Discover the Natural Wonders of Yehliu Geopark, Taiwan
**Yehliu Geopark** is one of Taiwan's most famous natural landscapes, located along the north coast of the island. This geological wonder is renowned for its unique rock formations, carved by the sea over thousands of years. The park is named after the nearby Yehliu cape, and it offers visitors a chance to explore nature’s art gallery.
### **History and Natural Highlights**
Yehliu’s fascinating rock formations are a result of sea erosion, wind, and tectonic activity. The most iconic structure is the **"Queen's Head"**, a tall rock that resembles the profile of a queen. Other intriguing formations include the **"Fairy Shoe"**, **"Mushroom Rocks"**, and **"Sea Candles"**. These formations are spread across different zones in the park, each offering its own spectacular views.
### **Tips for Your Visit:**
- **Arrive early** to avoid the midday crowds and to get great photos of the rock formations without interruptions.
- **Wear sturdy shoes**, as the park involves a fair amount of walking on uneven surfaces.
- Be mindful of the weather—**bring sunscreen and a hat** if you visit during summer, as there’s limited shade.
- Don’t miss the **Yehliu Ocean World**, located nearby, which offers dolphin shows and underwater exhibits, perfect for families.
Exploring Yehliu can easily take half a day, so plan accordingly and enjoy a seafood meal at one of the local restaurants nearby to complete your day trip. The fresh seafood here is a must-try!

Chimei Museum Taiwan
I love this museum as they were satisfied my eyes. There's a lot of paintings and sculptures in European style. There is a audio recording of orchestra that you could enjoy around at 14.00 or 15.00 (sorry I forgot). They have 7-11 and starbucks. If you are the British Royal Family fans, they have the special exhibition for that. Last time, I spent around 200 TWD but the BRF part was different price. Their souvenir store also sells the replica of their collection.#taiwan #taiwantravel #taiwantourism
Nice business trip at Grand Hotel Taipei
I spent short business trip at Grand Hotel Taipei last month. The economic room was clean and their service was good. The receptionist could speak English well. They provide a good scenery and historical information. The pool is free of charge, however I couldn’t swim due to limited time. You can also take their free bus from MRT Zhongshan to hotel or take a walk from MRT Jiantan (but it will make you exhausted because you need to climb a high stairs). They provided various restaurants inside hotel. Hopefully I can spend holiday at there. thank #taiwantourism #taiwantravel #taiwantourism you
ShiFen Waterfall
Address: No. 10, PingXi District, New Taipei City, Taiwan
Getting there: I would recommend to drive or to follow a tour bus as it will be more convenient.
However if you prefer to go by train, you may follow this route: Take a TRA train from Taipei Main Station to Ruifang Station, then transfer to the Pingxi Line to Shifen Station.
Highlights: The Shifen waterfall park is located on the mainstream of Keelung River.
You will need to walk and hike for about 20 to 30 minutes from the entrance to reach the main waterfall. Along the path, there are some stores selling souvenirs and snacks. The price are slightly at the high side.
The fall’s height is about 20 meters while the width is about 40 metres, making it the broadest waterfall in Taiwan.

Taipei’s Famous Public Square 🛕✨
Liberty Square is home to The National Theater & Concert Hall and The Chiang Kai-Shek Memorial. Located in Zhongzeng district, the square has been the main gathering spot since 1970. At that time, martial one party rule prevailed in Taiwan. The memorial became an attraction after the death of Chiang Kai-Shek who relocated to Taiwan after the Chinese civil war. The National Theater and Concert Hall is among the first facilities for modern art performance to be established in Asia. Each year, international or local artists are known to host events at the hall.
I arrived there in the late afternoon and unexpectedly witnessed the flag-lowering ceremony which started at about 5pm. Liberty Square is huge and gets busy in the afternoon. It’s such a nice and well-maintained place. A must visit! The Hall was closed, but I could walk up the stairs of The Memorial to have a look around.
🔵Access to Liberty square is free.
How to go ➡️ Take the MRT 🚇(Songshan-Xindian line OR Tamsui-Xinyi line)to Chiang Kai-Shek Memorial Hall station. The square is a 5 mins walk from the station.

A Glimpse of Taiwan’s Vigorous Folk Faith🎋
Also known as Longshan Temple, it’s one of those places that you can’t miss in Taipei! The temple is one of the oldest in Taiwan. It’s also one of the top religious sites in the city dedicated to the Chinese Buddha of compassion, Guanyin. The temple was built in 1783 by Han immigrants from Fujian who used it as a place for gathering and worshipping.
Longshan Temple has a unique architecture and is also home to other divinities. It was jam packed when I arrived. I was instantly greeted by the crowd at the entrance as people were busy buying offerings. It was a bit overwhelming at first, but thank God a local friend was there to brief me about each divinity and their religious purpose. Near the exit, there’s a shop selling souvenirs and tokens which you can purchase as symbols of good luck, good fortune…etc My friend bought one for me and wished me a life filled with good luck and happiness 🙏✨(See second pic) There’s no entrance fee to access the temple.
How to go ➡️ Going there by MRT is super convenient as the temple is next to the station. Get off at Longshan Temple 🚇 station.

Taiwan’s most popular old street👣
Ironically, I never heard nor knew about Tamsui Old Street until my local friend took me there during my trip. The street is well known in Taiwan for its historical past and local delicacies. My friend told me that there was initially a proposal to expand the railway system with a part of it running through the old street, but the project was modified so as preserve the street which has been there for more than a century since the Qing Dynasty.
Some local delicacies are the iron eggs and Agei (transparent noodles wrapped in tofu).Since it’s a coastal village, there’s an abundance of seafood snacks along the street: baked squid, fried fish, shrimp rolls… I defo recommend the seafood there. Everything I ate was fresh and delicious! There are also lots of options around if you feel like shopping. I also wandered in the alleys along the street to explore around. The street was pretty crowded, especially on a Saturday afternoon.
How to go ➡️ We took the MRT to Tamsui Station and walked for a few minutes.

Colourful hidden gem in Taipei ✨
#historicplaces Fengtian Temple is a hidden gem at the foot of Tiger Mountain in Taipei’s Xinyi District. This beauty is tucked in the greenery and doesn’t fail to impress with its stunning architecture and vivid colourful carvings. The Heavenly Emperor is the main deity of the temple which is also knows as “The Temple of Heaven”. It is believed that an ancestor who resided in a cave of the mountain, worshipped the Heavenly Emperor and other deities before the cave mangled during Japanese colonisation. As such, the temple was reconstructed in 1922.
When I arrived, I was surprised to witness such a peaceful atmosphere. A few people were holding their burning incense and praying near the altar. The temple has a second floor from which you can have a view of the district, spot the famous Taipei 101 Tower and have a closer look at the intricate carvings. It felt so serene that I unexpectedly spent an hour staring at the view with a gentle breeze blowing my hair away. I wandered at the back of the temple and found what seems to be a hiking trail on the hill. If you plan to visit Taiwan, please add this hidden gem to your bucket list 🙏 The access to the temple was free.
Address ➡️ Fude Street, Xinyi District, Taipei
How to go➡️ I took a bus near my hotel after checking the route on Google Map.

TAIWAN - KENTING ✈️
Getting There - Take a flight to Kaohsiung & transit via a taxi/private car. ✔️
Attractions - Basically Kenting is all about resorts, beaches & the night markets. 🏖🛤
Hotels - I stayed in Cesaer Park Hotel (it’s like a resort)
Food & Restaurants - The best will be their night market! Taiwan milk tea is the best. I had it everyday. 😍 Beef cubes are available as well! other than that, their 7-11 has lots of variety of snacks and milk tea. (kinda different from Singapore 7-11)
Shopping - Kenting has not much shopping. More chilling and relaxing area. There are stalls around the night market for you to shop as well!

Wusanto Reservoir Taiwan
I love this place so much. But if you want to spend time and enjoy at this place, better rent car or motor bike, because the place is huge. The scenery is so pretty and you will enjoy about the story of Japanese who built this reservoir for Taiwan. Most of the buildings are in Japanese style. You can also try the Japanese traditional desserts and it looks so pretty and good. Worth to visit!#taiwan #taiwantourism #taiwantravel
JieFen Old Street
Address: Jishan St, Ruifang District, New Taipei City, Taiwan
Getting there: The easiest and cheapest way is to take a direct express bus from Taipei city. It stops at a few station in Taipei and I have taken from Ximen station.
Highlights: Jiufen is a mountain town in northeastern Taiwan, east of Taipei. The old street is a narrow alley with various shops on both sides, including food stalls, souvenir shops and tea houses. 😊
It is especially beautiful at night with its lantern decoration near the Ah Mei Tea House. There are also shops renting CheongSam (Chinese Traditional Outfit) where you can dress up and take some stunning shots!

Sky Lantern experience at ShiFen Station
Address: 226, Pingxi District, New Taipei City, Taiwan
Highlights: The ShiFen station is a very happening place especially at night. The railway track is surrounded by two sides of shops, mainly selling the sky lanterns, souvenirs and food stalls.
People will occupy the railway track to write their wishes on the lantern before praying and let it fly. The sky lantern is priced around NTD30-NTD100 depending on the size. I think it is very worth it to experience. Also, beware as there is real train coming through the track every hour and the shopkeepers will ask everyone to stay aside from the track for few minutes. It quite a cool experience seeing the train passing by the narrow track!
You may also have your dinner here while enjoying the beautiful night view.

Night Market @ Xin Dian
Xin Dian night market is one of the top few popular night market in Taiwan where there are lots of nice eateries to choose from. During my trip to Taiwan, I have visited this night market .This market is not very popular unlike the other few markets . But however the food were also very tasty with generous portions given. I like the spicy fish balls, sausages, fish soup and dessert. It is located in New Taipei City , about 30-40 mins drive from the city centre. One of the best hidden food street I would like to recommend. What I like about this food street was it is very accessible by public transport and food are selling at a affordable price.
The nearest metro station is Xin Dian Station.

I didn't d
I didn't dare miss visiting the Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall during my #taipei layover! ♥️
Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall is a huge space. I wish I didn't visit at noon cause it was terribly hot that time. I suggest visiting the place early in the morning or perhaps at 4pm in the afternoon. That way, you may enjoy the great cultural pieces it offers.

The famed TOILET RESTAURANT of #ximending, #taipei. 🍽
I saw this restaurant all over the news a few years back, so when I went to #taiwan, I made sure that I pay this restau a visit.
They serve their soup in a Toilet seat. Their desserts are served in a Squatter plate. Their tables are fashioned from a handwash drainage. Very creative! It was a unique experience. You should try! 🚽

Cheers Loft in #ximending, #taipei is a great place to stay when you are there. Stayed there for 1 night when I passed by #taiwan and I had a comfortable stay there.
They might be difficult to find and their automatic check-in machine might be hard to operate, but overall, I had a great time there. I met instant friends and we were all comfy in our bunk beds! 🛌 Major plus; booking fee was super cheap!
