Qiandao Lake Qinchuan Ancient Village, a hidden earthly secret for over seven hundred years

Chun'an is the largest county by area in Zhejiang Province, equivalent to the total area of five counties and two districts in Jiaxing City. Chun'an was formed by the merger of Chun'an and Sui'an counties, both of which were separated from She County in Anhui during the Three Kingdoms period. Qinchuan Ancient Village is located in Langchuan Township at the border of Zhejiang and Anhui. This is an ancient village hidden on the banks of Qiandao Lake. For more than 750 years, it seems to have been isolated from the world, independently weaving the tapestry of history. Outside the village, there is a large expanse of rapeseed flowers. At the entrance of the village by the creek, there are 5 ancient camphor trees, spreading their massive limbs, welcoming guests from all directions together with the ducks in the creek. The largest tree is over eight hundred years old, and it takes several people to embrace its trunk. Passing by the big camphor tree, one is immediately enveloped by a sense of tranquility and simplicity. The village has a small entrance but a large interior, containing a universe within, where the natural way of heaven prevails. The six to seven meters wide Qinchuan Creek meanders through, cutting the village in half from north to south. The creek water is clear and bottom-visible, never drying up all year round, with ducks and geese swimming leisurely and grouper fish in groups. Due to the village's strict fishing ban, the stream fish here, both in size and number, are incomparable to those in ordinary streams. There are more than 30 small bridges built over the creek, many of which are single-log bridges made of cypress. Stepping on the bridge, it creaks. The ancient village currently has more than 300 Ming and Qing Dynasty Hui-style ancient houses, accounting for about 60% of the village's buildings. With white walls and black tiles, the houses stand dignified, and the clear stream babbles, resembling a moving ink painting. Walking among them, it's as if one has arrived at an ancient village in southern Anhui. Judging from the specifications of these ancient buildings, the original owners were either rich or noble.
