Palermo city was a charm 🇮🇹
#travelchecklist
Visiting Palermo was an unforgettable experience! 🏛️ My day began with a stroll through the vibrant markets of Ballarò and Vucciria, where you can savor fresh local produce and street food. The entrance to the Palermo Cathedral was free, and its stunning mix of architectural styles is worth exploring. ⛪ For a small fee of around €8, I toured the Cappella Palatina inside the Norman Palace, which features breathtaking mosaics.
Nearby, the picturesque Piazza Pretoria and its impressive fountain were highlights, as well as the peaceful Orto Botanico, perfect for a relaxing walk. 🌿 The blend of history, culture, and cuisine made my Palermo trip truly special. #trip #Palermo #Sicily #TravelTips #ItalianTravel #HistoricalSites
Best of Sicily
#weekendgetaways
All of Sicily is such an extraordinary holiday destination. And palermo happens to be the cultural , arts and tourism flag bearer. A city in the south of Italy, this place offers holiday goers excellent gastronomy, historical and cultural gems. Infact, sometimes it might even be a good idea to skip Rome and head straight to Palermo for a Sicilian holiday.
If architecture and photography is your thing. You've run into a treasure chest, when in Palermo. It is impossible to count all these rich villas, palaces or churches. Some of them interestingly were mosques in the past. Done with amazing mosaics that are living traces of Arab and Norman domination in the past. The architecture of Palermo perfectly depicts this cultural mix.
The plaermatian markets are also an experience to remember. The fair is the heart and soul of every town in Sicily. If you want to see what the real everyday life of local people looks like and become a part of it, a visit to one of the local bazaars is an absolute must.#weekendgetaways #italy #sicily #palermo

Best hot chocolate I have ever had.
Spinnato at Piazza Castelnuovo serves the best hot chocolate we had ever had such that we went there 4 times in the 3 days we were at Palermo. So good!!!! It is not a chocolate drink but instead, it is like melted chocolate. I do not know how they make their hot chocolate so the best way I can only describe is melted chocolate. It is hot and has a thick and smooth consistency. not the watered down type.
There are different hot chocolate creations for you to choose and I am sure you will be spoilt for choices.
There is 2 Spinnato facing each other, one sells coffee and one sells chocolate. You can sit at either of them and place order for any item.
Go for the original hot chocolate or their specialty coffee such as cognac coffee which warms you up in the cold

I managed
I managed to visit #palermo as part of my cruise ship trip. It is located in the #sicily island of #italy and it shows a bit different culture and architecture than most of the other places of the country. There are many churches, Parthenon, palaces and many small squares. There are also nice shopping opportunities around the place. It is easily accessible because of the cruise ship terminal and the airport nearby.

Santa Rosalia Sanctuary 🗺️
#timetotravel
The Santa Rosalia Sanctuary in Palermo, Sicily, is a hidden gem perched high above the city, offering not only a spiritual retreat but also breathtaking panoramic views. My visit to this sanctuary was a serene and inspiring experience.
The climb to the sanctuary, up the winding staircase carved into the mountain, is a pilgrimage in itself. As I reached the top, I was greeted by the serene atmosphere of the sanctuary and its chapel dedicated to Santa Rosalia, the patron saint of Palermo.
But what truly took my breath away was the sweeping vista of Palermo and the Mediterranean Sea below. It's a view that left me in awe of the natural beauty of Sicily.
Santa Rosalia Sanctuary is a place of both religious significance and natural wonder. It's a must-visit for those seeking tranquility, spirituality, and stunning views in Palermo. #italy #sicily #palermo
