I just came back from Phoenix and have been hit by thunder several times. I am writing a lazy and unprepared travelogue while the iron is hot, hoping that working people like me can have a better experience! 🚄How to get there The Changsha-Fenghuang Ancient City high-speed rail takes about more than 2 hours. You must buy tickets in advance during summer vacation! After leaving the high-speed rail station, it is basically impossible to take a taxi. You can buy a maglev ticket directly. 💰58 yuan/person can be used unlimited times within 4 days. If you need to go back and forth, it is more cost-effective to choose this. The maglev stops at many stations along the way, but the view is overlooking Phoenix. There is an observation deck at Phoenix Range Rover Station, and the scenery is pretty good! But if you go to a B&B in the ancient city or go to Qifeng Square, you must wait at the Fenghuang Station. Don’t get off the bus early, otherwise walking back and forth will be tiring. After getting off the maglev car, take the yellow car line 1 to Qifeng Square. Don’t take the wrong one, ask the staff! It’s really hard to take a taxi here. If you don’t mind driving, it’s better to drive yourself! 🏨Accommodation I chose a room facing the river and had a river view through the window. But the disadvantages are also very obvious: there are many mosquitoes and it is very hot. The ancient city is very lively at night and can last until early morning. The room is not soundproof at all. If you want to go to bed early, you must choose carefully. The accommodation conditions are very average. It is best to bring all kinds of toiletries with you. 🍚Food 1. Fenghuang Old Restaurant (high value for money, large quantity and unique features, you must try the blood duck specialties) 2. Miaojia Laozhai Noodle House (beef noodles are very chewy, the joy of making noodles is worth having!) Local specialties: blood rake duck, stone pot fish, beef noodles, rice wine 🏞️Attractions There is no entrance fee to enter the ancient city, but the Eight Scenic Spots of Phoenix and Tuojiang River Rafting require additional fees. The package ticket is not expensive at 198 yuan. Attractions can be purchased separately. I visited Shen Congwen’s Former Residence. It’s small but costs 45 yuan, but it’s still worth a visit~ 📷Miaofu photo: It’s super worth it. Although taking pictures in scenic spots has become an assembly line now, I’m still used to choosing one every time I arrive. I don’t have to carry my own camera.
