National Heritage Site: Fayuan Temple (National Level 5).

Fayuan Temple, a 5th batch national key cultural relic protection unit, Qing Dynasty, ancient architecture. The temple was originally named Minzhong Temple and was built in the first year of Wuzetian Wansui Tongtian of the Tang Dynasty (696). It was rebuilt after the Youzhou earthquake in the sixth year of Xianyong of the Liao Dynasty (1070). In the tenth year of Zhengtong of the Ming Dynasty (1445), the court issued a volume of scriptures, which has been preserved to this day. In the eleventh year of Yongzheng of the Qing Dynasty (1733), it was rebuilt and named Fayuan Temple. Fayuan Temple has six courtyards, facing south. On the central axis, there are buildings such as the mountain gate, the bell and drum tower, the Heavenly King Hall, the Daxiong Hall, the Minzhong Terrace, the Jingye Hall, the Dabeitan, and the Sutra Pavilion. The east road is the dining hall, the abbot and the monk's house. There are still a few monks' rooms on the west road. Since I read Li Ao's Beijing Fayuan Temple many years ago, I have always wanted to come and see it. Today I finally made it, but unfortunately I have forgotten what I read at that time, and I will look at it again when I go home. I met two strangers in the temple, and together we admired the inscriptions of the Yuan and Ming dynasties in the temple, and talked about history, which was quite interesting.
