|4.87km from city centerWe were traveling to visit our daughters family and made a quick overnight stop here, The rate was great and like to stay at Marriott (my sister work for corporate for a long time). The hotel was clean and the staff was great! But my one complaint and the reason for the 3 star was the bed was awful. I have never been in a Marriot hotel where the bed was so uncomfortable I actually went to the sofa for a while in the middle of the night. i used to love a Marriot bed but now I am not sure where I stand. We left too early for breakfast but the coffee was great!

|4.96km from city centerAll seemed fine until night time. My daughter opened up the pull out sofa and the mattress was saturated with blood stains. Not just a drop or two - one-third of the mattress was covered. ( I have photos). I immediately went down to the front desk to request a replacement and I showed the photos. The gentleman was very nonchalant and seemed disinterested in helping me. He said that we could remove the mattress but that there were no other ones available. I said YES, I definitely want it removed. Just the thought that it's in there is grossing us all out.. But I told him that I NEEDED another (clean!) mattress because we needed the sleeping space. Well, he eventually admitted that there was another room, just like the one I had, so I asked him to please have the mattresses switched. Instead, he attempted to have me switch rooms. I declined that option because my (1) teen daughters were already in pajamas, and (2) we had arrived at the hotel earlier that day and had taken the time to unload ALL of our belongings (took forever) into the room, plus (3) I had already gone through the trouble of sanitizing the current room. (4) Lastly, when we had first arrived to check in and requested to check in early, the attendant was kind enough to tell me that she could get us into a room right away but to be warned that the room was on the ”highway side” of the hotel and that some people complain about the noise. So i told her I'd just wait until the regular checkin time and get a quieter room. This is my 4th reason for declining the room change, because I didn't want a noisier room. In any case, I asked him if he could simply have someone change out the mattresses for us. He said no because he was the only one there and that he'd have the ”shut down the hotel” in order for him to do it himself. So I said ”well can I do it? Because it's highly unfeasible for us to load up and switch rooms at this hour.” So, yes, I had to move the disgusting mattress out of my room myself, and there were no gloves for me to use. I then had to go to a room on a different floor to grab the clean mattress off that sofa bed, load it onto the elevator, and drag it back to my room. After all was done - i had to return the room key for the new room to the attendant, he tells me that ”someone in housekeeping actually DID come in for the evening shift.” And he finally changed his tune and was nice and apologized, but I was NOT happy having to handle a mattress with what looked like someone elses body fluids. Also, the shower was lined in what looked like mildewy dust - so it was not probably cleaned at all. The trash can liners were not properly installed. Crumbs were on the floor. This was a convenient location, but I would not stay here again. It looks nice at first glance, but if you want REAL clean and not the kind of ”clean” your kids will do to their rooms, I advise against staying here. Oh lastly - when the sofa bed is opened (on the King studio room with pull-out sofa),

|0.43km from city centerMy wife and I stayed here for the first time last week. We live an hour away and came to celebrate my birthday. The hotel is built next to the Black Warrior River in the newly renovated River Park area which is a short walk to many bars and restaurants. There is also ample parking. The property itself is modern and very clean.. The Front Desk staff were very friendly and helpful. Our room was 523, just a few doors from the Rooftop Bar. Our room was immaculate, very comfortable, and offered a nice view of the river. We visited the Rooftop Bar participated in a Rose’ wine tasting with a portion of the proceeds going to the local food bank. There we tasted some really good wines and had the pleasure of meeting the Hotel General Manager, Cassie, and the Assistant General Manager, Daniellie, who went out of there way to ensure we had a fantastic stay. Later that evening, we sat on the outside deck and enjoyed the nighttime view of the city. We will definitely return, making this hotel a regular for weekend getaways. Thanks again to Cassie, Daniellie, and the entire Hotel Indigo staff for a fantastic stay!

|4.68km from city centerFirst of all when I went in to check in, the girl at the front desk was very nice, but it has been years since I have actually had to fill out a hand written form to register for a room that I had a reservation for and also am a IHG member and my reservation had all that information on it when I made the reservation. Kind of seemed like it was not up to date with its system. I normally only have to show my ID. Anyway got thru that and our room was not finished being cleaned, so we had to wait a little while. Normally this would not be an issue, but my 86 year old Mother was with me and she was not feeling well. Again the girl at the front desk was very helpful in getting the room completed as quickly as possible. We had no problem with the room whatsoever! It was a great room. I believe they had just completed some renovation. The problem We did have was about an hour after we had been there someone was trying to get in the door. I thought maybe someone just had the wrong room. Before I could get to the door it opened and a female and male hotel staff member were at the door. They both looked alarmed, as I was. The female staff member said they thought no one was in the room and checking to make sure it was clean. They apologized and shut the door. About an hour later the same thing happened except it was two male hotel staff members. One was carrying a small laptop and the other had a piece of paper he was holding and said he was showing the room was vacant. I assured him the room was not vacant! He said have a nice stay and shut the door. This totally should have never happened the first time, but certainly not two times within a couple of hours. Again I am not sure if their system is outdated, not working, or what exactly the problem was, but that was totally unacceptable! I saw them doing that to other rooms as I was going in and out of my room, so I am sure we were not the only ones they busted in on. I hope it was not some of those young volleyball girls there for the tournament. It probably would’ve terrified them. Again, whatever the problem, it was unacceptable for that to have happened once much less twice. Other than that the hotel was fine.

|5.11km from city centerFirst, the two workers in the office that I dealt with were extremely nice. Also, the A/C worked good as well as the TV. That's all of the good. First, I hate being charged $165 because it's gameday where they usually charge about $60. I hate that all the hotels in town do this. I can't believe it's legal. Now, soooo much nastiness. Soon as we walked into the room a roach ran out from under the bed to under the dresser. I moved the dresser and killed it. Then within a few minutes another roach ran out from under the chair. I proceeded to kill it too. At this point, along with all else we could see, we wanted our money back. Since it was game-day in T-town every hotel is booked and we live 5 hours away. So we chose to endure. After I showered and began drying off with a towel that smelled as if it was washed and used once or twice I noticed a light scratching against my body. I looked and the dang towel had a sticker on it that was a recently used VISITORS PASS FROM THE LOCAL HOSPITAL DATED JUST 2 DAYS BEFORE!. The floor was nasty. The chair was stained and nasty. It's a ”Non-Smoking” room but you definitely get choked by the stench of old smoke and nicotine renaissance that lingers in the paint, sheetrock and everything else. Every piece of plastic in the room was heavily stained from the years of cigarette smoke. I know this cause I grew up with everyone in my family smoking except me. So they've changed none of this. Looks terrible. The sink knob was broken. The bath tub was a very old whirlpool tub that no longer worked, not that we wanted to use it. The tub and shower inset looked like years ago it was painted with home latex paint and it was now pealing. The shower curtain was stained yellow and had mold and mildew stains all over it. The shower curtain rod was barely hanging on. I could go on and on. I was raised very poor by a disabled single mother, living in the project. I've slept in homeless shelters, lived on the street, slept where I could. Thankfully many years later I have been able to end up successful in life. But saying that, this hotel is nearly as bad as anything I've lived or stayed in and I paid a lot of money to stay here.

|0.24km from city centerThis hotel is very new and high quality. It is very walkable to the stadium and campus. It has a nice rooftop bar and restaurant. It is also a block away from a great selection of restaurants in downtown. The gym equipment is all brand new and the fitness center gets a bunch of natural light, which is great while working out. The whole hotel was very clean and all of the staff were extremely friendly.

|4.91km from city centerThis Hilton Garden and its employee team are super! We stayed U of Alabama homecoming long weekend. Hotel was nicely decorated for Halloween, plus U of Alabama and Arkansas for the game. They hosted a wonderful tailgate party with very nice food, fancy service, free flowing drinks, really a nice gift to guests Friday night before the game. The hotel is extra nice including patio seating area for Non-smokers, unusual and very pleasant. Lots of parking, convenient location. Highly recommend this hotel and kudos to all the staff during a very busy weekend!

|5.6km from city centerRoom was clean and hotel was quiet, but 2 major issues. 1. We arrived a little early. I asked about early check in and was told $20 per hour. I can understand this if housekeepers are still working or if guests were checking in or out, but there were 2 cars in parking lot - one of which was front desk person. We just went shopping for that one hour rather than pay this. 2. Though I requested a non-smoking room, was charged $50 to ensure I didn’t smoke in the room. I asked if guests in smoking rooms had to pay a deposit - blank look. Was told I would get deposit refunded in 5 days after checkout, but had to call 3 times. This gouging for every extra dollar is ridiculous and I will not stay at this chain again.

|5.08km from city centerI stayed here a year ago and had a good experience. It is conveniently located for the event I was attending. The desk clerk, who was the same one from last year, upgraded me to a suite. I will be staying here in future if making a trip solo before my wife and I finally move back to Tuscaloosa within a year.

|5.73km from city centerClean enough and fairly quiet under the week. However, unfriendly staff, not the least bit welcoming. Breakfast was limited and the coffee was coming out in the form of water....,took out the charge for the room and a security deposit was taken out for 100 additional dollars and it took four days to get back. They made you feel like some kind of criminal when checking in. Warning after warning.... no welcoming feeling.

|4.84km from city centerI will start by saying that the staff was great and the hotel was basically clean. The overall issue is maintenance. A little paint, calk and TLC would go a long way here. I would start with fixing the signs light bulbs. The room smelled musty and the AC struggled. The curtain was torn and the TV was dated. The furniture was worn and threadbare. The bed was comfortable and clean. The breakfast bar was done in the cheap. No oatmeal on sad looking meat, 2 pieces of toast in the basket and the waffle mix/syrup were empty.
