treasures with harmonious architecture, charming rustic culture and sophisticated cuisine.
Slovenia is a small but topographically diverse country made up of portions of four major European geographic landscapes—the European Alps, the karstic Dinaric Alps, the Pannonian and Danubian lowlands and hills, and the Mediterranean coast.

Vintgar Gorge is such a gem!
Lot of people say that it's overrated but I think it is totally worth it! You can book your timeslot on the website which shows when should you visit, but generally there are a lot of people all day long. Walking through the gorge is one way only, takes around 1-2 hours depending on your pace and the number of pictures you would like to take. Wearing a helmet is obligatory, they are providing it at the beginning of the tour. It is even more beautiful than on the pictures, especially on a sunny day.
At the end you can choose between two options how would you like to get back to the starting point. I chose the King of Triglav path and it was a great decision, amazing view to the mountains during the 1-1.5h long hike. #100WaysOfTravel#slovenia #vintgar
A Goregous lake and vibe
This is a stunning lake. The water is clear and you can see the fish swimming inside. I was fortunate and glad that I stayed around here for 4 nights. I think it's worth doing so. You see besides the lake itself, there are other things to do as well. The castle makes for a nice activity. And if you are into nature, exploring the bled National Park will allow you several wonderful experiences.
Speaking of the lake, this was summer and it did get hot during the day. So I used the sunset hours and early mornings to spend time around the lake. It was very memorable, that peaceful feeling. Come weekends there were lot of people cycling. It's got a nice 6km long perimeter. I was told on Fridays there is a free tour as well. I was just very happy to have found a nice guesthouse and some delicious restaurants. This and the lake vibe made for a very happy stay.

A gateway to Slovenia
#myhiddengems
I was so glad I picked lujubljana as part of one of my trips. It was a refreshing change from the other very touristy destinations that i visited before here. Surprisingly with so much to offer, this city is still not as over crowded or popular as neighbouring countries with an influx of tourists in season. This worked as a blessing for me. It is a walkable, green, enjoyable place that makes the most wonderful city break. Not only that but in just half an hour you can be in the middle of the most beautiful nature.
My food and snacking experiences here were fun too. Besides the easy availability of pizza's and pastas due to the proximity to Italy. I did manage to try several traditional food items. There’s plenty of comfort food with Slovenia’s most famous soups, dishes of potato dumplings, lots of meat and veggie dishes. Service can be slow so come for a leisurely dinner rather than a quick lunch.
There’s plenty of comfort food with Slovenia’s most famous soups, dishes of potato dumplings, lots of meat and veggie dishes. The number of castles, churches and the museum was surprisingly good.

Lake Bohinj, Slovenia
After visiting Lake Bled and the nearby quaint little town Radovljica (known for beekeeping traditions), we drove for 30 more minutes to reach Lake Bohinj, nestled in the Triglav national park.
Compared to Lake Bled, this lake has a more laid-back and local vibe, and also has hot air balloon services. People are also swimming, SUP and kayaking here, but the whole setting is more pure nature because of Triglav, which is the highest mountain in Slovenia (2864m, part of the Juliana Alps). Note this is the only national park in Slovenia.
Apart from the lake area, there are canyons, valleys and hiking trails in the national park. Lots of outdoor activity options, you won’t get bored. #slovenia #summervacation ##Lakebohinj
Lake Bled - fun day with water activities
Lake Bled is such a gem in Slovenia. Despite its popularity, there’s still so much authenticity!
Easy to get to from Ljubljana with car or bus, and I love the fact that it’s so easy accessible, and people can swim, kayak, SUP in the lake. It’s a lake for everyone, and offers beautiful views from different angles. The water color looks most amazing in mid-afternoon, but definitely more calm and quiet in the early morning.
I visited the lake for a one-day trip, but would love to go back and stay for a few days in the future just to absorb the beautiful energy around the lake area 💯#lakebled #slovenia #summertrip
