Tunisia's Mediterranean blue and white town

The blue and white town of 'Sidi Bou Said' is located on the southern coast of the Mediterranean, at the northeastern corner of the city of Tunis, facing the Gulf of Tunis. With white walls, blue door frames and windows, it features Andalusian and Arab architectural characteristics, becoming one of the world's four major blue and white towns (along with Morocco's Chefchaouen, Greece's Santorini, and India's Jodhpur). It is said that almost every building in the town was once the residence of a celebrity, preserving many of their stories. Cafes 1: At the top of the hill, there is a famous century-old cafe, 'Cafe des Nattes'; it became famous because a French painter painted a 'view of a mosque' here; both inside and outside the cafe are covered with mats, hence the name Cafe des Nattes. A cup of mint pine nut tea costs only 8 DT. 2: Further in, on the cliff, there is a 'Cafe des Delices'; this cafe is a true Tunisian tourism card, offering an unobstructed view of the bay, with tiered platform seating that makes for great photo opportunities. Coffee costs 15 DT (a bit expensive, but great for photos)
