My partner and I recently stayed at the Taal Vista Hotel in Tagaytay for a romantic staycation and birthday celebration and it was truly an unforgettable experience. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with warm hospitality and stunning views of the Taal Lake. Our room was beautifully decorated and offered a peaceful and romantic atmosphere. The hotel amenities were top-notch and provided the perfect backdrop for our celebration. We spent the day lounging by the Veranda, exploring the hotel amenities, and enjoying a delicious meal at the hotel's restaurant. The highlight of our stay was the breathtaking view of the Taal Volcano from our room and the hotel's observation deck. I chose Giligan's Restaurant and Bar for their low budget and quality food Filipino Restaurant. I ordered Grilled Pork Belly with cucumber garnish, Kare-kare soup that features a thick savory peanut sauce mixed with banana blossom, egg plant and string beans plus Bagoong alamang (fermented paste made from small shrimp). To make it more sumptuous just add 20php for unli-rice and 20php for iced tea. True enough, its affordable, enjoyable and yummy! With 5 mins drive from Winds Residences in Tagaytay, I reach RSM Lutong Bahay on the main road of Maharlika East. The restaurant is big to accomodate hundreds of people with Taal Volcano as the overlooking view. Though the food is a bit pricey but my filipino dish of Tapsilog and brewed coffee is within reasonable size-2 sunny side up eggs, strips of tapa enough for single serving, big size of fried rice, garnishes like cucumber and achara and big cup of coffee. Getting There - From Manila - Puzzle Mansion if you have a private car it will take atleast 2-3 hours travel time but if you will take public vehicle it will take 3-4 hours travel time. Attractions - Ofcourse, Puzzle mansion itself. They have a big frame when you take a lot at it it looks like painting but it is a puzzle. Not only that, they also have puzzle miniature of the other attracations like Eiffel Tower in Paris and Taj Mahal in India. For the pasalubong or remembrance they will sell keychain that has your picture in it. It is around Php 350 only each. You should visit this place. Kids and adults will definitely love this place. Hotels - The hotel that we book is Carmelence Lodge near at the Skyranch Tagaytay. From there you will take 1 ride only and it will take 15-20 mins ride. Food & Restaurants - I will definitely suggest the Leslies Restaurant located at the Magallanes st. The foods are awesome and delicious and the price is very affordable. From this restaurant you will actually see the Taal Volcano. While you are eating the delicious meal you also enjoying the perfect view of Taal. A must visit place. From the same owners of Antonio’s, Balay Dako serves traditional Filipino-Spanish dishes. The restaurant is pretty big and roomy and has a Filipino-Spanish ambiance to it. The dining rooms’ have huge windows offering a beautiful view of the Taal volcano and lake, adding to its appeal aside from the sumptuous dishes. They also have a pasalubong shop for those who want to take home some native delicacies. Since the restaurant does not accept reservations, we opted to go at around 2pm for a late lunch as its quite popular for visiting families and is normally full during usual dining hours. If you’re looking for an awesome experience in Tagaytay, you must try Balay Dalo. Their twist in sizzling Bulalo makes you want to order at least 2 cups of rice per person. When we went here, we ordered their sizzling bulalo, lomi, special friend chicken, and chopseuy. You would need to wait in line upon entry to the restaurant as they’re consistently fully booked on weekends. They do not allow reservations so it is on a first come first served basis. Before going home, you need to order their special buko pie on the specialties corner. We also tried their ripe mango shake, it’s freshly made.
