Explore Trysil: Norway's Largest Ski Resort

If you're planning a trip to Trysil, Norway's largest ski resort, here's a handy guide to make your journey smooth and enjoyable. 1. **Transportation**: After arriving at Oslo Airport, take the NW130 bus to the ski resort (Google map: Trysil ski center). The bus stops are right outside the airport, and you can wait at Platform 32. There are usually three departures daily, and you can check the schedule on Google to plan your trip accordingly. - **Ticket Purchase**: Visit the NOR-WAY Bussekspress website. A one-way ticket costs approximately NOK 568, with the destination being Radisson Blue Mountain Resort. 2. **Accommodation**: The ski resort is expansive, with two Radisson hotels offering ski-in/ski-out access. Both hotels average over NOK 2000 per night, but they have different bus ticket destinations. - **Radisson Blu Hotel (Valley)**: Located near convenience stores and several restaurants. - **Radisson Blue Mountain Hotel (Mountain)**: This is where I stayed. It lacks convenience stores, so purchases must be made at the hotel. The tap water is drinkable and tastes decent. - **Dining Options**: There are three restaurants: - **Bakery**: Offers sandwiches, croissants, coffee, and juices. - **Afterski**: Serves burger and fries for lunch, and a meat dish with fries for dinner. - **Hotel Restaurant**: Offers both Western and Chinese breakfast options; lunch and dinner are buffets priced at around NOK 330 per person. The shrimp is fresh and plentiful, and other options like pasta, mashed potatoes, and chicken are also good. Fruits and desserts are available too. 3. **Ski Pass**: Purchase your ski pass on Skistar.com. After selecting the number of days, collect your card from the machine to the left of the equipment rental entrance. A two-day pass costs NOK 1002, with longer durations offering a lower daily rate. 4. **Equipment Rental**: Ski gear, including skis, boots, and helmets, can be rented. Ask for directions at the hotel front desk to the G floor of the adjacent building. Renting a full set for two days costs NOK 710, or NOK 355 per day. 5. **Relaxation Activities**: - The hotel features a game room and billiards, costing NOK 25 per game. - An outdoor hot spring is available for hotel guests at NOK 200 per person, offering a great view of the snowy landscape. - The hotel also offers spa and massage services, with prices varying by treatment. These are relatively expensive but professionally done. I had a standard massage for about NOK 1200. Reservations should be made at least a day in advance as they are quite popular. Have a great time and remember, safety first! #NorwaySkiing #Norway #Skiing #Trysil #TrysilSkiResort #NorwayTravel #SkiHotels
