Jinan Luneng Guihe Intercontinental Hotel is located in the center of the old city, backed by Daming Lake, with a distant view of Qianfo Mountain and overlooking Quancheng Square. To the left is Baotu Spring, and to the right is Heihu Spring. All the famous scenic spots and delicacies in Quancheng are within walking distance. Following the construction concept of the symbiosis of five-star hotels and commercial complexes popular in the 1980s and 1990s, the Jinan Intercontinental is located on the top floor of the local top property Guihe Shopping Center. The mall is large in scale, with luxury brands gathered on the ground floor. However, the planning of the zoning and traffic flow seems to have some problems, resulting in the hotel reception hall and atrium lobby being always crowded and hard to find peace. Fortunately, the lounge can handle check-ins, and you can take the elevator directly to the top floor. You can see some details of this building; the overall layout is slightly complicated. The floor plan should be similar to the Arabic numeral 8, with two adjacent towering atriums connected, and the bottom parts are the reception lobby and the swimming pool. All guest rooms are stacked around the two atriums layer by layer. If you are new here, it is easy to get lost when going back and forth between the lounge, room, or elevator. For example, this time I stayed in room 1167, located in the southwest corner of the building. It was not only far from the lounge but also required passing through halls and rooms, and I got lost every time. After all, the hotel has been in operation for years, so I had no expectations for the room. Ensuring member benefits, I was upgraded to a 270-degree deluxe room, more accurately described as a corner room with intermittent floor-to-ceiling windows on both sides. The room layout is similar to the Westin Guangzhou, with a long entrance corridor, so the west sun is quite severe, making it stuffy and hot. The room facilities are generally maintained, with more or less some minor issues. Apart from the outdated decor, it is overall acceptable. There is Daming Lake outside the window, but unfortunately, it is too far away, only a dark green line can be seen. The decoration style of the executive lounge is similar to that of an old cadre training institute. The curtains are tightly closed due to the west sun, making the whole space depressing and dark, which is unappealing. But whether it is afternoon tea or evening happy hour, it lives up to the reputation of hospitable Shandong, and it is worth the extra cost. The breakfast the next day was arranged in the restaurant on the sixth floor. The environment is similar to the lounge, with no natural light, and the offerings are also similar to the lounge, all above standard, diverse, rich, and full of local flavor. Especially recommended are the handmade meat buns and large pancakes. Only fat and carbohydrates can make people happy. The swimming pool is currently being renovated and is not open. The only downside is that the room I stayed in this time had no windows and no ventilation windows
