Shiraito Nature Park in Fujinomiya City
Shiraito Nature Park's ginkgo trees and Mt. Fuji spots are not yet known to foreigners, so it's a hidden gem. Shiraito Falls is nearby, so you can go there together. It's about a two and a half hour car trip from Tokyo, but it's worth it. It's also about a 30 minute bus ride from Fujinomiya Station. There are toilet facilities, so you can go there without worry. #Shizuoka #ShizuokaTourism #ShiraitoNaturePark #StunningSpot 🏖️Atmosphere/Facilities: Stunning Mt. Fuji, toilets available 📍Location: Shiraito Nature Park 💰Price per person: Free 💞Reason for recommendation: You can see Mt. Fuji with a spectacular view

Sattata Pass in Shizuoka City.
Unfortunately, the observation deck, which is the best spot, has been temporarily closed since the flood a year or two ago, but you can see the blue Suruga Bay from the parking lot!
You can actually see Mt. Fuji behind the clouds in the second photo from the observation deck, so I hope you'll go there when the observation deck reopens!!
I went there before it was closed, but I couldn't see Mt. Fuji...
But the beautiful sea spread out before me, and I was happy to spend time relaxing and looking at the horizon🤍
There are some narrow mountain roads on the way to Sattata Pass, so please be careful.

[Shizuoka🇯🇵] Shrine with a view of the sea⛩️
Mount Kuno, home to Kunozan Toshogu Shrine, a shrine with a view of the sea.
You can get to Kunozan Toshogu Shrine by ropeway from Nihon-daira, but from the sea side you have to climb 1,159 steps.
It's called "Gochou" because it's 1,159 steps!
Perhaps it's the perfect weekend exercise? !
Of course, climbing the long stairs is tiring, but the view at the end of the climb is amazing!
On sunny days, the blue sea is especially beautiful💙
After the climb, head to the national treasure Kunozan Toshogu Shrine.
Take a break in this sacred place and enjoy the history.
Everyone, please go and check it out~

[Shizuoka🇯🇵] Lots of cute Jizo statues!
Located on the edge of Shizuoka City, Mariko is the 20th post town on the Tokaido Fifty-three Stations.
It's famous for its grated yam soup, but it has many other attractions!
There are over 300 cute Jizo statues lined up at Osako Fudoson.
The scenery is a bit like something out of a Ghibli movie🌎
On the road from National Route 1 to Osako Fudoson, a morning market is held on the 28th of every month, and it's very lively😚
We recommend taking a 20-minute walk from National Route 1 to reach Osako Fudoson!
We hope you'll take your time enjoying the nature of Maruko~
Just before Osako Fudoson, there is a cafe called Hashimukou.
If you get tired from your walk, please stop by here and take a break~

I stayed at the Izu Imai Hama Tokyu Hotel in Shizuoka Prefecture, Izu.
The hotel is very spacious, not just the rooms, so I took a walk around the premises 🚶♀️.
In addition to bars and restaurants, the hotel also has a pool, a children's play area, and a library, making it a great spot to enjoy even without leaving the hotel!
The beach is right in front of the hotel, making it an ideal destination for a summer vacation with kids 🌻. I chose a plan that included breakfast, and the breakfast at the open restaurant was very delicious 🍚.

Breathtaking Views of Mount Fuji from Nihondaira
Took this photo when I visited Shizuoka! The first one is from Nihondaira Yume Terrace!!
Even while moving by bus, the impressive Mount Fuji was visible, but the view from the terrace was incredible!!!!
The subsequent photos are from Nihondaira Zoo!
Since it was a weekday, there were few people, and it was nice to be able to watch the animals at leisure. I was especially surprised when a tiger came up close. Also, the red pandas were so small and incredibly cute.
There was also a super long slide, so definitely give it a try!!
I highly recommend Shizuoka!!!
Shizuoka City, Shizuoka Prefecture. "Sumpu Rakuichi" where you can find all the attractions of Shizuoka Prefecture
"Sunpu Rakuichi" is a place where you can find all the charms of Shizuoka, from food to souvenirs and crafts.
At the special venue, there was an exhibition and introduction of canned food companies and products in Shizuoka, titled "Canned Food Kingdom SHIZUOKA".
As a famous tea producing area in Japan, many tea brands were also exhibited.
Located in the station building "ASTY" of JR "Shizuoka Station", this is a place we recommend to tourists as a souvenir shop for Shizuoka specialty products.
Opening hours are from 9:00 to 21:00.

Know the truth and be afraid the right way
Previously, 60% of Japan's electricity was generated by thermal power plants and 30% by nuclear power plants.
However, because nuclear power plants use "nuclear" fuel, there has been a long-standing opposition movement, and since the Great East Japan Earthquake in 2011, voices calling for the suspension and abolition of nuclear power plants have grown louder, and several nuclear power plants have been shut down, with 80% now being generated by thermal power plants and 1% being generated by nuclear power plants.
I understand that it is dangerous. But why is it dangerous? What kind of measures are being taken against earthquakes and tsunamis?
I have been studying this.
At my local Hamaoka Nuclear Power Plant, based on the experience of 3/11, they have taken all sorts of measures to ensure that they will be safe even if a tsunami larger than that occurs.
Artificial levees and breakwaters to protect against tsunamis, thick waterproof doors to prevent water from entering the reactor building, double and triple backup power sources, cooling water, thick concrete walls for earthquake resistance and radiation shielding, nuclear power plant buildings designed to be earthquake-resistant, etc.
Perhaps this is not enough. Still, they have taken all these measures and also conduct regular disaster prevention drills. So isn't it okay to trust them?
Let's reduce fossil fuels as much as possible, cut down on CO2 emissions and costs, and use electricity that is kind to the environment and the household budget!
Well, enough about politics...
There's no admission fee, and you can learn this kind of knowledge, watch short movies, and play games, so I think it's a great place to play with children.
You can play there for half a day. There are restaurants and shops on the premises, and there are large stores nearby, so it's convenient.
Recommended for those who don't have nuclear power plants in their area, those who have nuclear power plants but no museum, and those who want to learn about nuclear power plants.
Nearby, there is Omaezaki Lighthouse, the holy land of "Yuru Camp△", and Hamaoka Sand Dunes, one of Japan's three largest sand dunes, so why not visit them while you're there?

A vast resort of about 500,000 tsubo spread across the forests of Izu.
We stayed at Laforet Resort Shuzenji Sanshisuimei on a family trip🏔
When we arrived, it was much bigger than we expected, a room with a spacious open-air bath like a villa.
The terrace was also spacious and the view was amazing.
We could see Mt. Fuji and sat on the sofa on the terrace the whole time.
A short walk from our room there is also a large hot spring bath♨️The outdoor open-air bath that we took in the cold was made of rocks and we could see the stars🌌
The next day, my younger brother and dad played tennis on the tennis court. This is a recommended inn for group trips.

[Shizuoka Prefecture] Introducing Kakegawa Castle, a famous castle in the Tokai region!
Kakegawa Castle 🏯 in Kakegawa City, Shizuoka Prefecture, was built by the Asahina clan, a vassal of the Imagawa clan, and during the Sengoku period, Yamauchi Kazutoyo took over and extensively remodeled the castle.
The beautiful castle, known as the "Famous Castle of the Tokaido Region," was lost in a major earthquake in 1854, but was restored in 1994 as Japan's first "full-scale wooden castle tower," and remains in its original form to this day.
If you climb the castle tower, you can see the Tokaido Shinkansen train running nearby, and enjoy a spectacular view of the city of Kakegawa.

[Shizuoka & Yamanashi] Where to see Mt. Fuji? Introducing the best spots to see it
This time, I will introduce Mt. Fuji seen from various directions and spots where you can see Mt. Fuji.
① Mt. Fuji seen from the north
As a Shizuoka resident, I would like to say, "Mt. Fuji is definitely Shizuoka!", but to be honest, I think Mt. Fuji seen from the north has the most beautiful shape that resembles Mt. Fuji.
The photo shows Mt. Fuji taken from the shore of Lake Kawaguchi.
There are many tourist attractions around Lake Kawaguchi, and it is a recommended spot. There is also a "Mt. Fuji Gathering Monument" that collects stones from mountains with the name "Fuji" from all over the country.
The popular luxury hotel "Hoshinoya Fuji" is also in this area. I would like to stay there someday.
② Mt. Fuji seen from the east
Next is Mt. Fuji seen from the east.
The peak looks flat, and it has a shape like an isosceles triangle with straight lines extending from it.
I like it because it gives a more "big" impression than the north.
The photo was taken from "Mt. Fuji Juku no Mori" in Gotemba. There are activities that can be enjoyed by children and adults alike, such as park golf and forest adventures.
③ Mt. Fuji seen from the west
The eroded valley called "Osawa Kuzure" has a distinctive shape. The hollowed-out shape is wild.
On the west side, you can see grasslands and open views, such as popular campsites "Fumotopara" and "Makai no Ranch".
The photo was taken from the "8th Line Entrance Bus Stop", which is also known as "the bus stop with the best view of Mt. Fuji in Japan".
④ Mt. Fuji seen from the south
Finally, here is Mt. Fuji seen from the south.
Many people have probably seen it from the Tokaido Shinkansen.
The distinctive feature is the small protruding mountain called "Hoeizan" on the right.
The photo was taken from the industrial area of Fuji City. Fuji City is famous for its factory night views, and there are even chartered trains that run on a special schedule with the lights turned off.
〇Other
The cover photo is of Mt. Fuji seen from "Ishiwariyama" near Lake Yamanaka, northeast of Mt. Fuji.
It took about an hour for an adult to reach the summit.
After climbing, we recommend going to a hot spring near Lake Yamanaka♪
Everyone, please go and find your favorite Mt. Fuji spot♪

"Kanemetei" is located near the roadside station in Shimoda, at the end of the Izu Peninsula🐟
They have a set menu that is only available in the morning, so some people come all the way to Shimoda just for breakfast🚙

It's recommended because you can eat fresh fish that can only be found in a fishing port!

A shopping resort with a variety of domestic and international brand stores🛒About 290 stores, including fashion, sports goods, and restaurants, are gathered on a vast site with a view of Mt.Fuji. On my first visit, I took a whole day to explore the area at my own pace 🚶 It's a fun and enjoyable space for ordinary people, with luxury brand items that you wouldn't normally buy being sold at affordable prices ✨ People who feel that one day isn't enough can stay at a nearby hotel 🏨 I went by car from Tokyo, but it seems easy to get to, so it might be a good idea to combine it with sightseeing in Hakone, Mt. Fuji, etc. 🗻 It's expected to be crowded on weekends, so I recommend arriving early.
Tsumagoi Resort @ Kakegawa, Shizuoka ⚽️
Tsumagoi Resort is a resort facility with a hotel pool and more!
I went there because I wanted to spend my time actively during my trip to Shizuoka 🚘
There is a large lawn, and you can rent equipment to play golf, soccer, badminton, table tennis, etc. 🏓
There is a circular bus that runs through the park, so even though it is a large site, I was able to get around comfortably 🚶♀️
It looks like it would be fun to visit during the autumn leaves season, so it's a place I'd like to visit again!
There is also a time when it is decorated with sparkling illuminations, so it is also recommended to visit on a date ✨

Tea sweets made by a tea shop
Speaking of tea, Shizuoka Prefecture. Among them, Kakegawa is famous for its deep-steamed tea.
And what do you want when drinking tea?
Yes, tea sweets, right? (laughs)
Tea shops in Shizuoka Prefecture are making a wide variety of sweets using their own products and opening cafes, making business efforts.
Mie Daiseicha in Kakegawa City makes tea sweets.
I visited at lunchtime, and they were very kind to me.
The shop, or rather the factory, is quite far up in the mountains in Kakegawa, so there are no customers, and since it's basically an online store, they seem to store their tea in the freezer, so I had to wait a little in the office until it was ready.
However, they gave me delicious tea and talked to me, so it wasn't a problem at all.
The dorayaki is made with a rare variety called "Kominami," so you can really taste the tea.
By the way, there are events held every now and then at the south exit of Kakegawa Station, and they often set up stalls at those events, so if you're lucky, you can buy tea at the station.
Also, the factory is on the way to "Awagatake," so it might be a good idea to stop by there.

Hamanako lake, a small and lovely peaceful town
I really love this city. Hamanako has a shrine on the mountain. You can walk up to the viewpoint of the city and the wide lake. Around the shrine, there are delicious restaurants and cute cafes. Nearby, there is a ropeway to go up to see the view and see a very cute music box museum. You can learn to make your own music box. If you have time, you can also take a boat to watch the sunset on the lake.
This place is famous for eel, but we found this sushi restaurant. It was very delicious.
