Baotou Marriott Hotel Check-in Experience During this trip to Inner Mongolia, I chose Baotou Marriott Hotel instead of Hohhot Sheraton because it is relatively new. The overall experience had its highlights and shortcomings. Hotel Rooms: Spacious and Comfortable, but Temperature Needs Adjusting I booked a basic room type, and the hotel kindly upgraded me to an executive suite. The suite was very spacious and well laid out. Each room, including the bathroom, had floor-to-ceiling windows, and it was a corner suite, so the view was great. The only downside was that the room temperature was high, and the windows couldn't be opened. The air is already dry in the north in winter, so the environment was a little uncomfortable. Hotel Service: Needs Improvement When I arrived at the hotel in the afternoon, there was no doorman to greet me at the door, and there was no one in the lobby to guide me. There was a business meeting at the hotel at the time, so the staff were busy, and I had to do everything myself. The front desk staff were okay, but not very enthusiastic. After I asked about the doorman, a doorman came out of a room and took me to the elevator, but he didn't introduce anything. However, the hotel upgrading my room was a nice touch. Hotel Dining: Average Breakfast had a wide variety of options to meet different needs, but the taste was average. The lounge was only open during happy hour (HH), and afternoon tea was served in the lobby bar. The food during HH was average, but the view from the lounge was nice. Hotel Entertainment and Fitness: Limited Facilities The hotel had limited entertainment and fitness facilities, and no bottled water was provided. The pool was small, which affected the experience to some extent. Overall Evaluation Overall, the hotel was generous with room upgrades, and the executive suite was comfortable and pleasant to stay in. However, the service quality could be improved, and the dining and entertainment and fitness facilities could be improved.
