Nusa Penida Island is located in Bali, Indonesia, and is home to many beautiful natural attractions. One of the most famous landmarks is Kelingking Beach, also known as the Dinosaur Island, due to its T-Rex-like shape. This spot is popular among bloggers and tourists who love to take photos and share them on social media.

Bali is really awesome. I went there in July and it is the best to visit this island between July and October. The weather was really good, warm and dry. I spent 10 days in Bali and I guess it was not enough. I suggest you visit at least 15 days. My itinerary: Ubud - 4 days Seminyak - 5 days Nusa Penida - 1 day. Ubud is a must visit part of Bali. Here you can visit a lot of cultural and historical buildings, markets, different restaurants. You can feel real Balinese culture in Ubud. There are a lot of small and convenient hotels around Ubud which starts from 15$. While visiting Ubud, I strongly suggest you to visit Rice fields, Gate of heaven, waterfalls and chocolate factory beach which can be a bit far but comfortable to go from Ubud. Seminyak is more vibrant and energetic than Ubud. There are a lot beach clubs, nightclubs and different restaurants. We visited Potatohead beach club which was amazing. Even though it was pricey it was worthwhile. Nusa Penida was my biggest regret. Why I spent only 1 day there? It was my last day in Bali but time was so little I could not enjoy Nusa Penida enough. I regret I haven’t planned much time for Nusa Penida. i suggest to soend at least 3 days there. The main draw of secret penida is the seaside setting and the staff. The food was nice but not the best we’ve ever eaten. The atmosphere of the restaurant is perfect. The staff is great and very kind. It is calm and they have everything that is needed: a swimming pool, good food—we tried breakfast and grilled fish and tuna for lunch. Their sourdough bread is delicious. Baguettes and almond croissants are the best. The food is delicious and the pastries from the bakery are incredible! Very good quality matcha and coffee. The restaurant has multiple levels, as well as separate areas for smoking and non smoking guests which is good. They also have a separate bar and a restaurant area. There is a small pool overlooking the sea where you can relax and enjoy your food and drinks on the floor loungers. They do not serve soft drinks, while the other options are all milk shakes/smoothies or one juice. The non-alcoholic drinks menu can improve. The island is incredibly beautiful, with sunlight reflecting off the bright blue sea. We took a one-day trip tour from Sanur Pier, departing around 7 AM. We visited five key locations, perfect for check-ins and photo ops, and returned around 3 PM. The travel time from the pier to the island is about 1 hour, and traveling between the various locations (1 to 2 to 3, etc.) takes a considerable amount of time (30-60 minutes). The roads are quite rough as they are under construction. Despite the hot weather, it is worth visiting Bali at least once.

Anyone exploring Nusa Penida, you just have to visit this spot, be it for your insta cover pics or simply sitting on the sands to enjoy the waves. Unlike Kelingking beach, the route to Diamond beach is much safer, with only a short distance having no handles. Nonetheless, it was worth the time and effort 💯 The way down was around 30 minutes, and I definitely would recommend reaching there early as it was super crowded when we made our way back up (around 11.30am). I would also recommend wearing sport shoes and bringing slippers to change when you get down there as the road is sandy. Hear the waves 🌊 crash against the rocks on the ocean when you’re down there. Kelingking Beach is one of the biggest attractions in Nusa Penida and that’s because of its famous rock formation that is shaped like a T-Rex. What To Expect When You Visit Kelingking Beach? After the 30-minute drive from the harbour, you will find yourself at Kelingking Beach, Nusa Penida and the first thing you will notice is a nice row of warungs (restaurants) which offer fabulous views from the cliff top. Then, you can either make your way to the viewpoints or head down the stairs to the beach below. Nusa Penida is making a lot of investment in better access routes to the beach and the path here is reasonably clearly marked and there are decent handrails down the stairs. Getting to the beach is not a small undertaking. You can expect to spend between 30 and 60 minutes going down and 40 to 80 minutes getting back up to the main level of Nusa Penida. You’ll want to rest a while before you go back up and make sure to bring drinks and snacks, there are no vendors on the beach. Other Attractions On The Nusa Islands There are plenty of attractions on Nusa Penida and the Nusa Islands in addition to Kelingking Beach and we’d recommend that you check out some of the following: Broken Beach We think this unique beach is a major selling point for Nusa Penida. You can’t actually go down to the beach, unlike at Kelingking Beach, but you can get some incredible photographs of the beach from above and its unique bay formation. It’s also very close to Angel’s Billabong which makes it a no-brainer if you’re trying to explore the island. Atuh Beach This beach is tucked away on the Eastern Tip of Nusa Penida and it’s just a short walk down some rock stairs to reach the beach below. It’s best to visit Atuh Beach at high tide as this beach is extremely tidal (unlike Kelingking Beach) and the scenery varies dramatically with the tides. Crystal Bay Crystal Bay is one of the best snorkeling spots in Bali (and given you can’t snorkel at Kelingking Beach, this will make up for that), the waters are, indeed, crystal clear. It’s also a great place to hire a boat for a trip out to Manta Bay where you can swim with Manta Rays after warming up in Crystal Bay. I had visited Bali before the pandemic, and it was incredibly beautiful and impressive.
