I booked an apartment that could take 5 persons as advertised online through thesquare service apartment on 9 June 2023 for a three nights stay at 270 pounds a night excluding taxes and a 500 pound security deposit. The reason why I booked and paid for this apartment was that it stated on the website that the apartment can take 5 persons! But immediately after I had made the payment and thesquare staff members had acknowledged the booking, they started writing to ask me to pay for an extra bed!!! I could not believe that they were asking me to pay for an extra bed for the fifth person even though the publication online clearly specified that the apartment could take 5 adults. When we arrived London to check in to the apartment, we discovered that our stay was at Denison House - even though this was never mentioned in any of our communications. It took us a long time to locate the apartment and in the end, someone was sent to help us check in! We were called on the phone repeatedly by the staff to remind us to pay for the extra bed for the fifth person!! Even though Denison House is located in a reasonable area in London, I had expected much more for the amount of money I paid per night than the type of shoddy reception that was given to us. The main focus was money and not customer satisfaction. The staff who kept calling us on phone finally put an extra bed in one of the two bedrooms - a collapsible bed which is not strong and comfortable enough to take one adult. And we were informed that we had to pay 90 pounds extra for this extra bed which we did not use because it was not comfortable at all!! When I refused to pay for the extra bed, the staff at Thesquare took matters into their hands and decided to deduct the money from the 500 pounds security deposit which I had paid to them despite the fact that the security deposit was supposed to be deducted in case of damage to any of their properties. I found the deception completely unacceptable and the fact that what is published on their website is not what they follow. The fact that they get you to pay the full amount of your stay before informing you to pay for an extra bed is what I found the most deceptive. If the online advert had made it clear that the apartment was for only 4 adults with the possibility to pay for an extra bed, I would have understood but that was not the case. All in all, though a reasonable place, the price is too inflated for the quality of service provided and I will not recommend it for anybody!!!
