The Pearl of Sabah - Shangri-La Rasa Ria, Kota Kinabalu

I really like Shangri-La. Although it is in the suburbs and not convenient to go to the city, the hotel has a shuttle bus. The hotel has a large area, and you need to take a small tour bus to get around. We stayed in the Ocean Wing, and the room and balcony were very large. The view of the pool and hotel beach was great. There are two restaurants to choose from for breakfast, one downstairs and one in another building that you need to take a car to. However, there are no restaurants nearby, so you usually have to eat at the hotel. There is only one Italian restaurant below the Ocean Wing, and the rest are in the Garden Wing. Prices are relatively high, but there are many options, including Western food, Chinese food, teppanyaki, etc. However, the Chinese restaurant only allows you to order set meals and not à la carte! They have Sabah University's own research on the seven-star grouper. Unfortunately, it is located in the tropics, and the hotel is in the suburbs, so there are more mosquitoes, but the hotel provides mosquito repellent. The staff generally communicate in English, and their level is very good, but many people can also speak some Mandarin.
