Take your kids to Silver Cave in Yangshuo, detailed guide and tips
Many people complain about Silver Cave, but I just took my kids there and I really think it is amazing! For those who have never seen a karst cave, the scenery here is definitely worth the ticket price.
📍Attraction overview:
Silver Cave is a typical karst cave that runs through 12 peaks and has a multi-level structure. The stalactites in the cave are as bright as the Milky Way, shining like silver, hence the name "Silver Cave". Among the dozens of attractions, the "Three Wonders" - Snow Mountain Waterfall, Music Stone Screen, and Yaochi Wonderland, and the "Three Treasures" - Buddha's Sermon, Hunyuan Pearl Umbrella, and Sky Pillar are the most famous. (The Music Stone Screen, which used to play fairy music, is now forbidden to be knocked for protection, making it even more mysterious)
🚗Travel guide:
We took a taxi from West Street in Yangshuo, which cost CNY 36. The driver said he would wait for us, but he took another order and left. Fortunately, we got a ride quickly. You have to walk the whole way, so be sure to wear comfortable shoes. There are sedan chairs inside, but I don't know the price. I saw three elderly people sitting comfortably, and my child also sat on it for a while (the light inside is dim, so the photos are a bit blurry).
🎫Ticket details:
Tickets are CNY 65 per person, with discounts available online. Children under 1.2 meters and seniors over 60 years old are free. Opening hours are 8:00-17:00, and it takes about 2 hours to visit. You will be given an audio guide at the entrance, so you can listen to the guide and stroll around. PS: The zip line and Earth Memory project require separate tickets. Don't miss it if you want to experience the thrill of a fast descent or learn more about geology.
🌳Travel tips:
✅The stalactites in the cave have been deposited for millions of years and have different shapes, making you feel like you are in a dreamlike adventure world.
✅The whole journey is more than 2 kilometers, the steps are wide but the cave is slippery with dripping water, so remember "don't walk while sightseeing, don't sightsee while walking".
✅There are 3 photo spots in the scenic area, small photos are free, large photos are CNY 30 each with a photo frame. Follow the route of the electronic guide sign, don't take a detour, and you can enjoy the scenery leisurely in about 2 hours.
There are many grandmas selling bamboo whistles at the entrance, CNY 2-5 each, you can buy them if you need them.
You can also visit the cultural and creative shops, where you can find various creative souvenirs to "take" the beauty of the cave home.
There is also a zip line project, where you can overlook the surrounding scenery from a high altitude, which is thrilling and exciting.
By the way, don't forget to try the electronic lottery machine to add fun to your trip and see your fortune today.
The view from the observation deck is quite good, you can take photos and check in.
