Exploring Politics and Culture in Seoul: A Visit to the National Assembly Building

Day 1: In the early morning, I arrived in Seoul, the capital of South Korea. My first stop was the National Assembly Building located on Yeouido. This magnificent structure is not only the heart of Korean politics but also a symbol of the intersection between history and modernity. As I approached the National Assembly Building, the massive dome and imposing exterior gave me a sense of solemnity. I signed up for a guided tour, where the guide provided a detailed introduction to Korea's legislative process and historical background. During the tour, I had the privilege of entering the conference hall, feeling the tense atmosphere as each member discusses national affairs. After lunch, I strolled around the park surrounding the National Assembly Building. The lush greenery and winding paths make it a popular spot for locals to exercise and relax. In the morning, I visited Gyeongbokgung Palace, one of Korea's most famous palaces. Walking through the palace gates, I felt as if I had traveled back in time, witnessing the splendor and grandeur of the past dynasty. Here, I attended the changing of the guard ceremony, experiencing the charm of traditional culture. Then, I went to Bukchon Hanok Village, wandering through well-preserved traditional Korean houses and admiring the blend of ancient architecture and contemporary art. In the afternoon, I headed to Insadong, a renowned art and craft district in Seoul. The narrow alleys are filled with small shops and cafes. I found a delicate handmade craft in an art shop as a souvenir. In the evening, I returned to the vicinity of the National Assembly Building to once again admire the building's splendor under the lights. The surrounding nightscape added a sense of mystery and grandeur, deepening my impression of Seoul. This trip not only allowed me to understand Korea's political system but also to experience the rich cultural heritage of the city. The National Assembly Building, as an important landmark in Seoul, became the starting point of my exploration, allowing me to find a balanced beauty between history and modernity.
