The hotel is very posh and luxurious. Great location, within 5 minutes walk to main street. Right outside the hotel, there are robot guides that you can rent to ride through the city. Breakfast is delicious, and the service provided is perfect. The only downside is the room is a bit old.

What a superb courtyard boutique hotel, located within the famous and iconic Pingyao ancient city this lovingly restored courtyard residence ticks all the boxes, beautiful rooms, ever present and friendly staff, and a location right on the main walking streets of the city. Here one can immerse oneself in Chinese history while enjoying 21st century comforts.
We could easily have stayed another night.

Great hotel at a great location inside the Ancient City. Accommodations are really well maintained and looks like just renovated, while keeping the historical ambiance.
Hotel staff speaks English and were very caring during our stay.
Great place for a relaxing time. Quiet environment.

This hotel was stunning. Located in the heart of the city. Very charming, it feels like going back in time.
Staff is extremely nice and helpful. Crystal at concierge was there for us all the time.
Definitely recommended.
Only down point: the hotel is very difficult to find. To keep a higher level of exclusivity there is not a single indication on the street. Took a while and some local help to manage.

If you come to Pingyao to experience the life in the ancient city, then Jinzhai may be the best choice, because it is not a stereotyped inn, and its taste is not inferior to that of international chain hotels, and it is at the level of ancient building protection. As soon as you enter the gate, you will be served with hot towels and hot ginger tea. It feels like a wealthy businessman from Shanxi going home, which warms your heart directly. The staff are simple and sincere with a sense of relaxation. The hotel design is exquisite and elegant, with a sense of Zen, and the artworks displayed have oriental artistic conception. It is a wonderful experience!
