Excellent
Over the past 1.5 years I have stayed at this hotel 3 times. While the rooms are consistently clean and the general staff very friendly there are two particular issues I have. When travelling the fitness centers are important to me and yet each time I have stayed here the elliptical machine has not worked. The second time I happened to meet the General Manager (Annette?) who promised me she would follow up and if it did not work the next time she would comp the room. Lo and behold it had the same exact issue as the prior two times and was unusable. She was not in until 10am so I wrote her a note and gave it to the front desk clerk who promised to pass it on to her. I reminded her of our conversation, gave her my email and cell and go no response; not even an apology. Given this lack of follow through and false promises I will not stay here again and would advise anyone who cares about working fitness equipment not to do so either.
Fairly new hotel; very clean; easy parking, although a little pricey; every member of the staff was very friendly and accommodating; buffet breakfast was OK; great location, an easy walk to Beale Street; we felt very safe walking to Beale Street..
THE most hospitable hotel stay I've had in many years !! The staff could not have been more friendly and welcoming. For the first time, in a long time, I felt like a welcome guest. This is a boutique hotel only five blocks from Beale St. It's relatively small and kind of quaint. The room was clean and neat. Mattresses were very comfortable. Towels were big and fluffy, and we even had very nice robes in the closet. The room was big enough without being too big or too small. It even had an wonderful shower. The hotel is just completing a major renovation, although I saw none of it. Our only impact from the renovation was that we missed the restaurant reopening by two days. This was not a problem, there are plenty of nice restaurants and bars in the immediate vicinity. I will make a point of returning to the Napoleon Hotel next time I'm in Memphis.
GGuest UserThe hotel location wasn't bad. Loved the Elvis homage.... room wasn't the cleanest, bathroom and walls could use a good clean and paint job. Didn't have breakfast. So I can't say much. But for the price I paid, I can't complain. Don't mind going back there.
GGuest UserThe check in process was fast, the front desk staff was good and professional. Easy parking, in quiet neighborhood, inviting lobby, clean hallways. Great hot shower temperature, clean beds. Had following issues: 1. WiFi did not work and the hotel insisted we called the toll free number provided by them ourselves to solve it, which I believe it's the hotel's responsibility to provide easy access WiFi and resolve technical issues on their end. 2. General Manager, Leslie Mitchell, would use more active listening and empathy, rather than came across as defensive, unresponsive, careless about the customers. 3. No hairdryer, nor extra roll of toilet paper, nor complimentary bottled water upon arrival of the room. 4. Shower head had water pouring toward the further wall across, would be better if properly position to have water flowing right in the middle of the bathtub/shower room or towards the interior wall away from the shower curtain/outside. 5. obvious carpet stains, and door stain as well as fell-off paints. Sheraton is known to be a reputable hotel chain, and haven't stayed with Sheraton for a long time, not a good experience, especially with bad attitude and poor customer care from the general manager in this location.
AAlex WWas here for a conference at the adjoining conference center. Don't let the close proximity to the Renasant tempt you to stay. Half of the people I traveled with had broken air conditioning in their rooms, some having it break in the middle of the night. I had to switch rooms as the first was 85 degrees and had ants crawling on the AC unit. The bathroom makeup mirror was broken and so were the racks holding the shampoo and conditioner. The second room was a little better but was still very dirty. There was a dirty washcloth left in the sink for the first two days. The duvet and carpet had dirt on it and part of the floor was sticky. The hallways are stuffy, humid, and musty, the elevators seemed like they are falling apart, and the skybridge to the conference center smelled like mold. As others have mentioned, the restaurant in the lobby is extremely expensive for what you get so don't bother. The hotel is also on the edge of downtown and we didn't feel very comfortable walking to places. The place really needs a refresh.
AAlisha MThe outside is not all appealing but when you get inside tour room, it's nice. The staff is not all that except for the one black lady, she made us feel welcomed, she joked and spoke every time she saw us, the other staff members, they just looked at us and didn't part their moth. Lol It served its purpose for us when we went. We went for a lakers and grizzlies game. It's like 15 to 20 mins away from FedEx Forum. I would rebook here again.
JjenwhiteMy husband and I had a good stay room was clean the guy that checked us in that night is very friendly and very helpful. Breakfast could be up graded to a hot breakfast it was pretty lame. Other that had wonderful stay. Thank you.
GGattaThe motel is very close to the center so it is very easy and comfortable to get there. The good thing was that it is in a gated property so at least it feels safe. I reserved a room for three people but they provided just two sets of towels. The room had the basic. TV, no fridge. The main problem I had was the clean. The room did not feel clean at all. The beds were changed, but under the bed the dust and dirt was disgusting. The floor probably has not been clean from a very long time and there was a condom wrap open under the bed. The walls and doors had spots all over . Overpriced for what you get.
PpaulbahrI was in town to help my daughter move to the area and help her get settled while she worked at her new job and I worked remotely during the days. The biggest complaint I had was the internet speed. I'm in IT and work remotely, participating in video calls throughout the day. Because of this, I upgraded my internet speed to the better quality. After having problems on my video calls, I contacted Comcast (the ISP for the hotel) and they couldn't figure it out and were supposed to send someone out to investigate and fix the issue. This was on Wednesday and I checked out on Saturday morning with no resolution and no speed improvement. Throughout my stay, the faucet in the kitchen leaked maybe one drip every three or four seconds progressing to 1-2 drips each second and wrapping up my stay with a narrow but steady stream of water. The maintenance tech came up on Friday and found she didn't have the parts needed to fix it and it apparently wasn't too high on the priority list to source them locally. I was told it would wait until Monday when she returned. Again, I checked out on Saturday with no resolution. Overall, the kitchen is tired as is several non-room aspects of the property. The veneer on the particle board cabinetry is delaminating and some of the doors don't even hang straight anymore. The fridge doors look like someone took a hammer to them. Some of the stair treads have come loose and are most definitely a trip-and-fall hazard. The whole thing's seen better days. Oh, and I can't forget the daily smell of someone smoking **** on my floor - IN A NON-SMOKING BUILDING! I was required to stay another week and so I moved to a different ESA location across town; I should have stayed at this one, even with its issues. I don't know if the problem is endemic to Memphis or system-wide, but I'm not impressed. Needless to say, I won't be staying with ESA anytime soon.
