Enjoy a Dai-style holiday in the tropical garden of Xishuangbanna

It was my first time in Xishuangbanna, escaping the cold and damp weather of Jiangsu, Zhejiang, and Shanghai. I was enchanted by the Dai culture and had a super relaxing holiday. Gaozhuang Xishuangjing is a must-see for every visitor to Xishuangbanna. I was lucky to stay at a riverside hotel just a 5-minute walk from the Gaozhuang Night Market. The infinity pool and the Lancang River complement each other, and you can see coconut trees and peacock-shaped buildings. Downstairs is the "Mermaid Restaurant," where every night you can enjoy the mermaid show and the sunset over the Lancang River, and marvel at the comfort of the day. At night, you can walk to the nearby night market to buy souvenirs and take photos. On this trip to Xishuangbanna, I chose a relaxed and free way to travel. I didn't go to Wild Elephant Valley or the Dai Park. Instead, I took a leisurely staycation and visited a Dai village. I went to Manyuan Village to see what life is really like in the village. Because the TV show "Back to Field" was filmed here, it is a popular attraction. But compared to other attractions that focus more on photo opportunities, it is quieter and more authentic.
