I captured the golden light of the setting sun at Nanhu Lake in Jiaxing!

Nanhu Lake in Jiaxing is a hidden gem! I captured the golden light of the setting sun, which was like a dreamlike scene from a movie. I never get tired of visiting Jiaxing. There are not many tourists, and the pace of life is slow. I feel relaxed and happy every time I visit, so I often come here to unwind. This time, I didn't go to the Nanhu Lake Central Scenic Area. Instead, I went to a lesser-known place, Haogu Pagoda. Haogu Pagoda is one of the seven pagodas and eight temples of ancient Jiaxing. It is said that Su Dongpo once drank tea here. It was first built in the Five Dynasties or the Northern Song Dynasty, and later rebuilt in the Ming Dynasty. Even the great painter Wu Zhen of the Yuan Dynasty painted it in his work "Eight Views of Jiahe". It was quite famous in the Song and Yuan Dynasties. Although Haogu Pagoda is a lesser-known scenic spot, the scenery is still beautiful, especially on sunny days. Watching the sunset here is amazing. Climb the pagoda, and Nanhu Lake is at your feet. You can see bridges and boats coming and going. You may even see a beautiful sunset and the golden light of the setting sun. Haogu Pagoda has seven floors, and the scenery on each floor is similar but different. You can see the panoramic view of Nanhu Lake from the second floor, but I think the view from the fifth and sixth floors is the best. There are fewer people than on the seventh floor, and you can find a corner to enjoy the view quietly. In winter, the sun sets early. The sun becomes warm and yellow at around 4 pm, and the sunset starts at around 4:30 pm. The sun sets completely at around 4:50 pm. If you want to see the most beautiful sunset, climb the pagoda at 4:30 pm. Here are some tips: • Haogu Pagoda is located in a corner of Nanhu Lake. It takes about 20 minutes to walk to the core scenic area, Huijingyuan Wharf. • Haogu Pagoda is free. Nearby attractions, such as Lanxiu Garden and Shao Garden, are also worth visiting. • Address: No. 237, Yuanhu Road, Nanhu District, Jiaxing City. Opening hours: 8 am to 5 pm. Admission: Free. Recommended visit time: About 1 hour. Don't miss the food in Jiaxing, such as Jiaxing meat zongzi. The glutinous rice is oily but not greasy, and the meat is tender. The zongzi is full of the fragrance of zongzi leaves and the rich flavor of meat. Nanhu water caltrop is sweet and crisp, and it is delicious whether eaten raw or cooked. In addition to Haogu Pagoda, you can also visit Wuzhen to experience the charm of the water towns in Jiangnan, or Xitang Ancient Town to experience the ancient charm. However, the weather in Jiaxing is changeable, so remember to bring an umbrella.
