Little bit dated. Booked through Qantas Hotels and somehow was upgraded. ( No requested room available? do not know.) Water shower deluge head is great. Plenty of towels washers etc. The body wash and shampoo bottles are squeeze to actuate, sounds simple doesn't it? Mattress very comfy. Pillow a little firm for me but I did have the choice of 5! You get a kettle and that's it. Fridge opens one way, cupboard door opens opposite way. Not user friendly. Mis mash of cups. No knife or fork. Had to book for a couple of nights the next week but was an extra 50 an night. Thought that was a bit unnecessary for a returning client booking the same room. We had two windy nights and the sliding door widows rattling was enough to keep you awake. Need to be wedged. Location to town. Excellent, walking distance.

Fabulous room. Large and comfortable with a massive bathroom. Plenty of room to have your toiletries out. Very comfortable bed and pillows. We had a corner room and would request this again on our next stay. Breakfast included in our stay was one the best buffet breakfast we have had. Staff friendly and efficient. No on-site parking but valet parking available. Excellent stay.

A very trendy hotel. They offered to upgrade me to a larger room and provide valet parking. Although there was nothing to park in, the overall experience was very nice. However, the glass door was polished too brightly and I bumped into it.

The front desk was very welcoming and the location was good. It was very close to the city center and it was only 5-6 minutes. I also sent a discount coupon for lunch, and the room was not as small as I expected.

Hobart City Apartments is located right in the downtown shopping district of the city. You don't stay there for the view, but you are in the thick of things and still only a 12 minute walk to the harbor for endless choices of restaurants, bars, cafes, etc. With notice and availability, they offer underground parking for $20.00 a night. Otherwise, there is night street parking and a couple of lots close by. Though this review focusses specifically on the 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom penthouse apartment where we spent 6 nights, 3 of us first spent 1 night in two large single rooms, while awaiting availability of the Penthouse apartment. Each large room included a king bed, with end tables and lamps, a wall mounted TV, and a seating area, plus a good sized bathroom with large walk in shower. These 1 bedroom units include a small kitchen with a mini fridge, and stove top, microwave and dishwasher. Suffice to say that both the single units and the Penthouse we stayed in, are beautifully and relatively recently decorated, and very comfortable. The Penthouse apartments are large and feel quite new, like the single units. Similarly they are well appointed, and nicely decorated, with lots of light. The upstairs consists of one bedroom, with a king bed, end tables, table lamps and a wall mounted TV, plus an ensuite bathroom. The bedroom space is tight which of course, can't be helped, and so there's minimal drawer storage though enough if you plan it out well. There's a wide, deep ledge in front of the window, so one of us used that to lay out clothes, and toiletries, while the other used the shelves in the closet and though we needed more hangers, there was enough hanging space for 2 of us. The suites are relatively new so having what felt like new bathrooms was a bonus. The upstairs bathroom has no counter space but under counter storage, a large shower and it's well designed. There is no door at the top of the stairs into that bedroom/bathroom, so if privacy is an issue, be prepared. The main floor houses a small kitchen, with a microwave, full fridge and stove, flat cooktop, plus dishwasher and just enough plates, cups, glasses and utensils to get by. Don't plan on cooking a big meal though. It's best for breakfast, and serving up take-away. The adjacent living space had a large, 'pleather' (ie: looks like but isn't leather) couch and matching chair and the flat screen TV is mounted on the wall beneath a media unit, and across from the couch so it's a pleasant place to sit. Behind the occasional chair, is a small dining table, seating 6, then a sliding door, and screen out to a large but unfurnished patio. It would be nice to offer up 4 outdoor chairs and a couple of small side tables to enjoy a cocktail. The 2nd bedroom on the main floor, is larger than the upstairs, and houses a Queen size bed, end tables, with lights, and a closet. There is no TV in that room; something else they should add. The 2nd, large bathroom is across f

Clean and warm, with a historical and emotional hotel, the layout is very warm, the crafts are either left by the boss's parents or the boss's own collection, some of them are especially oriental, the boss John is very good, the kitchen downstairs eats casually There are a variety of locally produced honey jams. If you like Western breakfast, you will be more enjoyable. The location is very good and all can be reached on foot. Parking is also very convenient, the backyard will do.

Kevin is the best host EVER. So helpful and cooks a good breakfast just how you like it, with good coffee. When we arrived late he give us instructions to enter the property, my first impression wasn’t that great to be honest , with over grown bushes and dated hallways but on entering our room was big and spacious and clean. Had 3 great nights sleep bed is so comfortable and dreamy pillows. Bathroom a little dated but spacious and clean. Also a kitchen and dining area you can use which is great. Only a short walk into town so great location. Overall great stay for the price.

Tasmania's natural, culinary and creative treasures are within easy reach at the award-winning Hobart CBD hotel, The Tasman. Anchored to the waterfront precinct and in the embrace of kunanyi/Mount Wellington, Australia's first Luxury Collection hotel sits comfortably between Hobart's CBD, picturesque Derwent harbour, MONA Ferry terminal and the iconic Salamanca Place and Battery Point neighbourhoods. In a showcase of understated elegance by design, The Tasman is an architectural symphony; an overture of 1840s Georgian heritage, building to 1940s Art Deco and a 2020s modern extension finale. Original sandstone contrasts spectacularly with a glass-encased prism of modern architecture.

HHONGYANThe hotel is a little road from the city center. The nearest supermarket is 8 minutes drive. The hotel is very beautiful, but the air conditioning is old-fashioned. No one appears in the whole process. The folder that sees your name is very happy. The place where breakfast is used is self-service. Each table has the name of the room, and the name of the room is named after the owner of the previous hotel.
HHuiting LimStayed here for 2 nights. The bunk house is conveniently located at battery point and a walking distance from Salamanca place. Although the bathroom are shared, there are quite a few bathroom available to use.

Excellent
GGuest UserMy two week stay at the Argyle Motor Lodge confirmed for me that this establishment is, in my opinion, the best value accomodation in Hobart. The lodge is conveniently located for access to downtown Hobart, the northern suburbs and the major highways. There is a thriving cafe and restaurant culture in Newtown and North Hobart that is very convenient to the lodge. The front of house staff and housekeeping were accomodating and helpful. In reception, Yvette was on point in assisting with bookings, facilities and local knowledge. A first class representative. Selena and her housekeeping team were courteous and efficient in maintaining my suite. Of particular note and not always the case in suites with kitchen facilities, used cutlery is replaced with clean, paper packaged utensils. I highly recommend the Argyle for short or longer term stays.
UunnunnThe hotel is a bit far from the city center. If there is a car, it is more convenient, but it is necessary to spit it out. July is their winter. The living room has an air conditioner but the heating is not very good. The dining room is miserable, there is no air conditioning, and the coat is in a hurry. After dinner, I went to the bedroom, but the three bedrooms had only one radiator, but the room was not too warm. The other two rooms had a radiator and one had no radiator. After many negotiations, the blanket was finally warmed. Waiting for the electrical appliances, I originally wanted to check out, but I saw that they were very good. I thought about the trouble of changing rooms. (To check out, you must say before 8:00, otherwise you will be able to enroll the next day.) I had a good night's sleep, I didn't expect to continually trip, power off, and half of the hot water was washed in the bath. I hurriedly wiped it with cold water. This is only 5 degrees in winter. I asked them to repair it many times, the electrician could do nothing, the wires were old, the walls of the house were thin, and the warmth was poor. At 11 o'clock in the evening, in order to guarantee the next few days, I decided to re-book the room and check out the next morning. Foreigners resolutely disagreed with the refund of the same room, even if they were not able to agree on their facilities, of course, the final result of Ctrip's mediation was satisfactory, so the partners of this hotel should consider it, they have no bedroom. Air-conditioned, no air conditioning in the summer, I think it is uncomfortable, but the scenery outside the house is good.

Very Good
I was very happy with my stay here. Check-in was a little confusing as one checks-in at the old hotel, not where the accommodation is located, so there is a bit of a walk to find where to check-in. Room was huge and the shower was very spacious. The only complaint I will make as it looked like my room (13) may not have been vacuumed (corn chip under the bed and hair, which was not mine, on the floor near the bathroom.) I didn't see a hairdryer, but had brought my own anyway. I got the last car park and am not sure if the parking spots outside the rooms are designated car parking for the hotel guests, or if anyone is able to use them (there are a few other shops close by.)
GGuest UserThe hotel room is very large, the design must be beautiful, and the breakfast is also very delicious. It's a typical American breakfast. It's very good to have a menu to order according to your taste. The house has a sofa. It's very considerate to have a waiter come to the room to open the sofa and put it on. Beautiful surroundings of the hotel
GGuest UserWe booked two nights in April. We could smell the room before the door was fully open! Body smells, dirty smells, old stained carpet smells! The furniture was ancient, worn and not clean looking. The bed cover had holes and looked like a dog blanket. It felt like a marshmallow and I didnt dare look at the mattress to check if it was clean. The carpet was badly stained all over and the bathroom needed renovating 20 years ago. We felt awkward but couldnt stay there so chatted pleasantly with reception who admitted the room did small and they had another rom with a new carpet and new mattress. The new room did not smell as bad but the carpet was stained worse than the first. The bathroom was ancient and melamine pealing and missing in parts. We simple couldnt bring ourselves to stay there and asked for a refund [eve if just for one night]. We did not get a refund and the owner stobbornly kept referring us to Booking.com for our problem. They emailed her that night and she never replied to them. Reading reviews later I saw that at some time the place was used as a *******, maybe that explains the copious stains. We ended up paying 2 nights accomodation and booked elsewhere. I telephones the owner and asked why she didnt reply to booking.com so we could get a refund, suddenly her english wasnt as good as it was when we met!! She didnt offer anything. I suggested she use our money to buy a new bedspread! My only regret was that I was so shocked by the state of the room I forgot to take pictures to share with you.

AAnonymous UserI stayed at this youth hostel in Hobart for four days to give you some reference.
1. The landlord will thoughtfully send check-in information to your email before check-in. It is very convenient to check in unattended, which is very suitable for i people. Moreover, the landlord here is Chinese and there is no language barrier.
2. This youth hostel has only 2 washing machines and 2 dryers with 41 beds. During my stay, there was only 1 washing machine (one of the washing machines was broken and the washing machine usage time was limited). Although it is not completely impossible to wash clothes, But I need to find every opportunity to do laundry. We all live in a youth hostel, so I can overcome this difficulty, and then! I found that the dryer won't dry my clothes! Because I couldn't wash my clothes, I washed them in the bathroom one day and put them in the dryer. They didn't dry for two hours. Once I put the clothes in the washing machine for washing. Time was tight. It took 30 minutes to dry two clothes, but one was not dry. Reminder: Try to bring as many sets as possible to change. If the clothes are not dry enough and will stay longer, you can hang them by the bed and dry them overnight. Also, the laundry detergent of the youth hostel is on a grid-like shelf after entering the lobby. Don’t be like me and only found the laundry detergent on the last day after staying for four days! 😭
3. The hygiene condition of the youth hostel is much better than that of many youth hostels. In particular, the bedding and towels are very clean and the sleeping environment is very comfortable. Everyone will try their best to maintain a quiet sleeping environment. The hygiene level of toilets and shower rooms is tolerable. The hall was also very clean and bright, and I personally saw that every public water cup was wiped.
4. The staff at the youth hostel were very slow in replenishing shampoo, shower gel, and hand sanitizer. I think girls use these a lot, so they should at least check whether they are sufficient every day. But the staff may only visit once every two or three days. There are two girls' bathrooms. Except for the shower gel and shampoo on the first day, there is no shampoo in the first cubicle on the second day, and there is no shower gel in the second cubicle on the third day. On the fourth day, I studied Be smart, check if both sides are there before taking a shower, and then! The first stall had nothing and the second stall had no shower gel. Moreover, the hand sanitizer in the girls' restroom has been out since the third day, and it was not replenished on the fourth day. 😓
5. In terms of safety, it is still okay. At least if you put the bag in the aisle, no one will take it at will, and the food in the refrigerator will not be taken away at will. At least my Cheerilee was safe there for three days. but! I don’t understand why there are boys in the hotel I booked in the girls’ area for two nights! Although most of them are girls, why are there one or two boys? I think this is an oversight by the hotel, but the boys didn't cause much trouble to my sleep, so I didn't complain. I hope this aspect needs to be improved. p.s. I heard other residents, girls and boys, reminding me that this is a girls’ area, but the boy didn’t know what he said and couldn’t hear clearly, so he checked in!
6. This hotel does not have a late check-out service, but Ctrip marked that you can have a late check-out at 2 o'clock in the local area and an early check-in of 4 hours (I don't know if the early check-in service exists), so I used some points to redeem the service. Later, It was time to clean at 10 o'clock in the morning. I went out to play for a while and wanted to come back and take a nap before leaving. I asked the hotel cleaning staff and they said that there was no such service and the room had been cleaned at 10 o'clock. I reported this problem to Ctrip, and Ctrip quickly handled it for me and ended the problem by compensating me part of the amount. But if you haven't gone to the airport yet, you can store your luggage in the hotel. From my current point of view, it's very safe.
7. The lobby of the youth hostel has normal sockets in Australia, and the sleeping area only has USB plugs, so you can bring a USB plug for convenient charging, which is quite fast. Also remember to bring a mouthwash cup, toothbrush, toothpaste, and slippers.
Have a nice trip everyone.

张张问号The front desk is welcoming and the hotel has no elevator! You need to lift your luggage up and down yourself! There is no place for luggage in the room. The bed was comfortable, and the oil stain on the cover was poor. The bath water is very good, that is, the place is a bit small, and people who need a small shower. The bathroom is quite large, and the non-stop work beside the bed is a bit annoying! The water next door feels flowing from this room, and the whole four or five kinds of noise are annoying. The room facilities are a bit dated, after all, the price is there. Personal feeling is just suitable for sleeping at night!

GGuest UserI stayed at a Imperial backpackers two years ago and was very keen to persuade my four friends to stay with me this time. Frustratingly, a bunch of little irritating things add up to a negative review, when actually Imperial backpackers should be a great place to stay. The kitchen is great, with lots of equipment and fridges and space for your food. The hot water in the bathrooms takes a while but it’s really hot when it does come through. Beds are comfy and the room had an efficient heater. And there’s a guy called John who is so helpful – he was a guest last time. I was there, but now he works for the organisation. All in all, it should be a five star place. However, in the past couple of years, I don’t think they’ve done much maintenance In our room, the locker doors were either locked shut or couldn’t be shut (and there was no place to put the padlock that the website suggested we bring!). Our flyscreens were also badly torn, while in our friends’ room across the hall, there were gaps at bottom and top of the windows, which let in both freezing blasts of winter air, and the hideous smell of cigarette smoke from directly beneath the windows. Stuffing several towels in the gap eventually did the trick, but it shouldn’t be necessary. And there’s a bunch of inaccurate/ misleading/ dangerous signage. Firstly, there are 2 huge fire doors as you climb the stairs from the night entrance. They both have large signs saying they must be kept shut at all times (they are, after all, fire doors). But they are both left open all the time, and I was told have been for a while. On the main entrance door, opposite reception, the biggest sign says office house are 9-5.30pm (same as last time) but right below it is another sign saying office hours are 9.30-230pm This shorter opening time impacted our stay in several ways,l. With that office only open from 930 to 230pm, eerything else is “ after hours”. So, if you want to use the laundry - you pay a deposit and a per hour fee - you have to do so between 930 and 2:30 pm. If you want to leave your bags during the day, after checking out at 10 am, you can only do so till 2:30 pm. (Last time we left our bags until 5pm , when we got the Skybus to the airport(. We phoned the Imperial number, at 3pm on day 2 , to ask for a second key to our room, and we’re told that there would be an “after hours fee” of $20, even though it was still 3 pm. None of this happened on our first visit, and the website doesn’t mention that all the services mentioned are only available 5 hours/ day. So, like I said, I should be giving a great rating, but I’d go for 2 1/2 stars.

Salamanca Pl
YYuppiJeSalamanca Market is a fantastic place to visit for a glance of the Hobart’s living with their local produces, daily food. A bonus of fine dining and souvenirs to take home.
MONA
Ppxy0705The Museum of Ancient and Modern Art in Hobart is a comprehensive professional museum that introduces Tasmania's history and culture, distribution of flora and fauna, mineral resources, etc. The exhibits here are very rich and comprehensively introduce Tasmania, whether from industrial development or the evolution of flora and fauna, there are many exhibits and specimens in history, which is very worth visiting.
Tasman Bridge
MM22***07The Tasman Bridge connects the East and west sides of Hobart. It can be seen almost everywhere and is very eye-catching. There are pedestrians on both sides of the bridge, but I haven't tried yet. The picture overlooks the bridge from the East lookout~
Sandy Bay
Ppxy0705Hobart's Sandy Bay is a very beautiful bay with a very long and soft sandy beach. The surrounding scenery is really beautiful. Many tourists come here to enjoy the sunshine and the beach. It is really comfortable and enjoyable.
Penitentiary Chapel Historic Site
陌陌染MMTraveling to Australia, this stop came to Hobart, the capital of Tasmania. The Port Arthur Historic Site is one of the most famous attractions in Hobart. The Prison Church Historic Site, which used to be an old prison building, shows the local prison environment more than half a century ago, as well as the judicial system in Tasmania. Visitors can see the former court here, or follow the dim stairs to the cell and visit the cell environment. I took a tour map, which marked many places. Now all we see is a ruin. Although a sign was erected in the court, cell and other places, everyone can use their imagination to imagine the original picture at that time.
Maritime Museum of Tasmania
DDJDQBasically, it is the only museum in Hobart. In the city center, the location is very good. There are not many people. It is free. It is not big. It is full of up to an hour. What is impressive is the slaughter and aggression of Westerners against indigenous peoples, and it is surprising that contemporary Australians are constantly reflecting on and re-examining how to treat indigenous civilizations. Did Europeans bring civilization or disaster?
Battery Point
YYuppiJeIts a suburb of the city of Hobart, Tasmania, named after the battery of guns established in 1818 as part of Hobart coastal defences.
Cascade Brewery
陌陌染MMTraveling to Australia, this stop came to Hobart, the capital of Tasmania. Visited Cascade Brewery, which is the oldest brewery in Australia. It was built in 1824 and rebuilt in 1927. This is because a fire broke out in the south that year, and the fire affected the brewery. Later, it was rebuilt, so there are two years marked on the main entrance of the castle-style brewery. The current Cascade Brewery offers various flavors of beer, fruit drinks, and dark beer brewed with specially selected wheat.
There is a tour of the brewery here, but it is not available on weekends. When I came that day, it was Sunday, so I could only taste the craft beer at my own expense. I am not a drinker, so I only bought a cup of the smallest cider to try, which costs about RMB 20. It is not big, and it is brewed with local apple juice from Tasmania. It is mellow and delicious. If it is hot, drinking a glass of iced beer can be said to be a great thing. The restaurant is quite large. On one side is a counter selling various craft beers. You can also order meals or desserts. I heard that there are desserts made with beer, but I didn't buy any food. On the other side is hot drinks.
Pushing the side door of the restaurant out is an ancient garden. The garden coexists with the brewery, so it is also a garden with a long history. There are many plants planted in it. It can be said to be a mini botanical garden. There are many outdoor seats. Australians like to enjoy the sun outdoors, especially on weekends or after work in the afternoon. There will be many locals who come here to chat in groups of three or two. This is the slow life in Australia.
Tasmanian Museum and Art Gallery
陌陌染MMTraveling to Australia, this stop came to Hobart, the capital of Tasmania. Walking around the city center, came to this museum, which is opposite the City Hall, near the pier, there is a parking lot at the door, parking is very convenient, but there is a charge. The museum is free to visit. When you enter, there are some open-air art-shaped seats on the right, you can take a break. The front left is the locker area. All guests who come in to visit need to put their belongings in the locker. You need to prepare a 2 yuan Australian dollar coin. Open any empty cabinet, there is a small slot in the cabinet door, you can plug coins, only can put just 2 yuan size coins, and then close the cabinet door and unplug the key. When you need to advance items, plug the key in, twist the door open, The coins will be automatically spit out for you. This museum has several partitions, including the history and culture museum of the aboriginal people, the animal specimen museum, and the exquisite collection museum, art museum, cafe, rest hall and other parts. I only visited the animal specimen museum due to time problems and learned about it in Australia. Even Tasmanian-specific animals, of course, are specimens, such as the now extinct swolves, Tasmanian tigers, Tasmanian devils, various sizes of kangaroos, birds, and so on. The decoration of the zoological specimen museum is very simple, or it is deliberately made into a primitive decoration, it feels like returning to the primitive society. The lighting in the lounge is dim, but there is a kind of English-style decoration. There are always clear instructions along the road. You can look at the signs to find your favorite museum.
