East Bali: Gates of Heaven&Water Palace

We were up early to beat the crowds at Lempuyang Temple. Arriving at 6:30 am, we were already number 68 in line 😅 about 2 hours of waiting to get that iconic “Gates of Heaven” shot. Pro tip: The popular shot is actually a trick using a black mirror to create the illusion of a water reflection. There are 3 levels in Lempuyang Temple. The first level, where the iconic “Gates of Heaven” is located, is open to tourists. The rest are reserved for praying. Unfortunately, the sky wasn’t clear during our visit, so we missed out on seeing Mt Agung in the background. After the temple, we headed to the serene Tirta Gangga Water Palace before continuing our journey to Ubud 🍃🧘🏼♀️#eastbali #lempuyangtemple #tirtaganggawaterpalace
