|23.03km from city centerWe highly recommend this hotel for visitors to Jacksonville or the Mayo Clinic. The rooms are nicely decorated, the beds are comfortable, and the staff are friendly and helpful. Great location. Parking was no problem. There are lots of good restaurants and bars nearby. We will definitely stay here again on future trips to this area.

|15.76km from city centerFirst time to Jacksonville and also first time staying at a Hilton Tru brand, very nice time. The Tru itself is very easy to get to from JAX airport and pretty much right off I-295 (Exit 52). Places I visited were Downtown Jacksonville, I recommend the Riverwalk as well. Other places I've visited were the Jacksonville Zoo and Gardens, Jacksonville Beach and Jacksonville Arboretum, which has nice paths to explore (I recommend both the ”Jones Creek” and the ”Live Oak” trails). All were very easy to drive to from the hotel. Plenty of food options as well as shopping, located literally in the St John's Town Center. Finally the Front Desk staff were welcoming everyday during my stay when walking by. I most definitely recommend this Tru location in Jacksonville and will look forward to staying here again...!

|14.54km from city centerWhen booking the hotel I booked 2 rooms for a 1 night stay. During the online booking process I gave my credit card information because the booking that I did stated that payment was to be made in full for a 1 night stay at time of booking. Right away after booking I receive a confirmation stating what my total was, then stated ”less deposit amount”(amount that was to be charged, amount ”due at Check-In” $0.00. It also stated that ”The same credit/debit card that was used to pay for the room at time of booking must be present at check-in. Followed by ”Funds for at least the 1st night need to be collected at the time of booking”. So with all of that being stated on the confirmation from the hotel would you expect that your card would then be charged at time of booking for your stay?? YES! So we show up for check in only to be told that we have a balance. After traveling hours all day I am now tired and not ready to deal with this. The lady at the desk was kind but honestly seemed very unsure of exactly what she was doing. I proceed to explain to her that this was paid at time of booking. Was told that it was not. Showed my confirmation, and was still told it was not. I should have just went to another nearby hotel at that point. Had to take time to search my credit card history to find out that my card did not appear to be charged. Now is that portion my responsibility(yes it is). However. For them to send out poorly worded confirmations is not at all proper. I definitely feel mislead. Then my receipt from check in stated ”Deposit Transfer”? ”Charges” $0.00, and” Credits”(amount that I thought was paid at time of booking)? With a ”Balance” of negative the amount thought paid? So that alone would also appear as if I had paid the amount due at time of booking. After the lady at the front desk asked for assistance from another staff member with my check in(and I paid at check in) I was just ready to get my room for the night. The quality of the hotel has seemed to go down over the years we have been there. The rooms were okay minus the shower water not coming out well. In the morning we were just ready to leave and get back on the road. Proceeded to the front desk for check out. Of course I was thinking that all I needed to do was return my room key and be on my way....but that was not the case. A different lady at the front desk then told be that I HAD A BALANCE!! Are you kidding me? I just laughed at that point. I told her that their was no way I had a balance. I just went through the ringer at check in about the amount ”owed”, and was not going to be told again that I owed. The lady at the desk had to call for assistance with the matter. After that call I was told that I was good to go. I feel as if the front desk staff needs more or better training in regards to the processes that take place at the front desk. This stay was such a headache. I will be looking elsewhere when needing to stay in Jacksonville again.

|14.67km from city centerMy husband and I decided to take a couple of days to relax since he had just gotten out of the hospital so I booked us a room at this hotel. Bad idea! The room had mold all in it. It was on the ceiling and on the couch in the room. The shower walls and behind every table in the room as well. Which wasn't a welcoming sight since my husband was in the hospital with respiratory issues. That next morning when we went for breakfast the sausage was under cooked and cold as were the eggs. Then we were really disappointed to see waffle stuff but got told that there would be no waffles that day. Disappointed enough that we didn't even go to breakfast the next morning. Also the pool was closed. We were told that was because they had to get someone from the state to come inspect it. Needless to say the whole stay was very disappointing. I would not recommend anyone staying at this location until they get it cleaned up more

|21.43km from city centerOur stay was pretty great! The only negative was that the hot tub was out of service temporarily, but the pool made up for it. From the welcoming of the staff upon check in to check out, it was all up to par! I would highly recommend the hotel to anyone if they needed to stay close to the Mayo Clinic, etc.. it was Very convenient and reasonably priced.

|20.4km from city centerThere were tired things about the room…the bathroom mirror for instance obviously had a sticker that covered it to make it look like brushed nickel…mine was messed up so it just looked like a mess. There were no cups or an ice bucket in my room. The breakfast was very good, though, with a variety of foods, including oatmeal, which some hamptons don’t include, but that I love! Overall, though, this was a clean hotel in a good location, and I would stay here again.

|16.88km from city centerI saw the pictures, I thought they looked nice and luxurious. Soon I pulled up in the parking lot, first thing in my mind was ”uh-oh” and I walked up to the front desk, the staffs were nice until I walked in the room, it was smelly, nasty, floor (omg) there are flies everywhere in the bathroom, towel rack was broken but the maintenance came and fixed it with some glue. I wanted to check out but the room was already paid for with no refund. I decided to buy my own comforter, sheet, pillowcase, and towels just to keep me clean and safe. Make sure to wear sandals to prevent feeling dirty, oh yeah I bought some Lysol to get rid of smell and germ. The water won't drain down in the tub after taking shower. They need to burn down the whole property, seriously!

|13.43km from city centerThis is an accurate review of this property as of this date. This was a Candlewood Suites and now is a Sonesta Suites. The outside of the buildings has been redone including roof and is in very good shape. The grounds look very good and the staff is attentive. I checked them out. The room I had was remodeled and in fine shape. I assume all or almost all rooms have been redone for Sonesta. Hallways look good and the vibe was quiet and well managed. I hope its the same in 5 years. I stayed at the Candlewood here 10 times over 15 years and it varied from good to terrible. So its good to see it spruced up. I don't know why IHG sold the property but who cares. The local area is quiet and has extensive sidewalks that are very nice for walks long or short. This area is more of an upscale area for Jax.

|14.73km from city centerThe hotel had an outdoor pool that was enjoyable because never very busy. Our room was spacious and clean. After traveling all day, it was great to find a hotel that was super nice at such a good price! We've had bad experiences with crap hotels charging what we paid at this hotel. Its amazing for the value! We didn't feel the need to think twice after looking at the room prior to checking in! The receptionist was very friendly in all aspects. The morning breakfast was good hot breakfast whereas some hotels do not offer much for breakfast. We wanted a place that meant we could eat a good meal before getting on the road early the next day without having to do drive-thru or gas station food. This place I'd definitely recommend.

The hotel includes breakfast, breakfast is very rich, coffee drinks, fruit, bread and simple eggs, and cereal, although thick, but also porridge, for the go out, drinking porridge, really comfortable.
There is a place to rest outside the hotel, and the environment is very beautiful.

|14.55km from city centerMy wife, daughter, and I stayed here for one night in March 2024 prior to boarding our cruise from Jacksonville the next day. As I review the hotel, I would say that I have mixed feelings about our stay. There were some things that worked well and others that didn't. In terms of things that worked well, first, some of the staff members were very nice. Rochelle's name, in particular, comes to mind. The two gentlemen running the courtesy shuttle were also very polite and helpful. Second, what worked well for us was its location and proximity to the airport. The hotel is also conveniently located to I-95 so the next day when we were traveling to the Jacksonville cruise port terminal, it was an easy ride getting to I-95 without getting stuck in too much traffic. Third, the courtesy shuttle. We were able to get a ride from the airport to the hotel on Sunday evening when we landed without much delay and then again on Monday afternoon when we needed to get lunch at a nearby restaurant. What did not work as well: The biggest complaint that I would have had about the place was that it doesn't have a full-scale restaurant affiliated with it even though the online description seemed to suggest that there is one such. The ”restaurant”, if one can call it that, is a small bistro that is only open for a few limited hours in the day. It is not open for lunch and even when it is open for breakfast, it only has a handful of options to choose from. Furthermore, the overall arrangement at the bistro wasn't great. The gentleman who took my breakfast order was not to be seen for several minutes after I placed my order and so when I wanted to get a croissant for my daughter, I just picked one up with every intention of pointing that out to him later on when he emerged from inside. However, when he re-emerged, he pointed out to me that I should have paid for the croissant ahead of time, whereas I (obviously) meant to pay for it once he emerged. In any event, my interaction with the person staffing the bistro on Monday morning left a sour taste in my mouth. The second less-than-positive aspect about my stay was that not all of the receptionists were as welcoming as Rochelle had been the night before. One of them (Nicole?) did help us get a later check out at 2 p.m. (we had already pre-booked an option that let us check out at 1 p.m.) and so while that accommodation for a delayed check out was appreciated, she - and the other receptionist - who were there on Monday afternoon were not as friendly as I would have liked. Again, not a biggie, but it is the kind of thing which prevents me from giving the hotel a 5/5. All in all, would I stay here again if I needed to? Yes absolutely, especially if proximity to the airport was important but I would be particularly mindful of the fact that the hotel does not have an in-house restaurant.

|12.5km from city centerWe often stay at the Hampton Inn on our drive to and from Florida. We have stayed here at this very hotel and we are also Hilton honor members. As soon as we walked in the room we saw the cracked dirty looking bathroom. We paid $165 for a standard queen which we don’t mind for cleanliness and a good nights sleep. The windows were filthy, the bathroom fan was noisy and i couldn’t wait to check out. Is it my imagination that even the bedding has turned into cheap feeling sheets and blankets? Even the breakfast has gone downhill no bananas, coffee was finished at 9 am and The lady who should have been supervising was too busy chatting at the front desk to notice. I even mentioned to the front desk lady that I was disappointed that they only served light roast and it was obvious she couldn’t care less. She responded well that’s what they sent. Didn’t even bother to say she’d bring my comment to the manager. I used to love the dark roast coffee and cleanliness here. We will not return to this hotel. We are definitely considering another chain. Oh and they used yo give you upgrades from time to time for Hilton honor members but I haven’t seen that in a long time. Big disappointment. Hoping our next stop will be better.

|13.55km from city centerThe exterior was as pictured. BUT, what wasn't noted is the groups of people sitting around the entrance smoking. The small lobby area smelled of urine and a homeless guy standing around. This is what a roach motel is as there were three in the room. The broken elevator meant we had to walk up the stairs where the emergency exit was propped open by a suitcase. The walk to the room, 216, had a variety of smells, including someone cooking. I got the impression that people use it as a live-in efficiency. The bed looked like a murphy bed, and the dated dresser was broken. The shower dripped the whole time, and the ac unit added to the dripping. The room smelled of mold, and the dirty bed had hair and stains on the pillow. The thin walls meat you heard every conversation in the hallway. If it wasn't late and we weren't tired, we would have left. The loan bright spots were the proximity to food and the one guy cleaning the parking lot around 8:30 the next morning. He was happy to check us out since the front desk didn't open until 9 (according to him). Given the horrible experience, we were not waiting around for anything. Worst hotel experience EVER.

|8.52km from city centerIts a new building so everything is sparkling clean. Check in is quick and easy. They have problems with their system at first because it gave the receptionist a not made room. He gave us another room. Its spacious, new beddings, has a fridge, tv and a microwave. No hairdryer, but i dont mind it. I highly recommend this place. I love that the he printed a sketch to where your room is located and parking is just in front the room door. It's pretty secure, i dont see any ***** hanging outside the property. There's a lot of cctv on the premises, i saw it in front of reception and i think i saw a security guard (I'm not sure but that person looks like it, I maybe wrong because I didnt ask) No loud music that i heared. With the price, you cant beat the value. The only feedback i could give to management is to change the bed frames, its not solid. It moves and creates noise. No breakfast but has a coffee maker in the receiving area. You need to pay for Kcup vending machine.

|13.32km from city centerThis hotel was in a great location, especially if you didn't rent a car. There were so many places to walk to...restaurants, breweries, gas station, CVS, etc. And they were good restaurants! The place was clean and it has a beautiful pool in the back of the building. The gym was handy and they have complimentary breakfast with many items to choose from. Like any hotel it had a few kinks, but what made it great were the team members at the front desk, specifically Armenia and Andy. Both of them were so friendly, so helpful, so cheery and accommodating. I did not find out until after dealing with Andy that he is the manager. And Armenia couldn't say enough great things about him and his managing style. He treats them all as a team and even further...as a family! My company treats everyone the same way, so I admire this style. Cheers to you Andy! Marriott is lucky to have you.

|14.01km from city centerI stayed at the Aloft because it was the hotel option with EV chargers. My work gave us the option of Aloft or Marriott, and only Aloft mentioned EV chargers on their website. (I ended up not driving the EV, but it was nice to have the option.) Check in was easy, and my room was ready and clean. I don't love the Aloft brand as I don't think it caters to my demographic, but it was perfectly adequate for a midweek trip made without my kids. I had a standard two queen room. It had a single sink and a shower (no tub). The room had a view of their conference room/ballroom building. The doors do not do much to keep the sound of the hallway out, and throughout the night, I could hear people talking and doors slamming. Not great. The beds were just a little too firm, but I thought the pillows were fine. The shower water pressure was not great, even when adjusted to be high velocity. I did not try out the pool, but it looked nice. The room was fine, although I don't necessarily agree with some of the design, which seemed less practical. I did like that parking was free and that there were several restaurants within walking distance. I think next time I'll try out the nearby Marriott.

|12.75km from city centerMy wife and I celebrated our 40th anniversary in April. We wanted to be located near good food, shopping and highway access. We were pleased with the cleanliness and room accomodations. What pleased me and my wife was the 5 Star service we received from the Homewood Suites Hotel staff. We were greeted with a friendly smile. We are Hilton Honors guest and travel through out the United States, staying at various Hilton properties. This was our most pleasant stay. The team of Cheryl Horne,Ussette,Amy,Ms Kim and Murak made us feel at home. It is so hard to experience good customer service but this was 5 star service. I believe that this team should receive some type of positive recognition. GREAT JOB! You made our 40th anniversary so nice. Thank you, Don Samuels

|23.65km from city centerI'm a Gold level Marriott member so I write this with genuine disappointment, especially as outside of this event this was mr new 'go-to' hotel when I needed to come to Jacksonville for medical at Mayo. I'm in my 2nd of a 2 night stay. I had a had a medical procedure this morning which required putting me under. I returned to my room and rested for a few hours and then found the bathroom heavily flooded. I went to the front desk to ask for help and no one was there. I waited and some guy told me to hold on, he'd go find someone. Eventually, a front desk guy named Melvin came out who was unproductive and oddly discourteous in a way that was unearned and about him. I told the problem and after some confusion he was able to contact engineering to come meet us at the front desk. While waiting, I asked him if he could see if there was availability for another room. He said ”No, I can't move you until engineering says the problem can't be fixed. Plus, we're pretty full.”I said ”yes but if you could just check if availability exists as I've just had a medical procedure and am exhausted,” a d held up my bandaged srm from where the IV just was hours ago. He then said no, rolled his eyes, and argued with me which was weird because I wasn't arguing with him. The Palmene the engineer arrived and asked my room number, 723, and he immediately told Melvin and me no one is supposed to be in that room as there is a roof leak which isn't his fault because the roof guys hadn't fixed it yet. I asked Mel in if he could now check if other rooms were available? He said no, ot until the engineer goes with me to the room. I asked ”why nit just give me a key now to a new room so I could directly pack, switch rooms and then return the key to the flooded room? Palmene the Engineer agreed and started explaining and literally mid-sentence Melvin started helping someone else who randomly walked up to ask a question about parking. I asked Melvin to please resolve one problem at a time and he refused. It was really sincerely weird; rude in such a misplaced way that it was farcical. So Palmene and I went to the room, he immediately knew where the roof leak in the bathroom was, repeated that the room should never have been occupied nor I put in it. He kindly ran to get me new room keys and a luggage dolly so I could pack to move. He returned with them and helped solve the problem and apologized for Melvin acting rudely and unconstructively. After packing and switching rooms I took the dolly down to the lobby and Melvin came up to tell me i could have just it in the hallway instead of nust saying thanks for returning it. This is a flooded room on a medical procedure day exasperated a really incompetent front desk guy with a poor attitude.

|14.94km from city centerTo start off this review I will say that the front desk associate was nice and polite. When we arrived to the room after checking in I noticed that the toilet was not clean and there was no towels in the room. I called the front desk to ask about not having towels and the young lady at the front desk said to come there and she can provide me with extra towels. When I got to the front desk, the girl said there was no more towels. I was confused, because she had just told me that she can give me towels. So her statement about not having anymore weirded me out. The front desk girl as apologetic, but still no towels. I went back to the room, and the girl eventually came to our room providing us with towels. I had her come in and she couldn't believe how dirty the bathroom was. I didn't want to move rooms, because I just wanted to relax.

|15.78km from city centerI had a very short stay at this Residence Inn. The location was convenient to UNF and the Town Center where I had meetings. I arrived at the property very late and received a great welcome from Brian at the front desk. The room was large and clean and well laid out and appointed. I had to leave very early the next day, so I pretty much just set the alarm and went to bed. Unfortunately that is when the drill team started practicing upstairs. I’m sure the people did not mean to stomp around, but the sound carried clearly. I highly recommend getting an upstairs room to avoid being the stompee vs. the stomper. I eventually got to sleep but drill team practice resumed around 4 a.m., 30 minutes before my alarm time. I just got up and started getting ready early. So, the location was great, the front desk was great, and the room was great. The soundproofing is just not good. Again, get a second floor room, and you should be fine.
