Guilin Park: A Fusion of Classical and Modern Aromas

Guilin Park is one of the few classical garden-style architectures in downtown Shanghai. Originally known as the 'Huang Family Garden,' it was once the private garden villa of Huang Jinrong, one of the three major tycoons of the Qingbang, with a construction cost of up to 3.5 million yuan at the time. Today, the entire park has been transformed into a Chinese classical garden featuring osmanthus flowers, emulating the construction style of Suzhou gardens, which are exquisite and elegant. Every Mid-Autumn Festival, the osmanthus flowers bloom, filling the park with fragrance, making it an excellent place to enjoy the flowers. The park features small bridges over flowing streams, pavilions, towers, and grotesque rocks, as well as a European-style large lawn and a stone boat similar to the one in the Summer Palace. Occasionally, you can see girls in qipao or hanfu taking photos, adding to the classical charm of the place. Compared to Suzhou, the unique atmosphere of Guilin Park makes it a place that people are reluctant to leave!
