Lianbaoyeze | The Garden of the Gods 🏔️Lianbaoyeze, meaning "the peak of dignity" in Tibetan, is also known as the Stone Castle or Stone Mountain. It is located in the Bayan Har Mountains, the watershed of the Yellow River and Yangtze River, in Aba Prefecture, Sichuan Province, 511.5 km from Chengdu, about 8 hours by car. The scenery here is reminiscent of Middle-earth in The Lord of the Rings. You may have seen it countless times on screen, but nothing compares to the shock of seeing it in person! You may have been captivated by its spring and summer, but its winter is the most beautiful. If the beauty of western Sichuan were ranked, Lianbaoyeze would be a masterpiece! The two lakes in the canyon, Dangzangcuo (Baixiang Sea) and Qudengcuo (Luoxia Lake), are great spots for photography. 2️⃣Qudengcuo, also known as White Pagoda Lake, is located southeast of Lianbaoyeze. Every morning, the morning light from the east shines through the valley, and the snow-capped mountains, green valleys, white pagodas, and blue waters create a beautiful secret world. 3️⃣The highland lake Zhagaercuo, surrounded by mountains, is the essence of this route. To get there, you can drive to the parking lot near Camp 2 and walk along the boardwalk for half an hour to see it up close, or drive to the 4,500-meter-high viewing platform on the opposite mountain for a distant view. 4️⃣From Gemo Town, head north on National Highway 347 to Jiuzhi County, Qinghai Province, and then turn onto National Highway 345 (formerly Qinghai Provincial Highway 101) to reach the Qinghai Nianbaoyuze Scenic Area, once known as the Garden of the Gods.
