The Stadthuys ✨
The Stadthuys is a historical building located in Malacca, the capital of Malacca, Malaysia. It is the oldest Dutch building in Southeast Asia. It is also commonly known as the Stadthuys Square. It is famous for its red exterior walls and the nearby red clock tower. It was originally a church and later the office of the Governor and Deputy Governor of the Netherlands.
The museum sets out summarized history of the historical invasions of the Portuguese, Dutch, English and Japanese. Weapons, clothing, and crockery used in an era are displayed in clean and clear glass casings, and descriptions along with the historical tales are made available in both Malay and English Languages.
Most rooms were air-conditioned so there was no need to rush through everything just to escape the heat. It is a huge place so it took more than 1 hours and half to go through everything. Overall, a good experience. ❤️

Malacca Bird Park ✨
The Malacca Bird Park is now open again after being closed to the public for a long time due to improvements to the place that serves various types of birds protected in fairly spacious cages. The place is located near the malacca zoo though its a bit more inside the woods.
I can see the peacock showing its beautiful feathers. During my visit not so many visitors as it is during weekday and people not aware this bird park already reopen.
A lot of beautiful birds that allow you to come up to closely. Really need to get the bird feed if you want very up close and personal.
The place is clean and well kept. Highly recommended. ❤️

Malacca Literature Museum ✨
The Literature Museum is a museum inside the Stadthuys Museum complex and one of the museums that’s free to visit as part of the entrance to the latter museum.
I was expecting a general history of literature, but this museum is really about the literature of Malaysia. The museum is lovingly kept with lots of information and exhibits of many notable Malaysian authors. There have old books and poetry of the legends writers.
The place is not big and the building is in its original condition. Has a great exhibition on Malay writers and their contribution to Malaysia literature. Since it just free entrance, I recommend it to all of you. ❤️

Hueman Studio ✨
Very happy to have stumbled upon this shop. They sell all manners of functional wood products, coconut husk products, handmade bags, etc. They are made of hard woods, chengal and many more.
Their staff has a good eye for the product they curates. They are always special, a nice twist to local product design you will never get elsewhere, definitely not on Jonker Street. Though prices are on the higher side for these local artisan products, it’s really nice to know it goes back to the community at the end of the day.
Wish I could take home everything from this shop. The owner is super passionate and knowledgeable about the crafts in his shop, some of which are his own. Lots of nice wood carvings, wood kitchen items, batik, weaving, prints, bags. Support quality Malaysian crafts and buy your souvenirs here.
Totally recommended if you are looking for memento that is uniquely Melaka. ❤️

Having a small shopping mall right next to the hotel. And the location is convenient to go anywhere. Highly recommend to staying here when going to melaka. ❤️

Tham Siew Inn Artist Gallery ✨
I really enjoy my experience in this art gallery.
Beautiful and amazing watercolor paintings.
Since I came on weekday, I literally being the only one there.
The owner and artist, Mr Tham was in the store so it felt quite exciting to see the artist in person. You will see displays of his work and his accomplishments laid out tastefully in the spacious shop.
Free entrance and you can buy variety postcard of the paintings there for RM2 each and handmade bookmark for RM10. Other paintings for sale were ranging from hundreds to tens of thousands ringgit which is not too expensive considering that these are all one of a kind pieces. You can personally give money contribution in the box at the second space of the art gallery. ❤️

The Malay and Islamic World Museum ✨
Malay and Islamic World Museum is a museum about Malay and Islamic cultures in Malacca. The museum displays information about the spread of Islam in the world, important and historical Malay and Muslim figures, a civilization that must be remembered and cared for by our children and grandchildren in the future, history cannot be lost.
Very informative site with lots of details and history of the Malay heritage in Malacca and the region. Lots of artifacts to be seen and give a glimpse of the life of the Malay people at various times in history. Displays may not be the most spectacular, but you can learn a lot from the History of the region.
Reasonable ticket price and very informative.

Asiatic Hotel Melaka ✨
The hotel is clean and location is very strategic. Not very far from the city, also not very close that we had to deal with the traffic. Hotel rate is average for budget hotel. Fairly new hotel so everything is still in good condition
The room is complete with basic necessities and we love the aesthetic of the hotel. Love the design of the shelf as it has so many compartments for you to display or sort out our luggage during packing & unpacking.
Parking is provided but limited for the hotel though customers can still park in the areas nearby but may be subjected to paying parking fees.
Would recommend staying at this hotel and we would consider coming back the next time we're in Malacca. ❤️

Melaka Crocodile Farm ✨
Plan your trip wisely as the place can be hotter than you can imagine. We enjoyed the crocodile-feeding show very much. Many types of crocodiles are there. Plus we can feed the small animals but you need to buy the food at the entrance counter first, when you buy entrance tickets. Really a memorable experience to interact with all the lovely small animals there and great experience to see crocodiles up close without fear.
The ones that I loved the most is the snake show. The guy doing the show knows exactly what he is doing. Good informative sessions reagrding snakes and its venoms, how to identify and run away from snakes.
The crocodile feeding show is awesome, you get too see how crocodiles eat. Simply love this place. the staffs are also very friendly and nice, they treat their guests really well and they gave information well about the animals. Overall experience is great and I'm happy with the visit. ❤️

Kampung Hulu Mosque, Malacca ✨
The oldest masjid in Melaka and the third in Malaysia. Located in Bandar Melaka. Praying inside the mosque feels like you are back in the old days. Beside the mosque, there are old cemeteries. It was told that the syeikh was the one who initiated the mosque. The syeikh was buried at the mosque moseleum.
The mosque is an example of vernacular Malay architecture, and is a nice bit of history in the old city. The mosque is a nice place to visit during a short stay in Malacca, and is close to other religious structures that show the religious diversity in Malaysia.
The architecture of this mosque is similar to that of Masjid Tengkera, it is well preserved by the state government and serves as a tourist attraction. However, recent checks by the Islamic authority revealed that the mosque's direction is not exactly towards the Kaaba in Mecca, and corrections will be made by the Melaka Islamic authority. The surrounding area of the mosque is clean and easy to access, which makes it a great place to perform prayers.
Overall, I found my visit to this mosque to be a positive experience and would recommend it to others interested in visiting historical landmarks in Melaka. ❤️

The History and Ethnography Museum ✨
A must visit to learn about the history of Melaka and the monuments you still see today. Good illustrations and plenty of interesting objects and information.
Full of information in the museum and also the replicas stuff that they have where you can hold the object for a bit.
This museum complex is actually quite big and will take time to visit all of its exhibitions hall. There’re also some hidden photo spot area inside this museum, since Dutch Square most likely crowded with people.
All in all, its a solid educational exhibit of the history of Malacca, but it could do a bit better with directional signs between each gallery. The text on some of the cards along the exhibits are also a bit small. ❤️

Baba House Melaka ✨
Absolutely stunning heritage hotel. It's clearly been attentively renovated and is clean and comfortable, especially considering the price. It's ideally located right next to Jonker Walk and walking distance to most of the tourist attractions.
My bed was comfortable with fluffy pillows, and slept well. Wifi was excellent throughout the hotel vicinity.
Took some time to explore the building. Several photography spots, beautiful wooden stairs, colorful traditional murals with wooden windows with panels, collection of Nonya heritage objects and furniture, interesting Chinese names of rooms or doorways which each have a small placard nearby with explanations.
The staff are most commendable, always ready to serve! Thank you for making my short stay a memorable one. Definitely recommend Baba House! ❤️

Democratic Government Meseum ✨
This museum is an interesting museum to visit and learn about the democratic system in Malaysia. The exhibitions are limited but give some useful knowledge about Malaysian political system and politics in general and much details about political polls in Malaysia during the past till the present.
The ground floor of the building has exhibits on government before colonial times, different forms of governments and the heads of state of Malacca.
The exhibits are all good quality and the descriptions are well written. The museum is dedicated to a very specialist subject and I found it informative, though not all that entertaining. It felt like reading an encyclopedic entry rather than anything written with real passion. I think it would be more enjoyable for a political scientist or the locals. ❤️

Malaysia Heritage Studio ✨
The place it quite big with a cool traditional houses in the outside and modern look in the inside
The main attraction here is a replica of a traditional state house in Malaysia and ASEAN countries which exhibits its own architectural design. Not only the architecture is interesting, but these houses are also decorated with old and traditional antiques.
You can learn the tradition from each states, all houses has their unique design, architectural marvel from each state. More description of the differences and particular characters of each houses makes it more educational.
There are some cultural shows also where you can enjoy it. Overall very satisfying experience through traditional history. ❤️

Hatten Hotel Melaka ✨
Hotel was close to many popular attractions so it was very easy to just walk around to explore the city. The room was comfortable and spacious. The hotel staff and the counter staff was very friendly and able to provide clear informations when I asked them.
There is a bridge link from the hotel at second floor to Dataran Pahlawan Melaka Mega Mall and an overheadbridge to Mahkota Parade.
Generally, the operator and counter staffs are very attentive and helpful. They sent the house keeper to help us to clear the smell of the cigarette that generated from the next room by spraying the room and getting a smoke filter on the corridor.
Very comfortable to stay here and would recommend to my friends and families that looking for a central area to tour Malacca over 3 or 4 days. ❤️

Christ Church Melaka ✨
One of the most iconic landmark in Melaka. Easy to find and is located within the popular tourist area and a stone's throw away from Jonker Night Market. Strolling around the area and you will find other beautiful old historical buildings that still well preserved.
The place is clean and safe. Visitors often enjoy walking around and taking photos in this area or experiencing the colorful bicycles here. A lots of souvenir shop lot here. Also have trishaw that very creative and beautiful. They decorate the trishaw with cartoons character and put some speakers playing songs. The kids really love it and the driver will ask you what song you want to hear.
Well maintained, not much of an architecture marvel but the vibe and the historical significance is beyond me. ❤️

Jaya Mata Knife Gallery, Malacca ✨
I was really surprised at how cool this museum was. I have seen plenty of knife galleries that are really just collections on display. This however, is a whole museum about the history of blades around the world and how they are made. There are plenty of neat displays like selfie corners, a full smithing room where you can try out the tools, a book that is connected to a big screen that changes the video display based on your page, and more.
It is small but well curated and full of the history of knifemaking, and interactive exhibits. Do catch the entertaining video of a knife sharpener in the far corner of the final room. Ground floor has wide selections of knifes, blades and kicthen silverware. Must visit place for blade euthsiast!
Highly recommend, especially since Malaysia has an important unique type of blade that gets a nice spotlight, too. The quality of blades in the shop look great! ❤️

Flor de La Mar Meseum ✨
From far you may already seen the replica of Flor de La Mar, the big Portuguese ship. This museum is all about the maritime activities in the golden era of Malacca.
Great collection of ships and artifact. The ship has 3 levels. You enter on the second level which combines with the 1st floor through a spiral stairs. This part contains most of the attractions. On the 3rd floor is the captains cabin. Out side of the ship under the stairs there is a shop which sells miniature replicas of ships. Further down there is an indoor muzium complex.
Its a great place to bring childrens to let them learn and feel inside the ship. Many articles and artifact can be seen here from Portugese and Netherland invasion of Malacca. Overall a good place to visit. Nice view also near with shore. ❤️

Melaka Street Art ✨
There were many more cute and high quality murals than I thought. It's not to the point of visiting, but I felt like it was a good place to take pictures when I stopped by while passing by.
This strret are between behind Jalan Kampung Kuil and Jalan Tukang Besi. MBSB cleaned up the backlanes making it very nice with benches and street lights. It is very pleasant for pedestrians to walk here since there are no cars and there is even a light breeze. Good respite from the hot sun since the back lanes are shaded from the houses.
this stretch as the wall murals are pretty nice and educational to some extend as they give an insight to how life was in the past and present. There are proper signages to guide you along the way, so do not be afraid of getting lost. Just slow down your pace and enjoy the wall arts and learn from them.

Taming Sari Tower ✨
If you are in Malacca, you definitely will not miss this panoramic view structure. Taming Sari Tower is a major attraction in downtown Malacca. At the highest peak of 105m, you can enjoy the panoramic views across the city center. Since there is only one tower, so on weekends or school holidays will be crowded with visitors. Probably a long line to get into the tower.
At the top of the tower, there is an observation deck where visitors can take photos, relax, and enjoy the view. The deck is spacious and offers 360-degree views, allowing visitors to take in the beauty of the city from all angles.
The staff at Menara Taming Sari are friendly and helpful, ensuring that visitors have a great experience. The tower is also wheelchair accessible, making it accessible to all visitors.
Overall, Menara Taming Sari is a fantastic attraction that should not be missed when visiting Malacca.

Malaysia Prison Museum ✨
This may not be as popular as other tourist attractions at Malacca, but I feel this place is really worth visiting. It is very educational, and you will get a glimpse of how prison would look like, as this place was previously a real prison
It was an unforgettable visit in my lifetime. The goosebumps I had was so real! The deep inside you walk the creepier it was. Many untold stories you can read through the prison cell walls. Begging for second chance and forgiveness were written throughout the walls and some impressive poems, regrets and drawings too.
You can learn more about the different types of punishments, uniforms and documents upstairs. There is a room where they hang the prisoners, but we are prohibited to take pictures. I would say it is an eye opening experience.
Overall, the Malacca Prison Museum provides an educational and engaging experience that will leave a lasting impression on visitors of all ages.

Melaka River Cruise ✨
This was one of the highlights of my Melaka trip. Really enjoyed this night boat cruise. Both side of the river were all lit up with different colored lights and this really made the cruise scenery really interesting and fun.
The cruise started off near Jonker Street, passing the river banks lined with shop houses painted with mural arts, restaurants, eateries and private housing, unfinished monorail tracks and looped back. The entire journey took around 30min. For the purchase of entrance tickets, it is more economical if bought online than when you walk in.
Recommended to ride on the boat on night, the night view is really amazing, at night the river is lit up with lights and boats also have some colorful lights fitted. ❤️

Jonker Street Night Market ✨
Jonker street one of the favorite tourist place whenever they go to Melaka. A famous street that is vastly different during day and night. Daytime is a good place to shop along the street for local snacks and souvenirs. Night time during weekends is a busy bazaar with tonnes of stalls selling street food and souvenirs
The place is filled with amazing food and local items. Make sure you bring enough cash on hand if you are planning to splurge. You can walk shop along longer street for souvenir, clothes, handmade stuffs, there are famous chicken rice ball, chicken rice, cendol, local authentical nyonya food along the street too.
I enjoyed browsing through the different items and bargaining with the vendors. I highly recommend this unique and enchanting experience to anyone who plans to visit Malacca. ❤️

DoubleTree by Hilton Melaka ✨
hotel was overall better than I expected. The room is very spacious and the bed and pillows are very comfortable. Stayed in the king one bedroom suite. Room is huge, nicely and tastefully appointed. Hotel staff is friendly and very accommodating.
Amenities in the hotel are top notched. Gym is very well equipped, comparable to very good quality gyms. Pool is small but sufficient for a relaxing swim.
The hotel staff were very friendly, approachable, knowledgeable in the local attractions and the surroundings. This hotel is smack in the middle between the old town and the shopping malls so it’s well strategically placed for anyone and everyone with diverse interests. ❤️

Dutch Square Malacca ✨
The highlight of the heritage city Malacca is this point where you can find a beautiful church and its surrounding buildings. Dutch Square or Red Square, is a must-visit destination when exploring the heritage city of Melaka in Malaysia. This historical site is a beautiful area filled with eye-catching Dutch colonial architecture just opposite the Malacca river, making it the perfect spot for taking memorable photographs.
The most striking feature of the Dutch Square is the bright terracotta-red Christ Church. Its distinctive architecture and decorations make it a popular spot for tourists and locals alike.
A lot of areas to sit and gain new perspective on the square including near the fountain and surrounding areas. Food and merchandise stalls are available adjacent to the square. ❤️

Melaka Straits Mosque ✨
Melaka straits mosque is one of beautiful mosques in the World. A unique mosque that appears to float on the sea. You can choose to admire the sea near the mosque or go inside to visit. If you want to go inside, there are dress codes for both men and women. If you don't meet the dress code requirements, you can go to the gate where there is a room that provides jubah and headscarves for free. After visiting, you can return them to the same place.
As soon as I entered the mosque, I was struck by the intricate designs and beautiful architecture. The interior of the mosque is adorned with stunning chandeliers, stained glass windows, and elegant calligraphy.
It's a good experience, and the surroundings are clean. You can enjoy the sea breeze, watch the sunset, and take some photos. Overall the scenery from the mosque is amazing. ❤️

Melaka Sultanate Palace Museum ✨
It is a must place to go when you at Malacca with family. I love the ambience of the surrounding and the museum external design & arts shows the ancient tradition that we should be proud as a Malaysian.
A replica wooden structure which takes the visitor through displays, illustrations and stories from the days of the Malaccan Sultanate.
I was totally amazed by the antique displayed and how the building was built. Spending around more than an hour to learn about history of Melaka was really a splendid experience
It was a great experience visiting the museum. It was well maintained and preserved. The ticket was affordable too and its suitable for kids to learn about our country heritage. ❤️

Baba & Nyonya Heritage Museum ✨
The Baba and Nyonya Heritage Museum in Melaka is a must visit for anyone interested in the history and culture of Peranakan Chinese. The museum offers a fascinating glimpse into the lifestyle, customs, and traditions of the Baba Nyonya community.
Very well maintained and preserved exhibits and artifacts which are passed down from generations to generations. There are some times for guided tours, but most of the time you'll be in there without a guide as you explore the many rooms and learn how the baba nyonyas came to be.
Overall experience was pleasant and it was interesting to see the details of the wooden furnishings and interior decorations. However, it would have been better if more information is provided to visitors during the visit. ❤️
