Tsukudo Hachiman Shrine

Tsukudo Hachiman Shrine is a beautiful shrine located in the northern part of Kagurazaka Street in the Tsukudo Hachiman-cho area. The steep stairs leading to the shrine can be quite challenging. Although the shrine grounds are small, the colorful and splendid shrine architecture is very beautiful. Be sure to check out the Koshin Tower built during the Edo period, located within the shrine grounds. As a symbol of Taoist belief, it is generally known as 'see no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil,' and is usually carved with monkeys. However, the Tsukudo Hachiman Tower is uniquely carved with a mother monkey holding a peach tree, which is rare and distinctive. The overall atmosphere of the shrine is nice, very quiet, and perfect for a leisurely stroll. Those who like shrines should definitely visit here; it is worth appreciating.
