No.10 of Best Things to Do in Metro Manila
Art Museums
中西南北东
As a national museum, of course, the most worthwhile museum to visit, and is free to visit. The entrance is the oil painting area on the first floor, and the Catholic influence is deeply embedded in the country. Basically there are paintings about Jesus, his birth, suffering, reincarnation, etc. Some exhibition halls are still a story line, and in order to appreciate is a classic work in the Bible. On the first floor, there are also some modern Filipino oil paintings. You can see the Philippine giants and the dresses of politicians, food, clothing, housing and transportation. The second floor is more modern art, except for oil paintings, mainly artworks, crafts, original weapons, etc. There are also pearl shell works, wood carvings and so on. The basement is a collection of mineral specimens. Of course, as our immediate neighbor, the Chinese elements in the museum are also indispensable.

Visited the National Museum of Natural History last month. The building is newly renovated. The museum displays specimens of animals, geology and plants collected and preserved from all over the Philippines. The highlight is the "Tree of Life", a huge building in the atrium that stretches from floor to ceiling. Admission is free and it is open from 10am to 5pm every Tuesday to Sunday.

Located in a historic place called City Central in central Manila, this museum focuses on Chinese cultural heritage in the Philippines. A large number of furnishings show the Chinese's beginnings in the Philippines, from former Spanish trading partners, traders and businessmen to post-World War II business tycoons. A Chinese can look back at how the community started and look elsewhere. It is a must-see attraction, how the Chinese have always helped build the country.

De La Salle University was founded in 1911 by Irish missionaries. In the early days, high school courses were offered. There is a statue of a caped archer on the campus, which is also the school logo. Currently, the school has a main teaching building donated by RCBC banker Yuchengco, an engineering teaching building donated by Cebu Air Group Chairman Gokongwei, and a library donated by SM Group Chairman Henry Sy. Since the school is a Catholic school, no-heeled slippers and shorts that are not over the knee are prohibited from entering the school. Friends who need to visit the school may wish to make an appointment through the school's official website. You can send an email to the International Center to make an appointment, and then print the appointment form yourself and give it to the security guard to enter the school for a visit.

This is a museum of the oldest, and still working, Catholic Church and convent. It gives a lot of history of the priests who came to the Philippines. Lots of art as well.
