Hupao Dream Spring - Enjoy the beautiful scenery with Master Hongyi

Master Hongyi, also known as Li Shutong, was a rare talent in music, calligraphy, painting, and drama. He became a monk in middle age, meditated, and became a great monk who combined Buddhism and life. Hupao Park, located in the mountains and forests on the south bank of West Lake, is named after Hupao Spring and is famous for its mountain scenery. However, its soul is closely related to Master Hongyi. It has now become a famous scenic spot in West Lake, with spring water, mountain scenery, and culture. At the age of 37, Master Hongyi first visited Dinghui Temple in Hupao, where he fasted and cultivated his mind; at the age of 39, he became a monk here; at the age of 63, he passed away in Fujian, and his relics were buried beside Hupao Spring. 👍Highly recommended: Hupao Park is still full of trees and winding paths. Behind the bustling West Lake, there is a unique scenery. Along the path after entering the park, you can hear the sound of the stream. The Li Shutong Memorial Hall is located on a high platform in the center of the scenic area. The sculpture of Master Hongyi inside the memorial hall is lifelike, and the exhibition hall introduces his life and achievements in detail, as well as many of his calligraphy works. The small house next to the courtyard was the master's solitary residence for practice, and the scene of his practice was restored. There are also unique features on both sides and behind the memorial hall. On the left is the Jigong Pagoda Courtyard, where the Southern Song Dynasty monk Jigong passed away. There is a memorial temple and a pagoda; on the right are buildings such as Bicui Pavilion and Shanquan Residence, surrounding Hupao Spring. The spring is crystal clear and sweet, ranking first among the springs in West Lake. In the mountains behind the memorial hall, there is also the pagoda of Master Hongyi and the sculpture of Hupao Dream Spring. Legend has it that the Tang Dynasty monk Xingkong lived here and was instructed by a god in a dream to send two tigers to move the spring water here, which became the sweet spring water today and is also one of the new ten scenic spots of West Lake. 🌟Highlights: In the secluded Hupao, it is a great experience to brew a pot of tea with clear spring water and fresh West Lake Longjing tea. Next to the Li Shutong Memorial Hall, there is an unknown small courtyard in front of Yicui Pavilion, with a small bridge, flowing water, lotus, and green trees. There is a tea house where you can taste Longjing tea. Sitting in the courtyard, drinking tea, and feeling the nature and the master's spirit is a unique experience.
