It's essential to wear water-resistant, non-slip shoes as your feet will be wet throughout the trek. We hired a local tour guide from Kampung Sungai Bako to embark on an exciting 6-kilometer journey.The trek took about 2 to 3 hours, depending on our pace. Along the way, our guide explained why the river appeared reddish—the Pelawan trees, with their red bark, occasionally shed into the river, coloring the water. Despite its muddy look, the water was surprisingly clean, and we rewarded ourselves with a refreshing dip in the waterfall's cascade. Our guide, a local Malay who spoke fluent Chinese and Hakka, made the journey even more engaging by sharing fascinating stories of the area's natural wonders. It was an adventure filled with nature, culture, and a peaceful retreat at the waterfall.

Ao Nang, Krabi📍 5 Nights in Krabi! Krabi was one of the places in Thailand that I was excited for, but it didn’t really meet our expectations. Similar to Koh Samui, Ao Nang felt totally full of tourists and completely dedicated to tourists. One of my biggest hates is when people try and beckon you into their restaurant or shop😂and you just could not walk anywhere without someone shouting ‘tuk tuk’ or ‘hungry?? Please have lunch at our restaurant?!?’ - totally not what I’m seeking when travelling. Nevertheless, we did some really good shopping in Ao Nang & a nice trip to Railay Beach. Khao Sok📍 2 nights in the most gorgeous place I’ve ever been. Khao Sok National Park consists of lush rainforests, deep caves, limestone cliffs and green lakes. We were lucky enough to stay on a floating bungalow, overlooking the breathtaking scenery. The company that we booked with, Smiley Tours, took us on safari expeditions & jungle and cave trekking experiences. The jungle & cave trekking was undoubtedly one of the scariest and most vulnerable experiences of my life! The walk through the jungle was insanely dangerous. We walked on crumbling footpaths and rickety bridges. The caves were loaded with creatures that looked like they weren’t meant to be seen by humans, as if they were made for the dark and never should be seen by light- huge spiders, frogs, snake-like fish, bats, crabs. We were constantly walking on wet, jagged rocks and placing our feet blindly within dark water. But, despite the imminent danger of the trek, it was an experience that I will forever remember fondly, as I have never been able to see nature so untouched and in it’s truest form. Bet you must have seen hundreds of posts of bamboo house or bamboo villa when you start researching about Bali, right? For me, it is as unique and stunning as it looks to stay in a bamboo house in Bali - probably one of the must-dos! Aura house is an insta-famous one so you may have already seen people staying there, let me share with you my experience over there today❤️ It is a 2 bedroom bamboo villa with 3 layers, the top being a kitchen and a common area to eat and chat. It is honestly an amazing architecture in the middle of the jungle. Down there is a small river so you can hear the sounds of the wild jungle during your stay. It is a surreal experience for city people like me. Speaking of the design, I think my favorite part may be the egg-shaped transparent flipping door. for casual hiker, gunung angsi trail much more moderate . the trail were maintained well.. not much obstacles. so it's a popular spot for hikers you can choose two starting point either from ulu bendul ( 5 hours ) or bukit putus ( 3 hours ) the difficulties 5/10 overall distance approximately 10 km once you reach the peak, u can see senawang view and gunung telapak on the way down... hikers usually will spent their time to rest and bathing at 1st or 2nd river. #hiking #jungle #outdoors

If you’re looking for a short holiday in Zhangjiajie then you wouldn’t want to miss a stay here! Definitely a MUST on the list. The hostess, whose name I’m embarrassed to say I didn’t even know, was more than accommodating and treated us like family. Her brother picked us up from the airport for free, they carried our bags up the stairs to our room, we were given free refreshments and watermelon upon arrival, we shared a beer with her at dinner and she arranged transport to take us to a few places the next day and also to take us to the train station when we left. - She went above and beyond and this made our stay so much easier and welcoming! The hotel’s road is under development so if you are staying here please pack rucksacks or backpackers gear and not a suitcase, as the staff insist on carrying your luggage for you and there are many steps to walk to to get to the hotel from the road. Saying this, the walk was pleasant and a good workout! Make sure you are physically able to walk a bit of a way. Just make sure you get back in plenty of time before the sun sets or it might be a scary walk in the dark with the things in the forest. Myself and my partner stayed for a few nights in one of the ‘rainbow bubble’ rooms in the forest. It was very spacious and had all you needed. They provide shampoo, conditioner, toothbrushes, towels e.t.c It was clean, however you have to bare in my mind that in the forest there will be bugs and insects that do make their way into your room and even the small amount that find your bed (only a squished mosquito or ant or two). When we came back to our room from our day trip into the park, we were surprised that our room had been cleaned and fresh towels and bedding was replaced, which was lovely! We had breakfast included in the price, which was a nice spread of rice, porridge and dishes often found on the dinner menu such as tomato and eggs. The hostess also offered to pack some fried rice to take with us in the park, which we enjoyed eating throughout the day. We enjoyed dinner here , the menu of which is provided. There was plenty of food to enjoy! The hostess spoke very good English and she helped us plan and arrange things to do and transport to make the most out of our stay. #createwithtrip - Love at a first sight 💕 For those of you who don’t know, I actually love elephants a lot and I have a grey colour sleeping dress w an elephant on it since 2015 that I still wear till date 😂 Being able to see these enormous gentle giants in real life felt super surreal esp when this trip was only decided last minute. The Elephant Jungle Sanctuary hiangmai is only reopened recently for 4-5 months after covid-19 happened so I’m thankful that I’m being able to visit them. I got to meet 5 elephants in total; Boon See (60 years old), Dokkam (35 years old), Donnueng (76 years old), baby elephant See Keaw (6 years old) and one more I cannot rmb the name but she’s 20 😆 The story behind their logo is that they started off with 2 big and 1 baby elephant in one location; but now they are taking care of 62 domestic elephants over 9 camps! 🤩 There’s so much interesting things that I learnt yesterday but I’ll share more once the pictures are out! These animals are absolutely incredible to see in the wild! My trip started before sunrise, the driver collected me from Medan city and drove to the jungle. The driver is well versed with google translate and is a very helpful, thoughtful and friendly person! Arriving at the meeting point, I waited 10minutes for other people to arrive and join the trek. We were given a lot of information about what to expect. My guides were Darabi and Haikal. These two gentlemen are funny, entertaining and very knowledgeable! They prepared lunch and we ate in the middle of the jungle, fried rice with egg and a lot of fruit. We saw about 7 orangutans and a few monkeys. Reasons to Recommend: It was a day to never forget. First they told us about the beautiful and joyful life the people and elephants life together. It’s really amazing to see how the locals interact with the elephants. We got to feed, wash and walk with the elephants. After we did a very nice bamboo rafting where a lot of people were splashing water on us and our guide told us afterwards that this is called “holy water”, since next month is new years in Thailand. If you are planning for a short trip during VangVieng then this is a kind of review you might need! In this review I will recommend you a place that you can finish your Vangvieng bucket list in one go, Zip-line, Cave explore, Viewpoint Climbing, Cave tubing and Kayak! The place is named “Angle Cave” 20 minutes motorbike ride from the city of Vangvieng up north, you can use google map for the directions, even though the way is a-bit tricky but surely the location were actually right! Once you arrive at the place you will see the blue suspension bridge across the Song River, First you will need to buy tickets of activities that you interested to play, there are no bundle tickets so you will need to buy each activity separately, the most expensive one will be the Zip-Line which will be between 15$-20$. The park do have restaurants and clean toilets for you to use, all activities are making me feel safe to enjoy (somehow), I visited VangVieng on the rainy day so the water might be a-bit of muddy yellow but well.. this is Laos right? #hotelreview Capella Ubud ❤️ The Capella Ubud hotel is amazing - each room has a theme and the items will be similar to what the theme is. The room that I went in particular, is the Lodge. Pricey, but it can accomodate 4 people (1 master and 1 twin). Plus, will have daily refreshments prepared for us. There's also a private jacuzzi! Taking a bath at the master room's golden bath tub is the instagram's favourite 🙈✨️ Oh and the pool, based on the staff, it is actually fresh holy water taken from the river below (?) I'm like woahh 👀 For the Auriga Spa, they only have 3 tents (2 double and 1 single) and I got one of the double tents. The spa is amazing, and in my opinion, more worth than Auriga Spa in Singapore. There's in built bathroom and the toilet is literally a throne sofa seat 🤣 I'm not kidding, you need to lift up the sofa seat to disclose the toilet and pull down the brush looking handle to flush. So far, this is one of the weirdest/interesting toilet I've seen. You can't go wrong with Capella's excellent service - the staffs are really polite, kind and treat you with respect. Although it was absolutely torrential rain, we had the BEST time with this tour group. It was 900,000 for my friend to tandem with the instructor and 700,000 for a single ride. The tour group picked us up from our hotel, provided us with boots for the trip, helmet and the bike (after a short introduction on how to use it). They did offer to take photos for an additional charge, but we didn’t want to. We started off by doing a short tour of some rice fields before heading to a more challenging terrain in the jungle, where it started raining very heavily. Despite this and the muddy conditions, myself and my friends had a once in a lifetime experience and the rain, thunder and lightening made it more enjoyable. We headed through a waterfall and caves, which was great fun! The guides made us feel safe at all times and explained things throughout. Saying this, I would not recommend for anyone who has a nervous tendency or just isn’t good at driving as this is a challenging course through narrow and dark places at times. We ended the trip with a free egg sandwich and shower (the ATV site provide free towels and shower rooms after your trip).
