Lincoln Memorial 💕✨
The grandeur of the Lincoln statue and the historical significance of the location are impressive. It's a great spot for reflecting on American history and enjoying the view of the Reflecting Pool and the Washington Monument in the distance. 🥰
The peaceful reflection pool in front of it adds to the overall tranquility of the setting, making it a perfect place for contemplation and taking in the significance of Lincoln's legacy. However, the crowds can be overwhelming, and the interior space can feel a bit cramped during peak times. 👣
A visit to the Lincoln Memorial is an absolute must, it's a profound and memorable encounter with the nation's history and values. ❤️

Beautiful historic row of houses in the alley
Foggy Bottom is an area lying west of White house, with Potomac River at its border.
This area used to be affected by the influx of European immigrants. Thus, the need of housing/dwelling was the trigger for all the historic housing in the alleys around here.
A self-walk around the neighborhood will shed some light on its interesting history.
Start off with Foggy Bottom's Grandest House, you can continue the walk to Snow Court-which hosts one of the earliest developments in D.C., with its first houses built by 1858.

A masterpiece showcase in Washington DC! 🎨
Come with me and explore the the National Gallery of Art in Washington D.C.
Guess what? The admission is free!
Getting There :
Public transport - the most cost-friendly way to get there. You can use the Metrorail system (WMATA) and get off at the Archives-Navy Memorial-Penn Quarter station (Green/Yellow lines) or Judiciary Square station (Red line). Both stations are within walking distance of the museum.
Tips for Visiting:
1. Pick up a map upon arrival to plan your itinerary. Highlight the exhibits or areas you're most interested in to make the most of your time.
2. Allow ample time. With numerous galleries and an extensive art collection, plan to spend a few hours or even a full day exploring the museum to fully appreciate its offerings.
3. Consider a guided tour. The National Gallery of Art offers free docent-led tours that provide insightful commentary and context about the artwork. Take advantage of these guided tours to enhance your experience.
4. Check for special exhibitions. The museum often hosts temporary exhibitions, so be sure to check the website for any current or upcoming exhibits that may be of interest to you.
5. Using the coat check which is typically free of charge. There’s a coat check service where visitors can store their belongings while exploring the museum.
DO’S and DONT’S
- Do take your time. Take the opportunity to immerse yourself in the artwork and appreciate the details, brushstrokes, and artistic techniques.
-Do respect the artwork and museum guidelines. Observe any photography restrictions, refrain from touching the artwork, and follow any specific guidelines provided by the museum.
-Do engage with the exhibits. Read the descriptions, use audio guides if available, and feel free to ask museum staff questions (which I did 😉) to deepen your understanding of the artwork.
-Don't use flash photography!
-Don’t touch the artwork.
-Don't speak loudly or create excessive noise.
-Don’t eat or drink in the galleries where the artwork is displayed. There’s a cafe located on ground floor.

Doing D.C. My Way
Enjoyed a simple weekend in Washington, D.C. I came to specifically visit the National Museum of African American History and it did not disappoint. Coupled with the Amazing food and good vibes, D.C. was definitely a treat for me. I came on the Jet Coach Bus from NYC and the ride was quick and swift. I’d definitely do it again but just spend a longer time in the heart of the city!

historic Washington monument in nov22
classic infrastructure to have fun shots like touching the tip of the monument. if time and weather matches, you can even get an eclipse shot (in 3rd and 4th photos) with the sun shining behind and casting a shadow of the monument. simply beautiful and perfect. best to go during good weather - was perfect in nov2022 where skies were entirely blue and weather was windy, not too hot and not too cold.
Great place for children
An educational place for children, a nice bonus is free admission, a good cafeteria on the territory of the museum. #museum #washingtondc #childrenfun

Maketto-Former First Lady Michelle’s Taiwanese Cuisine Pocket List in Washington
After seeing the news broadcast, I discovered that there is a restaurant with authentic Taiwanese flavor in Washington, so I hurriedly made an appointment with my friends for the weekend.
Restaurants here in Washington generally recommend reservations, especially on small weekends when everyone will gather after work and run down or something, and the meal peak time will become very crowded.
Here is a direct scanning code to order food directly with mobile phone, but his service charge (Service charge) directly counts 20%... makes people feel very dumbfounded. Asked a native American, also said this is relatively rare, usually after the meal to give a receipt, decide how much to tip yourself (according to the quality of service obtained during the day of the meal to give), but this kind of before serving directly to you Paying a service charge is really rare.
We ordered the quail egg tofu, crystal shrimp dumplings, rice noodles, spicy beef basil rice, grilled fish, and dessert fried dough sticks, which overall ate about $20-25 per person.
The food is actually mixed with Cambodian spice styles, so it tastes appetizing and very delicious!
Overall, I felt very good. If there are foreigners who want to eat Taiwanese food in the future, I will probably still recommend this place!

The Colors of America
The United States has gone into many struggles before it became the multi cultured and diverse country that it is today. Though tolerance and acceptance more common these days, it is still worthy to know how the country struggled and triumphed and The National African American Museum will help us have a glimpse.
I have to admit, my visit to the museum was rather chilling. I felt very somber as I walk past and look into the vast collections and the exhibits.
Located along 14th Street and Constitution Avenue in the country's Capital, I highly recommend you make this visit a part of your DC trip.

us capitol
Definitely worth to visit the United States capitol. It’s beautiful and one of the political center of the most powerful country in the world. Easily spent several hours around the area to enjoy the architecture and the beautiful lawn. Worth to make an appointment to have a guided tour to inside the United States Capitol. Would be a great experience and definitely worth the time. Notice that guided tour inside the United States Capitol has been suspended since Covid. Hope it will resume soon and tourists can enjoy the tool again. Also, it is not a too bad walk from the states capitol to the Washington Monument and White House if you like walk. Beautiful and clean walk pass.
Tidal Basin Walk
A simple and enjoyable 1-3h walk that’s doable within the day ; get to see all sorts of historical icons and enjoy a cool breeze along the way!
You can choose to walk clockwise or the other way according to where you’re starting from. I started from the National Academy of Sciences where you can meet Einstein’s statue.
Walk through the War Veterans’ memorials, visit the Lincoln memorial with its reflecting pool, where you can catch a glimpse of Washington Monument. Go round to visit Martin Luther King Jr, the Roosevelts, George Mason and Jefferson’s dome and head right back inland to the museums if the day gets gloomy!
